Chapter 1728: Chapter 851: Gravely Wounded! Saving Luo Chen! (Part 2)
“Hahaha, go to hell!” the Emperor laughed wildly, punching Luo Chen in the chest and sending him flying.
“Luo Chen!” Qing Shuang exclaimed, rushing over to support Luo Chen.
“Cough cough!” Luo Chen spat out a mouthful of blood, his face pale as paper, “I… I can’t hold on any longer.”
“No! You will be fine!” Qing Shuang cried, holding Luo Chen tightly, afraid of losing him.
“Hahaha, you’re next!” The Emperor laughed as he stepped toward Qing Shuang and Mo Han.
“What to do? What should we do?” Mo Han asked desperately, having no other solutions left.
“It seems we have no choice but to use that move,” the mysterious hero suddenly said, a look of determination in his eyes.
“What move?” Mo Han asked.
“Perish together!” the mysterious hero declared, “With my life, I’ll seal the Blood Demon’s true form!”
“No! Don’t!” Mo Han and Qing Shuang shouted in unison.
“This is the only way!” the mysterious hero said, “You must leave now, leave this to me!”
After finishing, the mysterious hero took a deep breath and began to burn his own life force.
His body started to emit a dazzling light, and a powerful energy surged from within him.
“No! Don’t!” Mo Han and Qing Shuang shouted, their hearts breaking, but they were powerless, forced to watch as the mysterious hero approached death.
“Hahaha, you want to seal me? It’s not that easy!” the Emperor laughed maniacally, flapping his massive wings and charging towards the mysterious hero.
“Seal Demon Mark!” the mysterious hero shouted, concentrating all his power into a massive seal, pressing it toward the Emperor.
“No—!” the Emperor let out a desperate roar, but it was too late; the seal locked him tightly. His body began to shrink rapidly, finally becoming a blood-red light sphere.
“With my life, I seal the Blood Demon’s true form! Never to reincarnate!” the mysterious hero used the last of his strength to embed the seal underground. Then his body transformed into starlight, dissipating into the air.
“Old master—!” Mo Han and Qing Shuang fell to their knees, crying out in anguish.
They knew the mysterious hero had sacrificed his life to seal the Blood Demon’s true form.
The tremors of the Underground Palace gradually subsided, leaving only the soft sound of settling dust, as if playing a requiem for this earth-shattering battle. Mo Han and Qing Shuang knelt on the ground, their eyes blurred with tears, unable to accept this cruel truth. The mysterious hero, claiming to be an old friend of Mo Han’s uncle, had indeed sacrificed his life to seal the Blood Demon’s true form.
Luo Chen’s situation was even worse; struck by the Blood Demon’s true form, his internal organs were severely damaged and he was now on the brink of death. Qing Shuang held him tightly, tears falling on his face, unable to awaken his sleeping consciousness.
“Luo Chen, wake up, don’t scare me…” Qing Shuang’s voice trembled with endless sorrow and fear. She was terrified that Luo Chen would leave her like this, leaving her alone to face this cold world.
Mo Han also knelt beside Luo Chen, holding his hand tightly, feeling it grow colder.
If he isn’t treated quickly, Luo Chen will likely die from this.
However, where to find treatment is another issue.
Their Loose Cultivator Alliance might be an option.
But it seems to be quite far away.
Qing Shuang isn’t even sure if they can make it back in time.
Qing Shuang hugged Luo Chen tightly, tears falling like broken beads, hitting Luo Chen’s pale face one by one. She softly called his name, her voice trembling uncontrollably, fearing he might permanently close his eyes the next moment.
Mo Han knelt beside, gripping Luo Chen’s hand, feeling it grow colder still. He knew that if they didn’t get help soon, Luo Chen might really…
“What to do? What to do?” Qing Shuang was at a loss, tears flowing even more fiercely, “There’s nothing here, how do we save him?”
Mo Han gritted his teeth, forcing himself to stay calm. He surveyed around; the Underground Palace had been severely damaged in the earlier battle, with ruins and debris everywhere, a complete wreck.
“Qing Shuang, don’t cry,” Mo Han’s voice was hoarse, “we need to find a way to get Luo Chen out of here. We can’t stay here long.”
“But, where to go?” Qing Shuang sobbed, her eyes filled with confusion, “The Alliance, it’s too far; we won’t make it in time.”
Mo Han’s gaze fell on a solidified blood pool nearby, and he had an idea. “Perhaps, we can try that place.”
“Where?” Qing Shuang looked up, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
“The Imperial Palace of the Tianyuan Empire,” Mo Han said, “Even though the Emperor is in control, there are surely Imperial Physicians in the palace who might save Luo Chen.”
“But, the palace is dangerous,” Qing Shuang hesitated, “and we don’t know how to get in.”
“We can’t worry about that now,” Mo Han said, “we must take the risk; it’s better than waiting here to die.”
Qing Shuang looked at the unconscious Luo Chen in her arms, gritted her teeth, and finally made up her mind, “Okay, let’s go to the palace!”
Mo Han nodded, carefully carrying Luo Chen on his back and instructed Qing Shuang, “Support him, let’s move!”
The two helped each other, stumbling down the passage they had come, heading toward the Imperial Palace. Along the way, they encountered several groups of Blood Ghost Sect stragglers, but Mo Han used a curse to repel them.
After a difficult journey, they finally reached the surface, arriving at the abandoned palace.
“We’ll exit from here,” Mo Han pointed to a rockery mechanism, “I remember the way.”
Qing Shuang nodded, and together they opened the mechanism and exited the palace through the secret passage.
By now, the sky was already bright, the streets outside the palace bustling with people. Mo Han and Qing Shuang carried Luo Chen, blending into the crowd, cautiously avoiding patrol soldiers as they headed for the palace’s main gate.
“How do we get in?” Qing Shuang looked at the towering palace walls and heavily guarded soldiers, worried.
“We can’t force our way in,” Mo Han frowned, “We’ll have to think of something.”
At that moment, a luxurious carriage approached from afar, stopping at the palace gate. A lavishly dressed official emerged, seeming like he was attending court.
Mo Han’s eyes lit up, and he had an idea, “I have a plan,” he said to Qing Shuang, “Wait here, I’ll be back soon.”
With that, Mo Han quickly approached the carriage, sneaking in while the official was unobservant.
“Sir, sit tight,” the coachman’s voice came from outside.
The carriage slowly began moving towards the palace. Mo Han hid inside, silently praying for a smooth entry into the palace.
The carriage traveled unimpeded, soon reaching the palace entrance. The soldiers saw it was an official’s carriage, didn’t block it, and let it pass.
The carriage entered the palace, stopping in front of a palace building. Mo Han heard footsteps outside, realizing the official had disembarked.
He cautiously lifted the carriage curtain and saw the official heading towards the building. Seizing the opportunity, Mo Han jumped from the carriage and hid in a corner.
“Qing Shuang, I’m inside, hurry and come over!” Mo Han used the Sound Transmission Talisman to tell Qing Shuang.
Receiving the message, Qing Shuang quickly moved, carrying Luo Chen to meet up with Mo Han.
After reuniting, Mo Han led Qing Shuang and Luo Chen, avoiding patrolling soldiers as they headed towards the Emperor’s bedchamber.
“Why are we coming here?” Qing Shuang asked, puzzled, “Aren’t the Imperial Physicians supposed to be at the Imperial Hospital?”
“The Imperial Hospital is crowded and unsafe,” Mo Han explained, “There must be Imperial Physicians guarding the Emperor’s bedchamber, where security is looser, making it easier for us to act.”
