Chapter 810: Borrowed from Shane

Chapter 810: Borrowed from Shane

“It’s coming…” Diana muttered as the ground trembled. She already expected this, but it was still quite a terrifying scene.

Just like that, out of the smoke emerged a towering figure. It was nearly three meters tall, smaller than Giant Zombies or some King-Type Zombies, but it was still huge.

Furthermore, its body was far more grotesquely mechanized than the others…

It had metal bones fused with muscle, armored plating grafted over its chest and limbs. Then, two massive engines protruded from its back…

Unlike the single-engined Fleshy Mech Zombies, this huge Zombie had twin engines and was belching black smoke without stopping…

It seemed like the Fleshy Mech Leader Zombie or maybe even King Zombie…

‘Now… That looks scary.’ Diana thought after seeing its eyes glow with crimson light. It was far brighter than its kin.

Unlike the wild, jerking motions of lesser Fleshy Mech Zombies, this one moved as if it already knew what to do to its targets.

It didn’t take long before this Zombie was able to dash forward.

It had a faster dash and longer range than the others!

The Wardens braced upon seeing the dash as their shields locked… But the moment the leader dashed–

BOOOOM!

It crashed into the formation like a runaway truck.

The shockwave sent several Wardens flying back as their shields warped from the impact!

This commander or leader didn’t stop.

Its hands found two Wardens in one motion and crumpled them like paper.

Their Sentinel Spheres tried to protect them, but the Zombie didn’t even seem to notice this barrier. It was simply too strong!

On the wall, Diana’s face hardened.

“That one’s different… far stronger. Sir Asad…” Diana muttered as she turned to the Necromancer.

Asad finally stepped forward. He was fully equipped with his new Dark Mage set, and he was eager to try his newfound powers.

After a few moments, he summoned his Grimoire and raised his Staff. Its skull-topped crown rattled as if it were alive and was anticipating the battle.

Suddenly, the gaze of the Fleshy Mech Leader fixed on him, almost recognizing him as the true threat.

“Hoh~ Is it that intelligent? This may not be a Leader Zombie but a King Zombie…” Asad muttered to himself as he watched its twin engines howl as if mocking the Necromancer…

Soon, the black smoke surged thicker around its body like a shroud.

“Stay behind the walls…” Asad’s voice could be heard across the battlefield. “This one is mine.”

Although there were dozens of Legendary Recruits in the Shelter and they were willing to fight against the huge Zombie, they still followed Asad’s words.

After all, they may be Legendary Recruits, but their weapons and equipment weren’t at the same level.

Most of them only had an Epic-Grade Set.

Nonetheless, without waiting for a reply, Asad summoned his undead creatures.

“Since Shane sent me here… I have to work harder.” Asad muttered.

To be honest, he wanted to see Shane’s floating castle… He heard that Shane wanted to release it in order to obliterate the Vampire Lord’s secret base.

Yes… Shane was apparently planning to destroy the whole mountain or city ruins where the Vampire Lord might be hiding. He didn’t plan to send elites or a small group of Survivors to hunt the Vampire Lord. He was planning to use technology to do it for him.

‘I hope I can board it later…’ Asad thought as he wasn’t sure if Shane would immediately bombard the Vampire Lord’s suspected base or would wait for a clearer report.

Nonetheless, from the depths of the earth, three Death Knights rose upon his calling… They were also towering, armored figures with black greatswords blazing with black fire…

Their presence alone froze the nearby Survivors in awe.

Then, the air became colder as the Wraith Queen suddenly formed out of nowhere. Its form was half ethereal, half skeletal, but it seemed more terrifying than the Death Knights.

Then, the Skeleton King appeared next. With its crown of bones and colossal halberd, it made its presence known with a roar that was quite unexpected from a skeleton…

Still, this roar summoned swarms of skeletal warriors, and ghastly revenants emerged, filling the black fog…

Well, this saved Asad some Spirit Points since he no longer had to summon some cannon fodder for them.

Just like that, the horde of undead clashed against the Fleshy Mech Leader or King and the remaining zombies.

BOOOOM!

This twin-engined Zombie also roared, and it rammed its bulk into the Death Knights, sending one sliding back…

It was powerful but not enough to topple the Death Knight…

Furthermore, the other two swung simultaneously, and their greatswords bit into its mechanized hide.

Clank!

From here, they confirmed that this commander had more mechanical parts than flesh parts as they were met with more sparks than gore from that exchange…

Yet, the beast roared… It was unfazed, and its engines started fueling more monstrous strength.

Then the Wraith Queen unleashed her scream.

The sound distorted the fog, shattering the senses of the lesser Fleshy Mech Zombies and making the commander stumble for a brief moment.

“As expected… you’re resistant…” Asad muttered with a smile.

He lifted his staff, and the earth cracked once more.

From beneath the Fleshy Mech Leader’s feet, chains of bone erupted, binding its limbs!

‘That cost me 400 Spirit Points…’ Asad thought to himself as he believed that it was enough to restrain the Zombie for some time…

Then, at the same moment, the Lich appeared, flying high above the smoke…

This Lich’s hands were glowing with dark green flames… It gathered more flame for a moment before launching a barrage of it that exploded against the zombie’s armor.

Each blast tore away its metal plating, exposing pulsing flesh that seemed to have fused with machinery.

The creature roared louder, and it seemed to be the sign for its engines to exceed their limits!

VVVVRRROOOOOOOMMM!

The Fleshy Mech commander broke free from the bones Asad summoned… For a brief moment, it ripped through the bone chains like paper.

But Asad knew that the Zombie commander couldn’t do this without expending so much energy…

‘That engine… I want it…’ Asad said as he held the Lootkeeper’s Timepiece, an item he borrowed from Shane.
