I want to take you wandering.

Chapter 11 Fate's Design (Part 2)

The stunned Su Ruiyi replayed the encounter scene in her mind countless times in those few seconds of eye contact!

This was the face she had never forgotten all these years, only that time had made this man's appearance even more imbued with the charm of a mature man.

Su Ruiyi, putting her embarrassment aside, asked in a well-behaved manner, "Brother, can I have your WeChat?"

Ou Yunchen appraised the girl from head to toe. She was indeed bold.

"No."

The refusal was so quick that it threw Su Ruiyi into awkwardness, but she was thick-skinned, and it wasn't impossible to keep the conversation going!

"Are you here to pick someone up? Which flight? Returning from LA?"

"Mm," Ou Yunchen responded.

"What a coincidence, I'm on the same flight. Um..."

Ou Yunchen suddenly realized he was holding the A4 paper with 'Su Ruiyi' written on it upside down, with the printed side facing inward. He glanced at the A4 paper in his hand, quickly flipped it over, and pretended to look towards the arrivals hall. He used his actions to tell the girl in front of him that he was waiting for someone and not to bother him.

Su Ruiyi quickly spotted the name on the A4 paper. Wasn't it her?!

Su Ruiyi could no longer hide the excitement on her face, her mind filled with fantasies of "Could it be that I've been chosen by this world?" She pointed at the paper with her finger, then pointed at herself, her face beaming with joy.

"Me, me, it's me! You're here to pick me up!"

Ou Yunchen finally showed a flicker of interest in the girl. He smiled, and that smile almost took Su Ruiyi's life.

Ou Yunchen folded the paper several times and put it in his pocket, then said in a cool tone, "Let's go."

Su Ruiyi quickly nodded and excitedly followed Ou Yunchen's steps. Wang Ziran, who had run over, immediately stopped her.

"Who is he?" Wang Ziran seemed a bit jealous.

"My god."

"What?"

"Oh, he's here to pick me up. My mom actually called such a handsome man to pick me up without telling me beforehand. I didn't even dress up properly."

Su Ruiyi pushed Wang Ziran's hand away, took out a small comb to style her bangs, and then, as if afraid of falling behind Ou Yunchen, ran after him.

Getting into Ou Yunchen's car, a white luxury Range Rover, the interior was spotless, devoid of any decorations. The scent of Jo Malone's Sea Salt and Sage mixed with the leather upholstery perfectly masked the almost imperceptible smell of cigarette smoke.

Ou Yunchen took off his jacket, about to throw it on the back seat. As he turned casually, he noticed Su Ruiyi was dressed thinly, her shoulders slightly hunched, her hands clasped together, looking like she had been shivering all the way.

Ou Yunchen still tossed his jacket onto the back seat and started the car. He silently pressed the button for the front passenger seat heater and turned up the car's air conditioning by two degrees.

It was Su Ruiyi who broke the silence this time.

"I still don't know your name?" Su Ruiyi said, looking at Ou Yunchen.

"Ou Yunchen."

"My name is Su Ruiyi." As she said this, the heiress extended her hand, wanting to shake hands in introduction.

"I know."

Unfortunately, Ou Yunchen merely nodded. Su Ruiyi awkwardly retracted her hand.

With one hand on the steering wheel, the car drove away from the airport parking lot.

"Do you know my home address? Do you need me to navigate for you?" Su Ruiyi continued to ask.

But Ou Yunchen had no intention of answering. He tapped the LCD screen and poked it with his finger. A navigation route to Su Ruiyi's home appeared on the screen.

"So you already have my home address."

"Then, why did my mom arrange for you to pick me up?"

Ou Yunchen looked ahead, driving seriously, "She had something to do."

"Are you and my mom... are you an employee of our family?"

Su Ruiyi asked so many questions!

Ou Yunchen glanced at the ever-curious girl from the corner of his eye. He didn't know how to describe his relationship with Mrs. Su, but he couldn't tell Su Ruiyi that he and Mrs. Su met at Athena.

"You can ask her," Ou Yunchen could only reply.

Su Ruiyi responded softly, still eager to know everything about this man.

Ever since she got into the car, Su Ruiyi had noticed the pendant hanging from the rearview mirror. Now it was clinking against a string of chanks.

Ou Yunchen drove with focus, while Su Ruiyi stole glances at him.

This man always answered just enough, and his demeanor exuded an aura of being unapproachable, which only made the twenty-year-old Su Ruiyi more infatuated.

What an interesting combination, one fiery, the other cold as ice.

Sometimes he was like a lonely hunter in the forest, always causing a maiden's heart to rush into his world like a clumsy fawn.

Su Ruiyi sighed inwardly time and again, look at him, his profile was so flawless!

In the silence, someone desperately wanted to ask, "Are you okay? What happened back then?" But in the end, all they could do was gaze foolishly.

The sudden quietness of Su Ruiyi made the atmosphere in the car awkward. Ou Yunchen, however, felt a constant sensation of being stared at on his right cheek. He coughed lightly and pressed the play button on the steering wheel.

As the cheerful melody began, Su Ruiyi softly hummed along to the chorus. It was a song she had recently shared on Weibo, and she had practiced the female duet part many times.

Ou Yunchen turned the volume down a little. The sensitive Su Ruiyi immediately stopped singing. Ou Yunchen then turned his head and smiled at her.

"You like this song too?"

Su Ruiyi nodded immediately.

Ou Yunchen turned the volume up again and hummed a tune himself, signaling Su Ruiyi to continue singing.

Su Ruiyi seemed to have received validation and began to sing freely, occasionally adding some cool little gestures.

Ou Yunchen parked the car. Su Ruiyi quickly got out and ran into her mother's arms. As Mrs. Su looked up, she saw Ou Yunchen's face. Her fleeting look of panic was caught by Ou Yunchen.

"Mom, you asked an outsider to pick me up and didn't tell me!"

Mrs. Su exchanged an awkward glance with Ou Yunchen. She hadn't expected Sister Hong to send Ou Yunchen to pick her up.

Mrs. Su: "He is... is a friend's... friend of Mom's!"

Ou Yunchen stood behind Su Ruiyi, watching with a cold smile as Mrs. Su fabricated an identity for him. Now they were friends.

Ou Yunchen: "Mrs. Su, I've delivered your daughter. I'll be going now."

Mrs. Su quickly stopped him, "Wait a moment, Yiyi, you go inside first. Mom still has something to say to Yun... Little Chen."

Mrs. Su watched her daughter leave reluctantly before she composed her smile.

"Why were you the one to pick Yiyi up?"

Ou Yunchen seemed indifferent. "I was just following Sister Hong's arrangement."

"You didn't say anything unnecessary to my daughter, did you?"

Ou Yunchen naturally knew what Mrs. Su was afraid of. He looked indifferently at the woman who had cried in his arms just days ago. Now that he possessed the very thing she feared, he was already contemplating how to use it to his advantage.

"Say what? Talk about our inappropriate relationship?"

"You can't let my daughter know you're a bartender at Athena!"

"Mrs. Su, have you forgotten so quickly? Thanks to you, I have a new identity."

Ou Yunchen opened the car door, lowered the window, and leaned on the door, tilting his head to look past Mrs. Su towards Su Ruiyi, who was peeking from behind the door. He waved in that direction. Su Ruiyi, hidden behind the door, immediately emerged and waved back.

Ou Yunchen then looked at Mrs. Su and said, "Next time you're feeling down, I won't be able to lend you my shoulder."

Ou Yunchen made a sharp turn, reversed, and quickly left the Su family's residence.

He now paused the music he was playing and switched to the original music folder.

A song titled "Dream Whisper" began to play. This was his preferred type of music.

As for those songs Su Ruiyi liked, he had downloaded them all after looking at her Weibo, having downloaded everything she had listened to. After all, Ou Yunchen was most adept at pleasing others.

Ou Yunchen rested his left hand on the steering wheel, his fingers tapping the rhythm to the music. With his right hand, he slowly pulled out a sparkling diamond bracelet from his pocket.

He held it up in the air to look at it, then hung it on the rearview mirror.

This bracelet, originally worn on Su Ruiyi's wrist, now became his means to return and see this girl again.

Everything seemed to be the work of fate, everything was perfectly arranged.
