Chapter 4 Stockpiling
Cherished and protected by her family, Ye Shenge had never been allowed to go out alone in her eighteen years; she was always accompanied. Therefore, sneaking out to gather supplies was impossible. Ye Shenge had no choice but to ask for help from her most doting elder brother, Ye Mu'en.
When Ye Shenge secretly revealed the existence of her space to her elder brother, he was startled. He earnestly cautioned her not to show it to others and promised to find a way to handle it. However, as meticulous as he was, he couldn't escape their parents' notice. Their little secret was soon discovered.
Under their parents' "severe interrogation," Ye Shenge told the truth. She never doubted her family would betray her, as she was their very life. A four-person family meeting was immediately convened. Mother Ye even suggested bringing her into the space to prevent any accidents, making it convenient to care for and protect Ye Shenge wherever they went. But it was to no avail; no one else could enter the space.
Despite Mother Ye's frail appearance, she was a formidable businesswoman who managed two publicly traded companies, commanding considerable influence in the market.
Soon, Mother Ye took charge of stockpiling supplies. Knowing the space wasn't very large, she prepared twenty boxes of gold for Ye Shenge. In Mother Ye's own words, gold could be exchanged for money and supplies anywhere.
When the first batch of supplies filled a warehouse of nearly two thousand square *ping*, Ye Shenge's mouth twitched. Her space was so small; these supplies would pile up into the black soil.
Looking at the inventory list, Ye Shenge finally appreciated her mother's meticulousness. Everything was there, from grains to seeds, from side dishes to daily necessities. Her mother even found reliable manufacturers to supervise the production of her daughter's favorite pre-cooked meals, fearing food safety issues.
Since the space had been proven to preserve freshness, Mother Ye had prepared an abundance of pre-cooked food, also knowing her daughter couldn't cook.
When Ye Shenge placed her hand on a bag of meat, she instantly absorbed dozens of bags. Before she could rejoice, a wave of dizziness made her fall backward, accompanied by a feeling of nausea.
This terrified her family, who urged Ye Shenge not to continue. But Ye Shenge, looking at the abundant supplies, was unwilling to let the space's utility go to waste.
She used it several times consecutively to store all the supplies, squatting by the wall and vomiting countless times. When Ye Shenge re-entered the space, she was stunned. The black soil in the space had multiplied several times, and several houses had appeared in the dilapidated courtyard.
This pleasant surprise made Ye Shenge realize that the space could be upgraded by storing supplies. Since it was such a good thing, she decided to stockpile more. She wanted to see what the space would eventually become.
Thus, for over a month, Ye Shenge spent her nights collecting supplies. Perhaps due to practice, she no longer felt dizzy or nauseous. After expanding several times, the space stabilized in its final state.
It was a two-story villa with two hundred *mu* of land. What excited Ye Shenge the most was that the well water in the backyard was now functional. Although it couldn't cure her heart condition, drinking it long-term could strengthen her heart. At least, Ye Shenge hadn't experienced an episode in over a month. Su Dan Novel Network
The villa in the space lacked electricity and running water. Although Ye Shenge had decorated it in a modern style, the absence of utilities made it inconvenient. Therefore, Ye Mu'en bought a generator and a water pump. Ye Shenge learned to install them herself, taking half a month to complete. She planned to use well water for cooking but was reluctant to use it for washing.
Ye Mu'en also purchased several large water storage barrels for bathing. With water and electricity, Ye Shenge cooked her first meal in the space, even though it was just boiling rice in a pot.
