Chapter 9 Change

Chapter 9 Changes

Ye Shenge listened carefully at the door for movement outside, not daring to disturb the lingering affection between the two.

"Where is she?"

"Sleeping. She made me so angry today."

After hearing his mother's complaints, Ye Xingguo quickly appeased her.

"Isn't Aunt Sun always straightforward? You've been together for a lifetime, why get angry over a few words?"

"Together? She comes over every day bragging about her ability to have children and how much her old man dotes on her. My life is so bitter. If your father hadn't died early, would I only have you? I would have had a whole brood."

"Yes, yes, it's all my father's fault. Leave the matter of having children to me from now on. I'll have ten or eight myself."

They whispered in the courtyard for a long time. When Ye Shenge got bored, she rubbed her eyes and walked out of the room.

"Oh, Shenge, you're awake. Dad brought meat today, let's have a good meal, the three of us."

Ye Shenge felt a sense of foreboding when she saw Ye Xingguo's smile, as he had never been this enthusiastic in her memory. Too much of a good thing often hid something.

Ye Shenge ignored Ye Xingguo and happily looked at Old Mrs. Ye.

"Really! Grandma, can my body handle meat?"

Ye Shenge wanted to give them some information, to make them feel she was becoming uncontrollable. Otherwise, how long would she have to wait for these two ghosts to make a move?

Old Mrs. Ye was choked by Ye Shenge's words, stuck between not knowing whether to laugh or cry. It was Ye Xingguo who smoothed things over.

"Look what you're saying, child. Your grandmother not letting you eat meat is for your own good."

"Oh, then I won't eat it."

Ye Shenge said, then turned back to her room. Normally, the original host would be cooking around this time. But today, Ye Shenge had every reason not to.

"Shenge, go cook. I need to talk to your grandma. You're a grown girl, you need to be more diligent."

Ye Shenge turned and smiled at Ye Xingguo.

"Grandma never lets me into the kitchen when she cooks meat. I'll cook when we're not eating meat tomorrow. Don't worry, I've always been diligent."

Old Mrs. Ye gritted her teeth, her face still smiling. This was the first time she had lost control of her emotions in front of the wretched girl. After all, the original host had always been obedient. How had she changed so much in just a few days?

"Heh, then Shenge should go rest."

If she was disobedient, she would be starved again today. No one could handle her.

"Then I'll make some noodles to eat after you're done. I haven't had white flour noodles in a long time." Sudan Novel Network

Ye Shenge said with a smile. Her body couldn't endure a night of starvation. Even with the space, she couldn't use it in this house right now.

It was the old fox Ye Xingguo whose mind worked fastest. He quickly tugged at his mother's hand.

"Alright, Shenge, go back to your room and rest. Dad will make you white flour noodles tonight to help you recuperate."

Ye Shenge smiled at them both and closed her door. After closing the door, she still leaned against it to listen. Her hands didn't stop. She took out a small, black round bean from her space.

When she heard the two outside truly enter the kitchen, she immediately walked to a hole in the wall and carefully pushed the black round bean to the opening on the other side, sticking it to the wall. This kind of eavesdropping device was the latest technology from her previous life, light and small. Ye Shenge blocked the hole with her leg and took out her tablet from her space to quickly adjust it.

When she saw the word "connected" on the tablet, she breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the tablet, Ye Shenge closed her eyes. All of this was prepared by her older brother for her. If there wasn't a lack of internet, she would have installed cameras all over the house to monitor the old woman's every move.

Ye Shenge only allowed herself a moment to reminisce. She put away the tablet and took out two more eavesdropping devices, placing them in her pocket.
