Chapter 1074: Peerless Beauty, Lan

TL: GoldenLung

To disguise himself as a woman—of course Lan Xuanyu resisted the idea…

But after much consideration, weighing all possible ways to obtain Dragon Force, he finally realized that Bai Xiuxiu’s sudden inspiration was, ironically, the most reliable plan.

Disguising himself as a female would make it far less likely for the Celestial Dragons to notice him.

And sure enough, once the transformation was complete, Lan Xuanyu’s appearance changed dramatically.

The truth was, Bai Xiuxiu had harbored a secret thought for a long time. She had always envied Xuanyu’s looks—his skin, his features—sometimes even to the point of jealousy. She would often wonder in private: *Why does a man get to look this good? If he were a woman, he’d be even more beautiful than me!*

How she had longed to dress him up!

Now, she had finally succeeded.

When Lan Xuanyu transformed, he only let Treasure Seeking Beast adjust his hair length and figure. His facial features remained mostly the same, only softened a little.

That was enough.

Tang Yuge, Yuanen Huihui, and Bai Xiuxiu were stunned.

He was *too* beautiful.

Bai Xiuxiu and Tang Yuge were both renowned beauties, yet Lan Xuanyu as a woman outshone them both.

Back at the City Lord’s Mansion, when Xiuxiu had lowered her head to hide a smile while people spoke of Xuanyu’s looks, it was because she was imagining him exactly like this—in female form.

Yuanen Huihui couldn’t hold back.

“Brother Xuanyu, if you were really a girl, I’d want to chase after you! Hahaha!”

Xuanyu shot him a glare.

“Getting too bold, aren’t you? Enough—let’s go, we shouldn’t keep him waiting.”

Not just his companions—even Xuanyu himself had felt his scalp tingle when he looked in the mirror.

Rationally, he knew this was the best strategy. But in practice, he was nervous. After all, there was a vast difference between male and female mannerisms. If not for the fact that Celestial Dragon Planet had no humans, and the dragon clan only *imitated* human forms, he would never have agreed to this.

But now the arrow was nocked—there was no turning back. He had to push forward.

Steadying himself, Xuanyu tried to calm his nerves, his face cold as he followed behind Bai Xiuxiu.

Xiuxiu walked ahead, glancing back at him with her lips constantly twitching upward.

“Don’t move so stiffly. Relax, or you’ll give yourself away,” she whispered.

Xuanyu rolled his eyes.

“Fine, fine, I know. I really shouldn’t have agreed to this.”

Xiuxiu burst out laughing.

“It’s perfect! You look *so cute*! Hahaha!”

“Enough already.” Xuanyu pressed on, while Xiuxiu forced herself to settle down as well. They were about to meet Huang Yuanlang, and she needed to stay calm.

Outside, Yuanlang was waiting, anticipation building in his chest.

In his eyes, Xiuxiu was already beautiful. But what of this elder sister she spoke of? Xiuxiu herself seemed unwilling to accept his advances—perhaps her sister would be different? At the very least, her willingness to join the clan proved she acknowledged it. Surely she had seen how much he cared for Xiuxiu, too.

Between the two sisters… at least one…

The thought made Yuanlang’s pulse quicken. As his father had said, his cultivation talent was mediocre. Without the Celestial Dragon bloodline, he would never have achieved his current status. It was the Huang Family’s greatest worry. But if he could secure a strong partner and produce powerful heirs… perhaps that problem could be solved for the clan.

He wasn’t motivated by beauty alone—though, of course, a beautiful partner would be ideal.

Just as his thoughts were running wild, Bai Xiuxiu emerged.

Yuanlang first caught sight of her—and then, stepping out from behind, a woman taller and more slender than Xiuxiu herself.

Waterfall-like black hair cascaded down her back. A silver gown shimmered faintly in the light. Her dark, fathomless eyes seemed capable of devouring his very soul. Her flawless face was breathtaking, her aura colder than Xiuxiu’s, yet imbued with a striking, radiant strength. Compared to Xiuxiu, she carried an air of boldness, as though sunlight itself radiated from her presence.

Yuanlang’s breath quickened.

When he had first met Xiuxiu, he had indeed felt drawn to her. But her icy, shadowy aura—those were elements his nature instinctively resisted. Only her extraordinary talent and beauty had drawn him closer.

Yet before him now stood this black-haired woman, and something deep within his soul was stirred. Her beauty, her aura—everything about her matched the ideal he had always carried of a perfect partner.

In sheer looks, she was no greater than Xiuxiu. But in presence, in essence, she was utterly unique.

Yuanlang stared at Lan Xuanyu, momentarily spellbound.

Xiuxiu’s heart skipped a beat. Joking with Xuanyu was one thing, but if his disguise were exposed, they would be in grave danger.

She quickly stepped forward, blocking Yuanlang’s gaze.

“Brother, what’s wrong?”

“Ah!” Yuanlang snapped out of it, his face reddening. He ducked his head awkwardly.

“N-Nothing. This is your sister? When you said she was even more beautiful than you, I didn’t believe it. But… she truly is.”

Xiuxiu’s eyes widened. *What?!*

This man had been so keen on her just moments ago. And her saying “my sister is beautiful” had only been polite flattery!

Who tells one girl, right to her face, that another is more beautiful—especially when that “other” is…!

She realized at once—Yuanlang’s attraction to Xuanyu was overwhelming, even greater than what he’d felt for her. A pang of annoyance twisted in her chest.

Yuanlang realized his blunder and hurried to cover.

“No, that’s not what I meant. I just mean—it’s shocking that such beauties could both exist. Xiuxiu, aren’t you going to introduce me?”

“Hmph.” Xiuxiu snorted, while Xuanyu stepped forward.

“Hello. I’m Lan,” he said.

“Hello, I’m Huang Yuanlang. We’ve met before, haven’t we?” Yuanlang asked, already regaining composure.

“Yes, we’ve met,” Xuanyu nodded.

Yuanlang drew in a deep breath.

“Please rest assured, the gates of Fenglong City are open to any Higher Dragon. It’s an honor that you’ve chosen to join us, to become one of our family. My father awaits us at the City Lord’s Mansion. Shall we go?”

“Very well,” Xuanyu replied crisply. In truth, he felt intensely uncomfortable—he had to use his bloodline power to alter his vocal cords, softening his voice into a feminine tone.

Fortunately, Yuanlang didn’t notice the stiffness in his speech. Xuanyu, for his part, spoke as little as possible. Though he had practiced beforehand, he wasn’t confident his voice could fully pass as a woman’s. It would take time.

Eagerly, Yuanlang leapt into the sky. Golden light burst from his form like the rising sun, his radiant wings unfurling as he ascended. His eight legs folded and stretched gracefully, his entire body a magnificent display of the Golden Celestial Dragon’s beauty—unfolded proudly for Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu to witness.
