Chapter 929: Chapter 927: EXPECTATIONS
Waylon felt these words stabbing him the more he listened. He not only worried for his brother but himself as well.
Thankfully, for now, he was still a student, but after he graduates, then what?
"I don’t expect him to become some billionaire or tycoon of some sort. He just needs to be stable and be able to take care of my sister at all times. Unless he wants to marry into the family. I honestly wouldn’t mind," she shrugged her shoulders as she spoke nonchalantly.
If a man is marrying in, who cares if he is capable or not?
Waylon’s face twitched as he looked at Diamond, but she merely smiled at him and continued, "It’s good that this topic has been brought up. You like me and I like you. I don’t know what the future will be like, but we both know that I will never have one man in my life. I refuse to accept that.
Since that’s the case, I will never marry into anyone’s family. After all, our country doesn’t really support this kind of relationship. So, I plan to date, love, and start a family if fate allows.
So, my expectations for my lovers aren’t that high, but that doesn’t mean that I will accept anything just because I think like that.
I have talked about what I want from my man, and I believe that you have seen it. I will not ask much from you. As long as you follow your heart, be financially stable, and love and care for me. I will not ask for much.
Perhaps, that’s because ....." she couldn’t help but halt when she reached there, knowing that if she finished her sentence, she might sound as if she was bragging.
And it so happens that at that moment, Ruby approached the car and, knowing that the two hadn’t come out, knocked at the window.
Diamond looked at her baby sister and pried her hands from Waylon before opening the door.
Ruby, who wasn’t expecting Diamond to let her in when Waylon was still inside, cautiously boarded the car and sat next to Diamond before shrinking, not knowing what to do.
However, Waylon who felt that if he didn’t listen to what Diamond said earlier would never sleep and rest well, ignored Ruby and said to Diamond, "Babe, can you finish what you were saying earlier? I will listen to it all!" resolution in his tone and that only made Diamond smile at him while Ruby’s ears perked, curious to what these two were talking about.
Seeing that he wanted to listen, Diamond never held back.
"I won’t lie to you, but if I say it, I might seem like I am bragging, but I really am not," she said helplessly, thinking about what she was about to say.
Ruby, hearing that, couldn’t help but wonder which part of her sister’s life she was talking about. After all, many aspects, if she talked about them, she might really be taken as bragging, but that was the truth.
However, Waylon was insistent. To him who loved her like crazy and wholeheartedly, she wasn’t one to brag. If she was able to come clean about her preferences, why would she hide other things?
He just wanted to know and see what to change while it’s early.
"Go ahead. I believe you," he said sincerely, his gaze on her, and Diamond’s smile reached her eyes, liking how lovable he was.
"Fine, since you insist, then let me tell you. In this country, perhaps in this continent, I might be the richest person you will ever see!" she said confidently, a bright smile on her face, and Ruby nodded firmly to that.
Her sister spent U$1 billion just to have her mansion built. When exchanged to Atharian dollars, that was hundreds of billions worth. Who else had gone crazy just to build a house?
Thankfully, until now, no one really knows who owns that mansion. Otherwise, Diamond would be trending online because of that.
Waylon, on the other hand, was in shock when he heard that. He didn’t expect that his lover was such a hidden tycoon. If he wasn’t mistaken, the richest so far on the Orkney continent was said to be worth over five hundred billion, and that was the wealth accumulated over generations. Then how much was she worth?
His hands trembled at the sheer wealth the woman he was in love with possessed.
Several questions started swirling in his mind, and Diamond, seeing that, held his hands and suddenly cut his train of thoughts, "I simply told you that, but that doesn’t mean that I look down on others or you. Like I said, as long as you do your best wholeheartedly, my heart will never stray.
I can’t compare people, and obviously, I don’t expect anyone to become me. I am my own person. And it will be horrifying if someone tries to be me. So, move at your own pace and do what you like.
You have your dreams. You said you love cooking, and being in the kitchen is your dream. Then follow it. I have seen a lot of wonderful chefs who had made it in life. It’s just a matter of putting more effort into the matter.
If you have a goal and a dream, then put more effort into it and work hard to achieve it. I just don’t like a person getting too lax simply because their families are loaded.
Which then brings me to your friend. I hope that you can share your insights with him. I will not ask for much but ....."
Diamond continued to talk and didn’t even put to mind Ruby, who was in the car with them.
Ruby was already shocked when she listened to the conversation. She didn’t know how that topic started, but it sounded depressing to her ears. However, every single word hit home. Although it hurt but she could tell and hear her sister’s earnestness.
Rather than glossing over the matter, it was better to lay things out in the open. She was truly in awe of how her sister could say such things without any fear. Seeing Waylon looking pale at some point and then improving, she felt sorry for him.
Love was truly a scary thing. To think that he was willing to suffer so much like that ... she could only think about Sean. However, Diamond suddenly brought Sean into the matter, and she sat straight, her heart pounding nervously.
