Chapter 76

Chapter 76: Chapter 76

In the farthest commercial area of the Academy in the city, everything was dark, every building, commercial premises, bars, brothels, were in darkness there was only one exception, the herbalist store that was located just at the end of the commercial area.

Hundreds of the Archduke’s subordinates wore elegant black and blue uniforms. They had surrounded the area where they would carry out the mission to eradicate the conspirators.

-All alert, the Archduke does not want anyone to escape. The commander Ardostian Medoz, a tall, dark blue-skinned demon who carried a shiny gray staff with a pure white gem at the top, was a sorcerer at the starting point of the sixth rank. He was always neatly dressed in his uniform, but his appearance was imposing, with his long black hair where each strand of his hair was as thick as a braid, his eyes were purple, something considered a blessing, which allowed him to see the flow of demonic energy more accurately.

Ardostian opened a locket, and saw the picture of his son, he kissed the picture, then tucked it in his uniform pants pocket. "It will be a difficult night, the demonic energy is very messed up in this place," Ardostian exhaled, took a breath, then commanded in an irrefutable voice infused with demonic energy:

-Attack!

Ardostian raised his staff and fired a small purple flame that when it reached as high as it could burst incandescently, giving a momentary light to the night, subsequently, there were three more bursts, all the commanders had ordered to attack after Ardostian confirmed the presence of the conspirators.

The demons advanced, there were winged demons, with horns, with several eyes, arms, the appearance was varied, what was not, was the profession they chose, sorcerers, swordsmen or demonic warriors.

Those who greeted the duke’s men with casual clothes were dozens of demonic conspirators of varied appearances as well, since despite being enemies, they were also demons, however all of them were only in the fourth rank. Despite their obvious disadvantage the conspirators did not hesitate and attacked violently without leaving a single bit of demonic energy in their bodies. A conspirator with green horns and gray skin managed to reach a demonic sorcerer, who had let his guard down, and smashed his head to pieces with a punch that carried all his power after which his head rolled under the sword of a uniformed sub-commander, with red wings and black hair who exclaimed with force:

-Don’t let your guard down because they look weak, they are ready to die from the start.

The explosions went unanswered, some conspirators writhed in the demonic flames; the demonic cuts severed several conspirators at a time; the demonic blows shattered the bodies of the conspirators and whatever they found in their path. The whole mission seemed to be headed for a bloody, one-sided battle.

Ardostian walked calmly towards the area involved in the conflict, as he was a sorcerer, he was not in a hurry to enter in the middle of the chaos, even so he observed in detail what was happening and a few seconds later he fired another flame, this last flame was green, when it exploded, all the Archduke’s subjects understood that the danger of the mission was increasing.

Ardostian looked towards the back of the shopping area they were raiding, and saw the man sitting calmly on top of the undamaged herbalist store. He couldn’t perceive anything with his vision, but he still felt chills and thought as he prepared to raise his staff, "I must get away from that demon if I wish to see my son again."

Bang!

A curtain of dust rose, many of the duke’s subordinates watched, and when the curtain of dust disappeared they could see a demon warrior whose head was between the teeth of a monumental deformed head, without eyes but with nostrils and with an illogically small body. The warrior covered his head with demonic energy to withstand the pressure of the abominable being’s jaw, but, it seemed that the abominable being had only waited so that everyone could see how the head exploded between its teeth that after crushing the head were covered with blood and brains.

Two demon warriors at the midpoint of the fifth rank were going to jump to attack the creature that was in the same power rank as them, but Ardostian ordered with his voice infused with demonic energy:

-Do not despair, there are more of those creatures in the shops and buildings. Follow the plan, and attack in an orderly fashion!

The orders were transmitted by the sub-commanders and more horrible abominable beings began to come out of the buildings.

Ardostian according to the plan fired a blue colored flame, which exploded, indicating according to the previous signal:

"There is an enemy in the seventh rank."

For demons with a rank higher than the starting point of the sixth rank, destroying an entire city would take less than a minute, but that useless action was discarded because many warriors or wizards lost their fights after running out of demonic energy and having fatigued their demonic energy channels, all for a useless display of power, since if the spells did not destroy the desired target, all the collateral damage caused was insubstantial.

That was the reason why Director Persec was running at a great speed with his Abkabram staff in his hands as he pursued the intruder he had perceived from his study hall a short time before.

The intruder, who was wearing a black tunic and hood, was the one who had spoken some time before with the manager of the herbalist store, and he was so fast, that he seemed to glide through the air without making unnecessary movements, thus managing to keep his distance from Director Persec, while dodging the buildings of the city.

"He’s leading me north, he wants to go to that nearby mountain range," thought Persec who increased his demonic perception so intensely that it made the intruder sweat cold, who despite the startle did not stop.

Director Persec’s demonic perception circled the mountain range but he did not sense any presence in the middle of those mountains, which made Director Persec think, "He wants to face me, even if he is on the same level of power as me, very few would dare to face me Who are you? You won’t get out alive unless you kill me."

They kept them moving until they left the city and in an irregular area with some trees, hills, rocks, the intruder cast powerful cutting wind spells which were dispersed by an ominous and pestilent wind that arose when Director Persec waved the Abkabram staff, however the trees, grasses and earth rotted as they were caressed by the ominous wind.

Mart cautiously approached the building in which the maids’ dormitory was located, he first took cover behind a tree, he used his demonic perception, nor did he sense the presence of any strong enemy, after having seen the demonic human, he had become more cautious, as he now knew that there were not only conspiring demons, but humans as well.

Mart circled the building and saw a shattered wall and traces of a battle heading towards the place where he felt the energy fluctuations shortly before.

Mart entered the building, and saw blood in the hallway where the rooms were located on the second floor, the place where Iristel and Menna’s room was.

Mart approached the door of the room, knocked three times and announced himself:

-Menna, I am Mart, Mart Sevec!

Mart smiled, he found it ironic to announce himself, especially since he was using the name of his new identity and had not yet forgotten his former name.

-Wow, you’re my favorite employer! exclaimed Menna who came out with her enthusiastic attitude hugged Mart pressing her breasts covered by a pink silk V-neck blouse that allowed a partial view of her white breasts against his chest.

"They’re big, it looks like she’s not wearing a bra. What am I thinking?", Mart shook his head, trying to resist Menna’s lush physical attributes and asked her:

-This place can be dangerous. Do you want to follow me to the female student dormitory? I’ll make sure it’s safe before I leave.

-You know, you’re no fun. -She paused, smiled and said. -I’ll go with you.

Mart nodded, allowed her time to change, and she came out in a low-cut white blouse and black pants. Mart sighed, carried her in his arms and handed her three demon stones:

-Every 20 meters, you drop one.

Mart ran to the female dormitories and was just as cautious as before entering the maids’ dormitory, he surveyed the surroundings.

"It’s unusually quiet. Was it Selenia?", wondered Mart who had already decided to enter through the main entrance of the female dormitory building.

And upon arriving he found Selenia who was sitting at the reception desk and around her were the violently severed bodies of three conspirators.

Mart put Menna down, approached Selenia who appeared to be unharmed.

-Was it that easy? -Mart asked.

-Yes, because they thought she was one of them. -Selenia answered with a serene expression, while alternating her gaze between Menna and Mart.

Mart preferred not to comment anything about Selenia’s action, he turned his attention to the bodies whose belongings seemed intact, he checked them and found two blue potions which he quickly kept in his demonic bag, an action that attracted Selenia’s attention who forgot about Menna immediately, since she knew that Mart had eaten a pill, which made her think that he wanted to do the same with that dangerous potion.
