Chapter 419: Chapter 375 I Will Definitely Cure You_2

She was only twenty-seven, so young, yet liver cancer, such a deadly disease, had unfortunately befallen her.

Mu Shuoqian stood there, frozen, feeling as though his heart had been hollowed out, devoid of any strength.

Even when she left him four years ago, he had never felt such sorrow and despair.

It didn’t matter if she wasn’t by his side; she could still pursue her own happiness, and he could watch her be happy. But if she were truly gone, the treasure he loved for so many years would suddenly disappear, leaving him without any memories or hope.

Gu Qili came out of the washroom, dressed in a set of clothes she had left here before, which, to her surprise, had been washed and neatly kept in the storage cabinet.

Seeing Mu Shuoqian standing in front of the sofa, motionless like a wooden stake, she had a mischievous thought. She tiptoed over and suddenly jumped out in front of him with a loud "Ah".

Mu Shuoqian in front of her showed no reaction, his gaze somewhat vacant. It took a while for him to slowly move his eyes and look at her bewilderedly.

Gu Qili blinked, sensing something off about him. She was about to affectionately wrap her arms around his neck when she suddenly noticed the diagnosis report beneath her feet.

In that instant, she understood everything; Mu Shuoqian must have learned all about it.

She looked at him, at a loss for words. She had imagined such a situation before, but seeing Mu Shuoqian like this still made her heart ache fiercely, as if it was being roasted in a furnace.

She didn’t want to see him sad, but she had still caused him so much grief.

Mu Shuoqian’s eyes were red, his lips twitched weakly, finally slumping down. He reached out and hugged her tightly, feeling the man holding her trembling intensely.

"Mu Shuoqian." She softly called his name, her hand resting on his waist, "Don’t be sad."

It took a while for Mu Shuoqian to respond, his grip tightening, "Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I didn’t mean to hide it from you. It’s just that I hadn’t figured out how to tell you. I didn’t want to see you sad or show you a look of despair like now." Tears fell from Gu Qili’s eyes as she stared quietly at his face, "At first, I couldn’t accept it either. If it’s not a blessing, it’s a misfortune that can’t be avoided. Since it found me, I can only find a way to shake it off."

Mu Shuoqian wiped away her tears with his finger. When he spoke, his voice was hoarse, the short tens of minutes had made his throat pain fiercely, overwhelmed with a burning rage that made speaking unbearable.

"I won’t let anything happen to you, I will cure you." Mu Shuoqian held her tear-stained face, "Qiqi, no matter the cost, I will cure you."

She smiled and nodded, "I know, so I’m not completely without hope, right?"

"Right." Mu Shuoqian also smiled, though with difficulty, giving her hope, "I will consult the best specialists from abroad. They are sure to have a way."

He steadied his emotions. This was the time she needed him most, so he had no time for sorrow or grief. Even terminal illness had a chance of cure; even if it gave her one more year of life, he was willing to give everything.

"Come on, eat first." Mu Shuoqian guided her to sit on the sofa, "Don’t go to the vineyard recently, let others handle things there."

"Okay." Gu Qili passed him the chopsticks, "You eat too."

Mu Shuoqian had no appetite at the moment; the thought of her illness filled his heart with heavy stones, making even breathing difficult.

However, to put her at ease for the meal, he still ate a few bites reluctantly.

"Tianyou found a specialist in this area; he said they’re going to have a consultation in a couple of days." Gu Qili explained in a hurry, afraid of making him jealous, "That day I fainted suddenly at the vineyard, and Mickey was there. She couldn’t reach you on the phone and in her panic had to call Tianyou."

Mu Shuoqian, at this point, had no mind for jealousy. He was only concerned about the specific diagnosis, "What did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said it was discovered quite early and it hasn’t started spreading yet. He asked me to rest for now, and we’ll draw up a treatment plan after the consultation results come in."

"I’ll call Luo Shangqing. He knows some authoritative specialists abroad." Mu Shuoqian put down his chopsticks, "The sooner we get the results, the better, so as not to delay treatment."

Three days later, Luo Shangqing personally brought two liver disease specialists to the hospital for a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Lyu.

After a series of examinations, Gu Qili felt drained. Even though anesthetic was used for the biopsy, the pain returned once it wore off. To avoid worrying everyone, she bit her lips and endured it.

The wait for the results was agonizing. Having fought a psychological battle these past few days, Gu Qili had become much calmer. On the contrary, Qiu Lan, who had just learned about the situation, couldn’t keep her composure. Having spent these days together, she had silently accepted this considerate, kind, and smart daughter-in-law. Thus, she truly worried about her illness from the bottom of her heart. Furthermore, seeing her son often lost in his thoughts, her distress grew.

She had already caused irreparable harm to this pair of pitiful lovers, and yet it seemed heaven was not willing to look favorably upon them, insisting on making them undergo trials one after another before giving up.

Time moved so slowly, as if it were being infinitely stretched. Finally, the consultation room door opened, and Luo Shangqing came out with several professors.
