Chapter 817: The Fairy Realm
In the meantime, after leaving the fortress and ensuring the elves were settled, Shane spent the next few hours handling matters across his shelters.
Supplies had to be sorted, manpower redistributed, and security checked.
Only once he was satisfied that the Eclipse Domain and the others were running smoothly did he finally decide to turn his attention to something he had delayed for too long.
The Fairy Realm.
Shane stood in his chamber as he activated his title effect.
[ Fairy Realm’s Survivor: The Survivor gains the ability to travel to the Fairy Realm for 8 hours once a week. The Survivor also gains bonus points for Strength, Agility, Luck, and Perception. The title also provides immunity to Fairy Charms.
Requirements: Become a Lone Foreign Survivor of the Fairy Realm’s Apocalypse. ]
[ Do you wish to activate the Title’s Effect? ]
The system prompt inquired.
"Yes." Shane affirmed.
[ You will be transported to the Fairy Realm. The duration will be 8 hours ]
In an instant, the fabric of space seemed to twist and warp around him.
Just as the message said, he was being transported, and it was through some enigmatic form of spatial sorcery.
Whom~
In just a few moments, everything around him changed.
He suddenly felt relaxed and refreshed by the presence of pure mana in the surroundings. There was also the scent of blooming flowers, fresh earth, and a cool breeze coming from somewhere.
When his vision cleared, Shane found himself standing within the pocket dimension.
"Lord Shane!" a familiar voice chimed.
Axis, the palm-sized fairy, rushed toward him with her usual bright smile.
Shane couldn’t help but smile after seeing her tiny wings that left some shimmering trails in the wind...
"You’re finally here! I’ve been waiting."
Shane gave her a small nod. "Thanks for watching over this place."
At the center of the realm, the colossal World Tree was still there...
Shane gently bowed at it as he knew that it had consciousness. He had already experienced it once in his last visit.
"The crystals?" he asked.
Axis nodded excitedly.
"Mm-hm! Just as you wanted, the mana at the bottom of the lake has condensed into crystals. I collected as much as I could. And look..." She zipped toward the lake, pointing to the waters below. "There are more fish now! Silver Fish, Misty Koi, Emberfin Catfish... just like you requested. They’ve multiplied faster than I expected."
Shane’s gaze softened after seeing Axis talk excitedly...
If possible, he really wanted to visit this place as often as he could.
"Good. This will help a lot, Axis."
"That’s not all!" Axis grabbed his sleeve and tugged him toward the warehouse.
"You have to see this!"
Inside, Shane’s eyes widened slightly.
The once modest storage area was now stacked high with jars of honey. It was an incredible sight, like he was seeing some sort of liquified gold.
"Whoa~" Shane couldn’t hide his smile after reaching this thought.
Well, he could certainly trade the honey for gold, and there would be a lot of people who would grab it.
After all, the quality of the honey he had wasn’t something that others could easily find... Still, the amount he had wasn’t even enough for the residents of all his shelters, so selling them would only be done internally or perhaps, privately to other allies.
"The Forest Sprites brought these as what we’ve agreed before..." Axis explained proudly.
"They even added a bit more since they wanted to stay friends with us." She then darted toward a wooden crate tucked neatly in the corner. "Look here!"
The crate was filled with red-hued mana crystals, each glowing faintly.
"These are what we’ve found in the mountain cave before!" Axis declared as she proudly introduced the red mana crystals.
"They’re not like the ones from the lake... They’re harder, denser. I think you’ll find them more useful."
Shane bent down, picked up one of the crystals, and studied it.
He could immediately sense the difference. It wasn’t just mana, but something refined, almost volatile.
"Good work," Shane said simply as he knew that the elves would surely find this all interesting.
Axis beamed after hearing Shane’s praise.
Finally, she led him to the fields.
It was neatly organized rows of crops.
The harvest had already been gathered into woven baskets.
There were grains, fruits, herbs, and vegetables that looked healthier than any Shane had seen in the outside world.
"It’s all here..." Axis said softly. She had taken extra care harvesting these crops since she knew about Shane’s situation outside. There was a Zombie Apocalypse, and resources were limited.
Shane smiled at the small fairy once again as his gaze swept across the flourishing Fairy Realm.
"Thank you..." He said and placed his hand gently on Axis’s head. "You’ve done more than I expected."
Axis flushed, her tiny face turned rosy as she tried to look stern.
"I-it’s nothing! I’m just doing my duty! But... you’re welcome."

Shane then turned his gaze back to the World Tree.
He stepped closer and bowed respectfully.
After that, he touched one of its roots and spoke in his mind.
"Great One... I humbly ask if you can spare me a gift once again... Leaves, bark, branches, roots, fruit... anything that could aid me in surviving the outside world."
The World Tree remained silent for a moment...
At this time, Axis was also silent as she knew what Shane was trying to do. She could only hope that the Grand Elder, or the World Tree, would hear his words.
After a few moments, when Shane thought that it didn’t work, the leaves started rustling faintly.
Then, as though answering, a faint wave of mana began to pulse through its trunk.
Axis blinked in surprise.
"O-oh! It’s responding to you!" she whispered while flitting closer to Shane’s shoulder.
Before their eyes, several leaves detached themselves from the higher branches.
They floated down gracefully before landing gently in Shane’s hands.
