Chapter 960: Chapter 949: Remove Xu Rongfei

“Actually, you didn’t have to come see me off. I could’ve gone to the airport alone.”

At Xu Rongfei’s house, she had already packed her luggage. Furthermore, she had prepared her visa long ago—everything was ready.

What surprised her, however, was that her two nieces had returned today to see her off.

Regarding Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing, Xu Rongfei had mixed emotions toward them. She envied them deeply—envied how they could stay by Ning Fan’s side, something she longed for yet could never have.

But those feelings were buried deeply in her heart, never revealed.

“Auntie, who knows when you’ll come back this time? My dad, seriously—he knew you were leaving the country today and still didn’t come to see you off. So disrespectful! Next time we meet, I’ll definitely give him a piece of my mind on your behalf!”

Xu Xiaoqing hugged Xu Rongfei’s arm, venting her frustration.

She looked reluctant, as though she couldn’t bear Xu Rongfei leaving. Xu Xiaoqing hadn’t been prepared at all for her aunt to suddenly leave here.

“Hehe, look at you. He’s a busy man—I understand that. If he doesn’t come, then so be it. It doesn’t matter. Besides, you two came, and I’m very happy!”

Xu Rongfei smiled at the two of them. Whether Xu Chengyuan showed up or not didn’t matter to her. Her departure was on short notice, and she hadn’t told anyone beforehand.

So Xu Chengyuan being unavailable to see her off today was understandable to Xu Rongfei.

But there was one thing Xu Rongfei cared about—where was Ning Fan now?

“Where’s Ning Fan? Isn’t he always with you two?” Xu Rongfei asked playfully, keeping her expression neutral so no one could discern her true thoughts.

Hearing Xu Rongfei’s question, Xu Ruolan explained, “He had something to take care of today.”

“I see. I was wondering why you two lovebirds weren’t together…”

Xu Rongfei nodded, her face showing acceptance, but her heart was filled with disappointment. She had hoped to see Ning Fan one last time, but clearly, she was going to be let down—he wasn’t coming to see her off today.

Still, with Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing here to send her off, Xu Rongfei felt content.

“It’s about time. I should hurry to the airport now. You don’t have to come along. Ruolan, your company must be busy, and Xiaoqing, you have classes you shouldn’t skip!”

Xu Rongfei insisted, firmly refusing to let Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing accompany her to the airport.

Seeing her here was already enough; Xu Rongfei didn’t want them to witness the desolation she felt as she departed.

“Why not? Why can’t we come along to see you off?”

Xu Xiaoqing protested stubbornly, unwilling to accept it. She wanted to personally escort Xu Rongfei to the airport.

“Auntie, let us take you to the airport.”

Xu Ruolan chimed in at this point.

After all, who knew when Xu Rongfei would return? It was best to cherish the fleeting moments they had now.

But Xu Rongfei didn’t see it that way. She shook her head, firmly opposing the idea, refusing to let Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing follow her. She insisted on heading to the airport alone.

Seeing Xu Rongfei’s determination, Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing eventually gave up. They stood by the front of the house, watching as Xu Rongfei boarded a taxi with her luggage.

On the way to the airport, Xu Rongfei stared out the taxi window, lost in thought. One day, she’d surely return to Zhonghai. This was her home, and it was where the people she missed most lived.

As she gazed out the window, her thoughts were interrupted by a startling realization. Her eyes widened in shock as she noticed something strange—this wasn’t the road to the airport. It was somewhere else entirely.

“Driver, you’ve taken the wrong route!”

Xu Rongfei looked ahead at the driver instinctively, covering her mouth. Clearly, this wasn’t the route to the airport. Alarms went off in her mind—the driver seemed suspicious!

But the driver remained silent, continuing to drive toward a direction further away from the city.

“Stop the car! I’m calling the police!”

Xu Rongfei shouted, pulling out her phone in an attempt to call for help.

To her horror, the driver let out a sinister laugh. “Did I really take the wrong route, Ms. Xu Rongfei? Perhaps you’re misunderstanding something?”

Through the rearview mirror, Xu Rongfei could clearly see the driver’s eerie, cold eyes. Her body shivered involuntarily, and she instinctively pressed the number for police assistance, 110.

“No signal?!”

A chill ran down Xu Rongfei’s spine as she realized her phone had lost all connection.

Suddenly, with a click, the car doors and windows locked tightly. At this moment, Xu Rongfei felt utterly helpless—no one would come to her aid.

“Who are you?!”

Xu Rongfei screamed in panic, her fear surging uncontrollably.

The driver replied calmly, his tone cold and domineering, “I’d advise you to behave. Someone wants to meet you. You’ll understand soon enough. For now, keep your mouth shut.”

There was an undeniable magic power in his voice. Xu Rongfei clenched her teeth and glared at him, lowering her head as she tried to devise a plan.

The car clearly had signal jammers installed; otherwise, her phone wouldn’t have lost its signal. But now, they were far from the city, leaving her with no one to call for help.

Regret bubbled up in Xu Rongfei’s heart—she shouldn’t have refused to let Xu Ruolan and Xu Xiaoqing accompany her. If they had driven her in Xu Ruolan’s car, this wouldn’t have happened.

Regret, however, was useless now. The person before her was clearly dangerous. Xu Rongfei had no choice but to start thinking of ways to ensure her own safety.

About half an hour later, the taxi pulled up in front of a mountain villa. Staring at the exterior of the villa, Xu Rongfei felt it looked familiar, yet she couldn’t immediately recall where she’d seen it before.

“You can get out now.”

The driver turned to open the car door before roughly pulling Xu Rongfei out.

The frail Xu Rongfei was no match for the driver. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free from his grasp and was forced to follow him into the manor against her will.

“This place is… Situ Manor!”

At that moment, Xu Rongfei suddenly remembered where they had arrived.

But confusion clouded her mind. Situ Yuanhua was dead, this manor had been abandoned, and later auctioned off. She didn’t know the current owner—why would they send someone to abduct her here?

“Stop staring! My master has been waiting a long time. Don’t make him impatient!”

The driver snapped, his expression darkening.
