Capítulo 1699: Chapter 837: Joining the Blood Ghost Sect?

“Have you found out any news?” Luo Chen asked.

“There’s indeed a Blood Ghost Sect base nearby, but it’s heavily guarded. It won’t be easy for us to get in,” Qing Shuang replied.

“Forcing our way in is definitely out of the question. We need to think of a way to outsmart them,” Luo Chen said.

“I do have an idea,” Qing Shuang said in a lowered voice. “I’ve heard the Blood Ghost Sect recruits batches of newcomers at intervals. We could blend in.”

“That’s an option, but how can we avoid being discovered?” Luo Chen asked.

“That’s where Mo Han comes in,” Qing Shuang looked at Mo Han. “His necklace has some connection to the Blood Ghost Sect; perhaps we can use it to our advantage.”

Mo Han came out of the room. He had been studying the necklace and the Crystal Ball for a long time.

“I’ll give it a try,” Mo Han said.

He placed the necklace in his palm and channeled the Spiritual Power within him. The black and white colors on the necklace began to swirl, emitting a faint glow.

“There’s a reaction!” Qing Shuang said excitedly, “This means our plan is feasible.”

“No time like the present, let’s set off now,” Luo Chen decided swiftly.

The three left the inn and headed toward the Blood Ghost Sect’s base.

The base was located on a mountain outside the town, where an ancient castle stood, surrounded by black fog that looked eerie and frightening.

The three arrived near the castle and found two hooded guards at the entrance.

“What do we do?” Mo Han asked.

“I’ll divert them first, you two sneak in,” Luo Chen said.

“Be careful,” Qing Shuang cautioned.

Luo Chen nodded and walked toward the castle entrance.

He deliberately made some noise to attract the attention of the two hooded figures.

“Who goes there?” one hooded figure demanded harshly.

Luo Chen didn’t respond and turned to run.

The two hooded figures immediately gave chase.

Luo Chen led them to a distant place, then suddenly struck, knocking them unconscious.

Qing Shuang and Mo Han seized the chance to slip into the castle.

Inside the castle was even more ominous than outside, filled with black rocks and strange statues.

The two moved forward cautiously, fearing they might trigger some mechanism.

Suddenly, a chilling wind swept through, and several hooded figures appeared before them.

“Who are you?” one hooded figure asked.

“We’re here to join the Blood Ghost Sect,” Qing Shuang said.

“Join the Blood Ghost Sect?” The hooded figure looked them up and down, “What evidence do you have?”

Mo Han took out the necklace, and the black and white colors began to swirl, emitting a faint glow.

The hooded figure’s face changed at the sight of the necklace.

“Follow me,” he said.

The hooded figure led them to a hall with a huge Blood Pool at its center, where scarlet liquid churned, giving off an overwhelming stench of blood.

“This is the Blood Pool, our Blood Ghost Sect’s Holy Land,” the hooded figure said. “Only by passing the test of the Blood Pool can you become a true Blood Ghost Sect disciple.”

“How is the test conducted?” Mo Han asked.

“Jump in,” the hooded figure pointed to the Blood Pool.

Mo Han hesitated, sensing an evil force within the Blood Pool that made him uneasy.

“What, afraid?” The hooded figure sneered, “If you don’t dare, get lost.”

“Who said I was afraid?” Mo Han gritted his teeth and jumped into the Blood Pool.

The blood within the pool immediately submerged him, and he felt a powerful force tearing at his body as if trying to rip him apart.

He endured the intense pain, channeling his Spiritual Power to resist the force.

After a long while, he finally crawled out of the Blood Pool.

He was covered in blood, looking quite a mess, but he felt his powers had enhanced significantly.

“Very well, you’ve passed the test,” the hooded figure said, “From now on, you’re a member of the Blood Ghost Sect.”

Qing Shuang also wanted to jump into the Blood Pool but was stopped by the hooded figure.

“You lack the token, cannot enter the Blood Pool,” he said.

“Then what should I do?” Qing Shuang asked.

“You can undergo other tests,” the hooded figure said, “Follow me.”

The hooded figure led Qing Shuang to another room, where a massive furnace burned with fierce flames.

“Jump into the furnace, if you can come out alive, you’ll have passed the test,” the hooded figure said.

Qing Shuang looked at the flames in the furnace, feeling a chill at heart. This was no joke; a single moment of carelessness could cost one’s life.

“What, afraid?” The hooded figure taunted.

Qing Shuang took a deep breath; she couldn’t back down here. She gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, and leaped into the furnace.

The flames instantly engulfed her, and the intense heat made her feel like she was about to be scorched.

She endured the severe pain, channeling her Spiritual Power to form a protective layer around her body, resisting the flames’ incursion.

After what seemed an eternity, she felt she was nearing her limit when suddenly a refreshing sensation emerged from within her, swiftly spreading throughout her body.

This refreshing sensation alleviated the burning brought by the flames, making her feel much better.

She opened her eyes and found herself unscathed, as if the furnace’s flames had lost their effect on her.

“What happened?” she wondered.

“You can actually endure the furnace’s flame?” The hooded figure said surprised, “Seems you have some skill.”

Qing Shuang jumped out of the furnace, puzzled herself by what happened.

“You’ve passed the test,” the hooded figure said, “From now on, you’re also a member of the Blood Ghost Sect.”

Qing Shuang and Mo Han exchanged a glance, they had finally managed to infiltrate the Blood Ghost Sect successfully.

“Now, follow me, I’ll take you to meet the Elders,” the hooded figure said.
