Chapter 809: More Mech Zombies
The battlefield became even more chaotic the instant Diana gave her command.
The Warden Units surged forward in perfect formation while carrying their shields in front.
Because of the black smoke, their vision or sensors had also been interfered. However, with their Sentinel Sphere and Shield, they couldn’t be easily taken out.
Now, with the help of the Electric Shock Grenades, an opportunity came to turn the momentum!
Bzzt!
The electric charge still lingered in the black fog, leaving dozens of Fleshy Mech Zombies twitching and momentarily disoriented.
“Advance! Shield wall… Press!”
The metallic stomps of the remaining Wardens became a signal for the Survivors as they all moved with synchronized steps.
Thud!
Then, their master-grade swords slashed forward, cutting through the flesh or mechanized bodies of the Zombies!
Ssaakk—
Blades plunged through skulls, severed spines, and smashed into the jawbones of the Zombies.
The front line of Fleshy Mech Zombies fell one after another, but their engines continued spewing out Black smoke as if they were
Above, the automated turrets rattled nonstop as the Warden Units provided information about the rough location of the Zombies.
Then, the gunners cheered as the flamethrowers burned the abominations in fire, reducing them to ashes.
But the Fleshy Mech Zombies were not ordinary fodder.
The black smoke thickened once more, pouring from their engines.
‘Just how does that engine work?’ Diana was confused as she couldn’t help but feel curious about this new type of Zombie.
It wasn’t really that powerful, considering it was a Mid-Tier Zombie and not a High-Tier, but it was definitely an annoying opponent with all the black fog they were creating.
Still, the black fog didn’t seem harmful as the Warden Units didn’t detect any harmful substance within it.
Because of that, Diana believed that their Survivors had nothing to worry about as well.
‘But there must be a leader controlling them or something…’ Diana thought as she turned to Asad, who had just arrived.
This Necromancer should be more than enough to deal with the Zombie Leader or Zombie King controlling these Fleshy Mech Zombies.

After a few moments, when the stun from the grenades faded, the creatures came roaring back into the fray.
Their claws slammed against the Warden shields like hammers, driving some units back a step.
Other Fleshy Mech Zombies were also preparing for a dash or a jump after a few moments.
Diana watched as their engines flared before they pounced forward and easily crossed several meters in a single leap!
“Wardens, tighten formation!” Diana ordered as she realized that they were planning to bypass the Warden Units.
However, they had become easy targets for the numerous Turrets monitoring the battlefield.
The Turret’s muzzles lifted just in time to catch the leaping monsters midair.
Bang!
At the same time, the Survivors on the walls joined the fight in full force.
Archers drew their Compound Bows and loosed their arrows with rapid succession!
They were mostly arrows coated in oil, which burst into fire mid-flight as they struck their targets. Snipers, on the other hand, shifted to rapid fire, using their skills or even talents to cut through the black fog…
Loreen, especially, her Enhanced Reflexes let her catch glimpses of distorted silhouettes in the smoke and snap off shots that burst their skulls.
The gladiators Diana had recruited earlier joined the fight as well.
Standing atop the barricades, they hurled weighted nets down onto the Fleshy Mechs, pinning them long enough for turrets to tear them apart.
One of them had even vaulted down to join the Wardens on the ground!
Just like that, more and more Survivors helped the Warden Units clear Zombies from the ground despite the Black Fog blocking their eyesight!
Unfortunately, even if the smoke wasn’t filled with a virus or poison, it became suffocating after an extended period.
Their bodies might have been enhanced by the Leveling System, but they weren’t invincible. Their bodies still had a limit.
In just a few moments, Wardens struggled once again to detect enemies through their sensors…
The battle was simply taking longer than expected. Some zombies had even clambered onto their backs, claws screeching against metal plating and tearing at exposed joints.
“Hold! Don’t break formation!”
Diana then hurled one of her own Electric Shock Grenades directly into the thickest cluster.
It went off with a snap, and arcs of lightning had once again caused havoc through the smoke…
She immediately heard the shrieks of stunned Zombies as the Wardens surged forward to finish them.
Then, Diana watched as more and more Survivors entered the black fog to fight against the Fleshy Mech Zombies.
Aside from the new Gladiators, Diana saw several Elves, Hybrid Humans, Super Soldiers, Knights, and some other normal Soldiers joining the battle.
Still, Asad, the Necromancer, remained behind, waiting for a strong opponent to come.
Diana knew that he could summon some Death Knights, Mummy Lord, Lich, Skeleton King, and even Wraith Queen…
Because of that, she felt more confident with their defense and that she wouldn’t have to use her trump cards in this battle.

Soon, Diana saw her first Legendary Recruits joining… They were Gregor the Axe User and Kaela, the Halberd User.
These two were normally outside the shelter as they were tasked to thin out the number of Zombies roaming around their shelter.
They were doing great on that task.
With their addition, the overall strength of their defense had gone higher… Soon, the hundreds of Fleshy Mech Zombies were overwhelmed by hundreds of Survivors, Recruits, and defensive weapons mounted on the walls.
The Fleshy Mechs were dying in droves, as their heads exploded in the unstoppable assault.
The turrets continued to pulverize the zombies as everyone else pushed the horde step by step away from the barrier.
But then…
A deafening sound rumbled…
VVVVVROOOOMMMM!
It wasn’t the roar of a turret, nor the shriek of a zombie.
It was a deeper engine or mechanical noise!
It was like a massive engine coming to life!
