Chapter 816: Elves’ New Home

Chapter 816: Elves’ New Home

Shane gave one last glance at the elves standing in perfect formation within the command hall.

The 30 Epic Elves and 5 Legendary Elves seemed to like their current situation...

There were a lot of them here, and no one would be out of place.

Furthermore, their loyalty was evident in the way they carried themselves.

Shane then gave them a few instructions on how they should live here for now, and of course, he also left them some food and a few Mana Crystals just in case they needed them.

Satisfied with his arrangement, he finally turned away.

"We’ll leave them here for now," Shane said...

"There’s still too much work waiting in the Eclipse Domain and our other shelters. Resources have arrived, but they’re useless unless we distribute and put them to work."

Raze raised a brow. "And the Vampire Lord?"

Shane smiled...

"Scouts are already monitoring the suspected area. We can delay the hunt for one more day. Better to make sure our shelters are fortified and stocked before we launch an all-out strike. Once everything is ready..." He paused...

"...we’ll bombard their nest and make sure they never rise again."

The others nodded. None argued with his decision...

Without further words, Shane and his team departed the fortress, descending into the skies below using the elevator platform...

Inside the floating fortress, the elves slowly broke formation.

Elandor, the Archmage, was the first to speak, as he looked around.

"This fortress... It’s unlike any structure I’ve seen in centuries. It lacks mana at its core, yet its walls is filled with power. What a strange technology."

"Did I hear it correctly? Commander Shane promised more Mana Crystals soon... I wonder where he’s getting them. Mana Crystals don’t just form out of nowhere." Zarion muttered.

He was the Master Artisan who had a hammer strapped to his back. "I hope he can bring a lot. With proper mana infusion, these constructs I’m seeing could rival even the oldest elven citadels. Until then, we’ll have to make do. I’ll start identifying what needs reinforcing."

As he said this, he immediately started moving.

Once Shane returned, he wanted to report what he had found out that may need improvement.

After staying within the mysterious gray fog for a long time, he had already had enough rest.

He wasn’t planning to just look around and do nothing. He wanted some work to be done.

Sylas, on the other hand, leaned against one of the walls as he tried to feel the energy coming from it.

"Interesting... But it doesn’t matter if it runs on mana or not. What matters is we’ve got the Fairy Queen’s Blessed leading us. If he says the Crystals are coming, then they are."

Serenya chuckled at their conversation. To be honest, she had a different concern...

"I’m sure that the Queen had plans for him, and that’s enough for me. For now, I’m curious if you’re all just going to ignore the slime hugging his body. That seemed to be a Metal Slime, a very rare one."

Apparently, Silver, or Shane’s Metal Slime, was not missed by the elves. With their natural connection to nature and creatures with mana, they had incredible senses, and there was no way for them to miss such a powerful slime connected to Shane.

Brion didn’t reply as he wasn’t interested in that slime. After all, he could recall how he also had a horned rabbit as a pet. Since Shane was interested in Slime, even if they were terrible, he’d just respect his decision.

"Let’s familiarize ourselves with this place..." He finally said after some time...

Elandor liked this idea and agreed with him... "Then let us explore."

Just like that, the group of 35 spread out across the fortress, moving in pairs or small clusters.

Some wandered through the crew quarters, noting the simple but functional living arrangements.

It was definitely different from how the elves lived, but it was acceptable.

They found sturdy bunks, storage lockers, and a communal hall that could house hundreds once fully staffed.

Others inspected the training grounds, a wide chamber with armored flooring designed to withstand even high-level sparring.

Serenya then found a small garden, where strange mechanical systems cycled water and light to feed crops. Indeed, this small garden was growing herbs, spices, and other edible crops, and it was quite an impressive sight.

"Remarkable," she whispered.

"A garden sustained without nature’s touch... and yet it thrives."

As for Zarion, he found his way to the workshop decks. His eyes lit up as he inspected inactive forges and crafting bays.

"Once mana flows here, I’ll make wonders the Blessed has yet to imagine." He was confident about this since he had noticed that Shane’s equipment didn’t have enough mana or enchantments.

Once he was allowed to work, he would surely surprise Shane with high-quality elven products.

In the meantime, Sylas just checked the outer decks as he was curious about the ground below...

Furthermore, he wanted to see the fortress’s defenses.

"There’s a lot of cannons... This flying fortress will be unstoppable." Sylas muttered as he knew that if this fortress decided to target a land or a city, that area would definitely be flattened by these many cannons.

Meanwhile, Brion stood on the observation deck with several of the Epic Elves. They were only gazing at the clouds drifting around them...

It was then that the low rumble of machinery stirred through the fortress.

A signal light flashed along the wall, and the elevator platform began to descend once more.

The elves turned curiously toward the movement.

Moments later, the platform rose again, carrying a group of humans.

Eight figures stepped into the fortress...

Three of them wore aprons and carried packs filled with knives, herbs, and spices. Apparently, they were chefs that Shane had sent from the Eclipse Domain.

Behind them were five mechanics dressed in work gear with belts full of tools.

The eight of them couldn’t help but appreciate that they were all sent here to work! They liked this place so much!
