Chapter 196: Formless Infinite Sword Slashes

Chapter 196: Formless Infinite Sword Slashes

A violent purple aura surged around Lingluo, spiraling like a crown of chaos.

Yu Xuan’s eyes narrowed.

"Sister, we’ll flank it. I’ll go for its eye."

Without waiting, both siblings split, darting in opposite directions.

I will make your deaths agonizing.

The dragon’s voice thundered directly into their minds, a mental tide of malice. The oppressive weight of its will was suffocating.

And you worthless creatures... you dared fail me?

The dragon’s gaze snapped to the remnants of its army. In an instant, the remaining monsters screamed as their bodies liquefied into fountains of blood. That blood surged upward, devoured into the dragon’s wings.

With a sound like tearing worlds, power erupted from its body.

Yu Xuan launched a spear straight for its eye, the projectile glowing with a killing edge, but a translucent blood shield coalesced over the dragon’s face, deflecting the strike. The air rippled from the impact.

Yu Xuan grimaced.

"Tsk... this is going to be harder than I thought."

Their only advantage was the dragon’s sheer size: a target too vast to guard on all sides.

The beast roared. Blood-lights, dozens of them, blossomed around its frame before shooting down with deadly accuracy.

Yu Xuan’s body blurred. Guided by [Ultra Instinct], he twisted and slipped past the barrage. Just as he regained his footing, the dragon tilted midair drawn by Lingluo, who had vaulted atop its massive skull.

Her fists, wrapped in chaotic violet Qi, hammered down with otherworldly ferocity. Her hair and eyes burned purple, Tririri perched atop her head like a ridiculous crown.

The dragon snarled, and blood-spikes erupted from its own flesh, stabbing toward Lingluo like jagged thorns. She twisted and evaded most, then pushed off into the air to escape the rest.

Die, annoying girl.

The dragon’s maw opened, its throat igniting with crimson light the precursor to a dragon’s breath.

At the same moment, Yu Xuan sprinted along the battlefield, his movement like flowing water. He neared the tail, seized one of the spears orbiting him, and poured his Qi inside. Then he hurled it, and another, and another each screaming through the air.

The spears stabbed into the back of the dragon’s skull, the sheer force wrenching its head just as the beam of destruction fired.

The breath veered off-course, gouging a molten canyon into the plains instead of vaporizing Lingluo.

Annoying pests... I will erase you.

Tornadoes of blood erupted around the dragon’s colossal body, forcing Yu Xuan to leap free from his foothold. But he landed lightly, sword in hand, his [Magic Swordsmanship of the Avalon Imperial Family] flaring to life.

Like a miracle, multiple red arcs of sword intent flashed outward, slamming into the dragon’s underbelly. The scales shuddered, some cracking, blood welling out.

Yu Xuan extended his hand. [Telekinesis] gripped his floating spears and rammed them into the wounded flesh, driving deeper into the crimson wound.

The dragon reeled, only for Lingluo to appear again, her fist crashing into its skull. A ripple of Chaos Qi detonated on impact. Even dragon flesh could not remain wholly untouched.

The beast staggered. Then it roared again.

ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!

The shockwave of sound alone hurled Yu Xuan and Lingluo backward. The skies split, red storm clouds gathering, lightning writhing like serpents.

Bolts of crimson thunder rained down, one striking toward Yu Xuan, another toward Lingluo.

And in the same breath, the dragon opened its maw again, this time unleashing its breath directly at Lingluo.

Yu Xuan’s voice tore across the battlefield.

"Sister, dodge!"

But she couldn’t. Her position, her momentum, it was impossible to escape. The dragon’s breath swallowed her whole in a torrent of annihilation.

Then—

Something strange happened. The destructive torrent vanished the moment it neared her, collapsing into nothingness as if consumed.

The dragon froze. Its slit pupils narrowed, confused. Even Yu Xuan faltered.

And on Lingluo’s head, the tiny purple slime, Tririri sat, smoke rising from its body. Its big round eyes swirled dizzily, and it muttered in a dazed tone.

"Prukk... too full... too full..."

Its round body puffing smoke like an overfed furnace.

Yu Xuan’s golden eyes narrowed. Now!

He blurred forward, darting across the blood-soaked battlefield. His target was the wounded flank where his earlier spears had pierced. When he reached it, his body froze, not from fear, but from absolute focus.

For a breath, the entire world seemed to still. Sound drained away. His hovering spears clattered uselessly to the ground, forgotten. His mind, his Qi, his will — everything condensed into a single point.

The white sword in his hand blazed with a violent red aura, its edges shimmering like liquid fire.

The dragon’s instincts screamed, but the movement it made was too late.

Yu Xuan thought to himself.

[Magic Swordsmanship of the Avalon Imperial Family]

Third Form — Formless Infinite Sword Slashes.

The red light on his sword flickered, then dimmed.

For an instant, Yu Xuan’s vision turned monochrome. The world bled into shades of black and white, leaving only one line of vivid red: the cut he willed into existence.

He moved.

It wasn’t a swing, nor a thrust. It was inevitability given form.

The dragon’s colossal body, a fortress of scale and muscle, split apart along that crimson line. The wound ripped open from its lower side, a gash deep enough to spray blood in rivers.

Yu Xuan stumbled, coughing violently as blood poured from his mouth. The backlash from forcing the technique ripped through his body. He staggered back, his breath ragged, sword trembling in his grip.

But Lingluo did not hesitate. With a roar, she shot upward like a streak of violet lightning. Both her fists crashed down onto the dragon’s skull.

She poured all her Qi, all the chaos swirling in her veins, into that strike.

BOOOOM!

The dragon’s head slammed against the earth with a seismic crack, the ground fracturing outward in spiderwebs of ruin. Dust and blood exploded into the air.

Even the heavens above seemed to shudder.

But just as they thought that, things would end peacefully.

"Yup they definitely won’t." Yu Xuan said, as he heard the roar of the dragon once again.

ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!
