Chapter 90: Chapter 90
Mart entered the library, at the reception desk was Emy with his calm and somewhat somber look as always. When he approached, she stared at him.
"He’s still trying to figure me out. It must be because of his lineage," Mart thought and then crossed to the side of the desk where she was standing, took her hand and pulled her to him to hug her.
-Are you all right? I missed you. -He said to her in a relaxed tone as he placed a container with the last of the cake on the reception desk.
-Please! Don’t get hurt like that again, I could feel how you were suffering through the envelope you handed me. The envelope emitted a strange and chilling energy, when the energy ceased, I came out of the dormitories to look for you and saw the delicate state you were in. -Emy said, placing one of her delicate hands on Mart’s face, then she took out two notebooks from the ring Mart gave her. -Here, they will come in handy.
Mart took the notebooks, opened the first page of each and read, "Summary (Magic and Demonic Energy)", and "Advantages and Disadvantages".
"Wow, this reminds me of the first book she recommended to me, every time I am with her interesting things pop up, she is like a guide pointing the right way," Mart looked at Emy after thinking for a while and said sincerely:
-Thanks for everything, Emy. I will read them right away.
Mart walked over with the notebooks Emy had given him, sat down in front of a desk, pulled out a notebook with the first notes he had made on his essay, pulled out several sheets of paper, and then he began to read the information Emy had gathered on the topic of his essay. A few hours after he finished reading the notebooks, he began to write down word for word, each paragraph with the information he had selected.
"I think I will look for one or two more books to supplement the content of my essay, and in three days at the most I will have finished it; I must also finish the other assignments I have not yet completed," Mart thought as he continued writing.
"It is impressive how according to demon studies, demonic energy is considered to be of a corrosive type, and mana energy is a purifying energy. This is because it is thanks to the existence of demons and demonic beasts that demonic energy spreads, and the absence of both demonic species causes mana to slowly purify demonic energy. ", Mart paused to think about the notation he had made based on the contents of books written by demonic sorcerers and alchemists, to him that conclusion seemed very strange, a few seconds later, he asked in his mind, "System, is demonic energy a form of latent mana in the environment, or a corrosive energy?"
[Demonic energy is a form of mana with a different frequency]
[The host’s conclusion is correct.]
Mart closed the notebooks, now he had more doubts, regarding the demons and the conspiracies that plunged the demon country into instability.
"Do demons know that demonic energy is a latent energy; calling it corrosive , just like the corrosive energy that demons condemn is not a way to stigmatize themselves? Who concluded this? His answer is not far from reality, it is possible to see it that way, but did he conclude it that way, or did some conspirator make him conclude it that way to tyrannize the nature and existence of demons?", Mart stored in his demonic bag all the notebooks, the sheets of paper on which he had written and the rest of the objects he used.
He looked at a clock on the wall of the library, it was already an hour past midnight. He looked up and in the reception area, Emy was sleeping with her head resting on her delicate forearms which were resting on the desk.
Mart approached Emy, sat down next to her and contemplated her, as she slept she seemed calmness personified, he stroked her brown hair and soon after woke her up by gently touching her shoulder twice.
-Let’s rest. -Mart told her.
She nodded, got up, placed all the objects that were on the desk in a drawer, then they left and she closed the doors of the library.
-Mart? -Emy asked in her quiet, almost somber voice.
-What’s wrong? -Mart asked.
-Can I stay with you tonight? -asked Emy in a calm voice, but looking down.
He took Emy’s hand and said smiling subtly:
-Of course, you should also know that if you want to see me, you can come to me at any time, you don’t need to ask me.
Emy nodded, she was happy although her calm expression made it not obvious, but Mart had already begun to understand her subtle expressions, and he enjoyed them. The two continued walking down the dark corridors towards Mart’s room.
••••
A few hours later, in his room, the lights were off, Mart covered Emy with a blanket who was sleeping naked on his bed, he put on a pair of pants and sat in front of the desk, since he woke up from the coma, he had wanted to write down many things in his notebooks, but he had not found the right moment. Mart took out a luminous stone and placed it on the desk, then he took out the notebooks in which he made his personal notes, and at the end he took out a writing pen.
"Shadow of Asmodeus," was the first thing Mart jotted down.
"I had already thought that the demonic system had some link to the book "demonic hearts, seeing the notification I received earlier, now it became clear. But, does that mean that the capital traits represent the powers of those real demons? It’s very likely, I must try to test it, it may come in handy in a dangerous situation," Mart thought after contemplating the first words he had just jotted down.
"Let’s test the capital traits in a controlled manner," Mart jotted down in the notebook. After making the notation he thought, "although I don’t think it’s going to be that easy to do."
"Demonic humans"; "Weapons made from demons", was the next thing Mart wrote down, then he checked his bag and noticed that he still had the black staff with the orange gem, he took it out and began to evaluate it with his demonic perception for several minutes, and felt the demonic energy contained in the demonic staff. The demonic energy contained in the demonic staff was capable of strengthening the power emitted by what appeared to be a fire elemental gem.
"I don’t know who the members of this organization are, but since they use demons as material for making weapons, sooner or later, I will see to it that I exterminate them all. It is more than obvious, that this was made from the remains of a demon, perhaps when I increase my rank, I will be able to understand more about the nature of this demonic staff. I wonder what happened to the arm of that human that attacked Isirid, if the arm fell into the hands of director Persec most likely that human is cursed. I hope Director Persec will make him die as soon as possible."
Mart put the staff away again, made further notes regarding the curse he had observed while in the coma. Then, he took out a sheet of paper and began to write, in a meticulous way, demonic symbols which became demonic formulas that in the end were connected with a cursed diagram, the process took more than an hour. Mart looked closely at each part of the cursed diagram he had created, a few minutes later he shook his head and then burned the sheet of paper.
"It’s an incomplete curse. I need to improve the intelligence attribute and hone my knowledge regarding curses. I also need to further improve my control of demonic energy so that I can more quickly and stably connect the demonic formulas that form the cursed diagram, otherwise I will create only a useless unstable curse that will be reversed against me."
Mart saw the window, then the sky, "It won’t be long before the sun rises."
He returned to store everything he had placed on the desk in his demonic bag, he got up and went into the bathroom, after taking a bath he put on a blue sports outfit, he was going to continue with his routine established before falling into a coma, as it was only an hour before sunrise, he sat on the edge of the bed, kissed Emy and told her:
-I’m going to train, the sun will be up soon will you be late for your classes?
-I just want to sleep a little longer. -Emy said in a sleepy voice.
-Well, get some rest, I’ll be back in an hour. -Mart said before leaving the room.
