Chapter 1700: Chapter 837: Joining the Blood Ghost Sect? (Part 2)
The man in the black robe led them to an even more eerie hall. At the end of the hall, there was a tall throne, and on the throne sat an elderly man in a black robe. The elder’s face was covered in wrinkles, and his eyes flickered with a cold light.
"Elder, these two have passed the test and become new members of our Blood Ghost Sect," the man in the black robe said respectfully.
"Very good." The elder’s voice was hoarse and deep, "From today on, you must follow the rules of our Blood Ghost Sect and serve us."
"Yes," Mo Han and Qing Shuang answered in unison.
"You may leave." The elder waved his hand.
The man in the black robe led them out of the hall.
"What do you plan to do next?" Mo Han asked Qing Shuang.
"First, let’s get a sense of the situation here, then figure out a way to contact Luo Chen," Qing Shuang said.
"Alright," Mo Han nodded.
The two began to walk around the castle, gathering information.
They found that there were many disciples of the Blood Ghost Sect in the castle, all busy with cultivation or carrying out various tasks.
The castle also had many secret rooms and mechanisms, looking very dangerous.
Cautiously, the two avoided these dangers and continued exploring the castle.
Suddenly, they heard the sounds of fighting coming from a room.
The two exchanged a glance and quietly approached the room.
Through the crack of the door, they saw several black-robed men besieging a young woman.
The woman was dressed in white and wielded a Longsword with skillful swordsmanship, but she was clearly no match for the black-robed men and had suffered numerous injuries.
"Is it her?" Mo Han said in surprise.
"You know her?" Qing Shuang asked.
"She’s the woman I saw in the Crystal Ball who saved my mother," Mo Han said.
"Then we need to rescue her," Qing Shuang said.
The two pushed open the door and rushed in.
"Stop!" Mo Han shouted.
The black-robed men paused and turned to look at them.
"Who are you?" one of the black-robed men asked.
"We’re here to rescue her," Mo Han said.
"Courting death!" the black-robed man yelled, charging towards them.
A melee ensued.
Mo Han and Qing Shuang joined forces to fight against the black-robed men. The woman in white also joined the battle.
Together, the three quickly defeated the black-robed men, knocking them to the ground.
"Thank you both for rescuing me," the woman in white said, her voice crisp and melodious.
"Are you alright?" Mo Han asked with concern.
"I’m fine, just some minor injuries," the woman in white said, "How did you end up here?"
"We’re investigating the Blood Ghost Sect," Mo Han said, "What about you? Why were they hunting you?"
"I..." the woman in white hesitated.
"Let’s leave here first and talk," Qing Shuang said.
The three left the room and found a safe place to hide.
"Can you tell us now?" Mo Han asked.
"My name is Bai Ling, and I’m from the Bai Family," the woman in white said, "Our family has been guarding a secret for generations, a secret related to the Blood Ghost Sect."
"What secret?" Qing Shuang asked.
"Our family guards a Divine Artifact that can suppress the Blood Ghost Sect’s power," Bai Ling said, "The Blood Ghost Sect has always wanted to obtain this artifact, so they’re hunting me."
"A Divine Artifact?" Mo Han’s heart skipped a beat, "Could it be the place mentioned in the Crystal Ball?"
"You know that place?" Bai Ling asked in surprise.
"I’ve seen some images in the Crystal Ball, and they mentioned a mysterious place," Mo Han said, "Is that place related to the artifact your family guards?"
"Exactly," Bai Ling nodded, "That place is where our family guards the Divine Artifact, and only our family’s bloodline can enter there."
"We should go there and take a look," Qing Shuang said, "Maybe we can find a way to deal with the Blood Ghost Sect."
"But it’s very dangerous, and apart from family members, anyone else who goes there never returns," Bai Ling said with worry.
"It’s not the time to worry about that," Mo Han said, "We must stop the Blood Ghost Sect’s plot."
"Alright then," Bai Ling sighed, "I’ll take you there."
"There’s no time to waste, we should set off now," Qing Shuang urged.
"Wait, I need to contact Luo Chen first," Mo Han said.
He took out a Communication Talisman and sent a message to Luo Chen, telling him about his and Qing Shuang’s plan.
"Let’s go," Mo Han said, putting away the Communication Talisman.
The three left the castle, heading towards the mysterious place Bai Ling mentioned.
On Luo Chen’s side, after distracting two black-robed figures, he knocked them unconscious and swiftly returned near the castle.
He waited for a while, but there was no sign of Qing Shuang and Mo Han coming out.
"Strange, why haven’t they come out yet?" He wondered to himself.
He thought for a moment and decided to enter the castle to check the situation.
He crept into the castle cautiously, looking around for Qing Shuang and Mo Han.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching from afar.
He quickly hid in a corner, observing secretly.
He saw several black-robed figures escorting a person over, that person was covered in wounds and looked extremely weak.
Luo Chen focused his gaze, and it turned out to be Mo Han’s uncle.
"Lock him up in the dungeon." One black-robed figure said.
The group escorted Mo Han’s uncle into a room.
Luo Chen followed quietly.
He stayed outside the door, hearing interrogation sounds coming from within.
"Speak, who did you tell that secret to?" A black-robed figure asked sharply.
"I... I didn’t tell anyone." Mo Han’s uncle said weakly.
"Not speaking? Then don’t blame me for being rude." The black-robed figure sneered.
Then, a scream sounded from the room.
Luo Chen couldn’t bear it anymore, he pushed the door open and rushed in.
"Let him go!" He shouted.
The black-robed figures turned towards him, murder intent flashing in their eyes.
"Who are you?" A black-robed figure asked.
"I’m the one here to rescue him." Luo Chen said.
"Courting death!" The black-robed figure roared and charged at him.
Luo Chen swung his sword to meet the enemy, engaging in fierce battle with the black-robed figures.
He fought against multiple adversaries without fear, his swordsmanship fierce, each move lethal.
The black-robed figures quickly fell into disadvantage, being beaten back by him.
"Quickly, go!" Luo Chen shouted to Mo Han’s uncle.
Mo Han’s uncle struggled to stand, running towards the doorway.
Luo Chen covered him, and the two escaped the room together.
"Hurry, close all exits, don’t let them escape!" A black-robed figure shouted.
The castle’s alarm blared, all exits were sealed.
"This is troubling." Luo Chen frowned.
"Follow me, I know a secret passage." Mo Han’s uncle said.
He led Luo Chen to a concealed corner, opening a hidden door.
The two squeezed through, sprinting along the secret passage.
Finally, they escaped the castle.
"Thank you for saving me." Mo Han’s uncle said, his voice weak.
"Are you alright?" Luo Chen asked.
"I’m fine, just a bit injured." Mo Han’s uncle said, "Why did you save me?"
"Because you’re Mo Han’s uncle." Luo Chen said, "Where is Mo Han now?"
"He... he went to a mysterious place with Qing Shuang, saying they were going to stop the Blood Vampire Sect’s plot." Mo Han’s uncle said.
"What place?" Luo Chen pressed.
Mo Han’s uncle explained the events to Luo Chen.
"Seems like we should go there and take a look." Luo Chen said.
"I’ll go with you, I know where that place is." Mo Han’s uncle said.
"Alright." Luo Chen nodded.
The three headed towards the mysterious place.
Meanwhile, Mo Han, Qing Shuang, and Bai Ling had arrived at the entrance of the mysterious place.
At the entrance, the three stopped.
The surroundings were deathly silent, the atmosphere suffocatingly oppressive.
"This is the entrance." Bai Ling’s voice trembled slightly, "Once we go in, life and death are uncertain."
"What’s to fear? If your head falls, you get a scar as big as a bowl." Qing Shuang feigned nonchalance, but a trace of tension flickered in his eyes.
