Chapter 1704: Chapter 839: Escape and Another Infiltration!

She fled to a secluded corner, took out a Communication Talisman, but never received a response. Anxious emotions spread in her heart.

"Luo Chen? Mo Han? Where are you?" she murmured softly, a sense of unease surging like a tide.

Mo Han was forced into a dead-end alley, two men in black robes blocked the exit with mocking smiles on their faces.

"Run! Why aren’t you running?" one of them taunted, a cruel glint flickering in his eyes.

"Today is your death day!" the other echoed, his blade gleaming coldly.

Mo Han took a deep breath, a flash of despair in his eyes, replaced by a resolute fighting spirit.

He mobilized the scant Spiritual Power left in him, fists clenched, the wind of his punches howling with a do-or-die momentum, pushing one of the black-robed men back several steps.

"Interesting! Come again!" The black-robed man, far from being intimidated, was even more excited, a battle spirit burning in his eyes.

Mo Han was outmatched as he fought one against two, with more and more wounds on his body, staining his clothes with blood.

Just as he was about to collapse, a familiar figure descended from the sky, the Longsword in hand cutting through the night, bringing a fierce Sword Light.

"Mo Han! I’m here to help you!" Luo Chen’s voice was like a heavenly hymn, bringing a glimmer of hope to Mo Han.

The two fought side by side, working perfectly in harmony, quickly killing the two black-robed men.

"Are you alright?" Luo Chen asked with concern, his gaze falling on Mo Han’s wounds.

"I won’t die." Mo Han shook his head, feigning a relaxed tone, but unable to hide his fatigue.

"What about Qing Shuang?"

"Still haven’t reached her." Luo Chen frowned.

As soon as he spoke, Qing Shuang appeared at the alley entrance, a look of urgency on her face.

"Are you alright?"

"We’re fine, what about you?"

"I’m fine too."

The three finally reunited, and their tense nerves finally relaxed.

"Where’s uncle?" Qing Shuang thought of Mo Han’s uncle who stayed behind alone, her heart tightened.

"He stayed behind to cover us..." Mo Han’s tone was low, carrying a trace of guilt.

"We have to rescue him!" Luo Chen’s tone was firm.

"But... we can hardly protect ourselves now..." Qing Shuang’s tone held helplessness.

"No matter what, we can’t leave him behind!" Mo Han’s tone was resolute, a determined light flickered in his eyes.

"Let’s find a place to hide first, then plan carefully." Luo Chen suggested.

The three found an abandoned estate and settled down temporarily.

In the deep, silent night, only the occasional sound of insect chirps broke the tranquility.

Suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps alerted Luo Chen.

"Who?" he asked in a low voice, the Longsword in hand already unsheathed.

"It’s me." A familiar voice came, it was Mo Han’s uncle.

"Uncle! You’re alright!" Mo Han exclaimed with a mix of surprise and joy.

"I led them away." Mo Han’s uncle spoke calmly, but the many wounds on him showed he had been through a fierce battle.

"What do you plan to do next?" he asked.

"We plan to save those captured by the Blood Ghost Sect." Mo Han’s tone was firm.

"That’s too dangerous! You can’t go!" Mo Han’s uncle tried his best to dissuade.

"We can’t ignore it!"

"Alright, I will accompany you." Uncle Mo Han finally conceded, knowing he couldn’t stop them.

"The more people, the greater our strength and chances of success," he added.

The four of them discussed it for a moment and decided to infiltrate the Blood Ghost Sect stronghold by night.

The night was thick as ink, like a giant hand tightly gripping the earth’s throat.

Four figures, like phantoms in the dark, stealthily moved along the rugged mountain path leading to the Blood Ghost Sect’s stronghold.

Surrounding them was an eerie silence, broken only by the wind rustling through the treetops, resembling the reluctant whispers of Lost Souls.

The deliberately muted footsteps of the group echoed clearly in the deathly quiet.

"Uncle, is this path... really safe?" Mo Han’s voice trembled slightly in the night wind, carrying an unmistakable hint of worry.

He clenched his fist tighter, knuckles turning white from exertion, his palm long soaked with sweat.

"Don’t worry, this secret passage is known to very few in the world. I discovered it by chance in my early years." Uncle Mo Han, walking steadily at the front, spoke with a calm and powerful voice, like a calming pill, providing the group with invisible strength. "As long as we act cautiously, those Blood Ghost Sect scum won’t find us."

Qing Shuang followed closely behind Luo Chen, her slender fingers gripping the Magic Wand tightly, as the wand emitted a faint chill, seemingly alert to the hidden dangers with its master.

Her gaze, sharp like a hawk’s, swept over every shadow, not missing any slight movement.

Luo Chen guarded the rear, the Longsword in his hand gleamed with a cold light in the darkness, reflecting his resolute face.

He could sense Qing Shuang’s tension and Mo Han’s worries, but he had to stay calm, for he was the pillar of the team, their hope.

The four passed through a dense forest, shadows cast by the trees resembling clawing ghosts, and arrived before a steep cliff.

"The entrance to the secret passage is here." Uncle Mo Han pointed to a hidden cave cloaked by vines on the cliff wall, his voice carrying a hint of gravity.

The four pushed aside the dense vines and squeezed into the entrance.

Inside the cave, it was pitch black, not a finger could be seen, as if leading to the abyss of Hell.

Qing Shuang took out a Luminous Pearl from her bosom, and its gentle light instantly dispelled the darkness, illuminating their surroundings.

The cave was narrow and damp, the air filled with a decaying stench that was nauseating.

The four proceeded cautiously along the cave, each step treading on unknown dangers.

After an unknown amount of time, a faint sliver of light appeared ahead, flickering like a glimmer of hope in the darkness.

"We’re almost there." Uncle Mo Han’s voice carried a trace of relief.

The four quickened their pace, emerging from the cave into a vast underground cavern.

In the cavern’s center, a huge Blood Pool appeared, its crimson liquid boiling like molten lava, exuding a nauseating stench as if it could devour a person’s soul.

Around the Blood Pool stood dozens of figures in black robes, faces twisted with fierce killing intent, like demons crawling out from Hell.

"This is... one of the Blood Ghost Sect’s strongholds." Uncle Mo Han’s voice was low and heavy, "Those they capture are imprisoned here, subjected to inhuman torture."

"How... do we rescue them?" Qing Shuang’s voice trembled slightly, her brows furrowed, clear eyes filled with worry.

"The place is heavily guarded, rushing in would be suicide." Luo Chen’s gaze, sharp as an eagle’s, swept over each robed figure, observing the surroundings as strategies rapidly formed in his mind.

"I know a secret passage leading to where the hostages are held." Uncle Mo Han suddenly spoke, his voice tinged with hope, "But this passage is very dangerous, full of traps, one careless step could lead to eternal downfall."

"At this point, we can’t worry about that." Mo Han’s eyes were firm as iron, "Rescuing people is urgent, even if it’s a path of swords and fire, I must tread it!"

"Alright, I’ll take you there." Uncle Mo Han nodded, his eyes filled with admiration, "Stay close to me, don’t get separated. This place is riddled with traps; one wrong step leads to another."

The four followed Uncle Mo Han, bypassing the Blood Pool emitting a strong stench, reaching the other side of the cavern.

Uncle Mo Han fumbled on an ordinary-looking stone wall for a while, and suddenly, a hidden door appeared on the stone wall, silently opening.

"Here is the entrance to the secret passage." Uncle Mo Han’s voice carried a trace of determination, "Once inside, be very careful, and remember, don’t act rashly."

The four entered one after another, the hidden door closing slowly behind them, shutting the light out.

Inside the secret passage, it was pitch black, narrower than the previous cave, allowing only one person to pass through with difficulty, like a narrow corridor leading to Hell.
