Chapter 1036: Extraction Space
Vale had a complicated relationship with the Hoffmans in the human realm...
After all, one of them, Lesley Hoffman, had literally killed him before. There was also Headmaster Jean Hoffman, who had bound his Shadow before when he was still a low-ranking Arcanist.
However, his relationship with Priscilla and Philip Hoffman could be said to be friendly...
Finally, Sabrina Hoffman from Luminis Hold also had a good impression of him... He was even able to become part of the organization thanks to her assistance...
’Am I really fated with the Hoffmans?’ Vale thought to himself. Since, for some reason, he always gets involved with them.
After thinking of this, Vale thanked the man and finished his skewer before heading toward the towering structure the vendor described.
The Hoffman Immortal Tower was impossible to miss.
It was made of black stones, and there were a lot of Immortals outside.
Even the guards alone were already Half-Immortals! It was such a huge flex to use them as a mere guards!
’They must be a huge force within this city...’ Vale thought as he realized that if he tried to be a part of this organization, he might actually become just a low-ranking member.
’I should become an Earth Immortal...’
Vale took a deep breath as he approached the entrance.
The entrance was guarded by the guards in gray robes, who were also wearing masks. It was probably used to stop people from reading their expressions, or perhaps, it had a magical effect he wasn’t aware of.
The guards didn’t block him. Probably because his badge was recognized, or because he showed his Divinity. However, they still asked him for the purpose of his visit.
Then, after telling them that he needed to rent a chamber to practice Immortal Spells, they just nodded and allowed him entry.
Well, this wasn’t because the security was lax... The only reason they were quite easy-going was that the entire tower was filled with Immortals.
If he wanted to cause, he’d surely pay the price.

As soon as he entered the tower, he swiftly felt the numerous Formation Circles protecting the place...
Then, he saw a reception desk at the center of a vast circular hall. Behind it was a pale woman in black robes, who was seemingly filling up some forms.
"I need a secure chamber for Immortal Spell practice," Vale said, placing his Abyss Watch Guild’s badge on the counter.
Her gaze shifted to the badge, then to his face.
"We have three tiers. Outer chambers—sufficient for high-tier mortal magic and low-level immortal arts. Inner chambers—capable of holding Earth Immortal-grade destruction. And the Vault chambers... designed for the highest level... The cost rises sharply for each."
"Inner chamber," Vale replied without hesitation.
"That’s 20 Divine Crystals for 12 hours of use."
It was certainly high enough that an ordinary Lesser Immortal might hesitate. After all, there could be other places to practice Spells freely...
"Can I fuse Spells there as well?" Vale asked.
"That’s not a problem... Even if you want to advance to Earth Immortal, the chamber will not be damaged." The receptionist replied confidently.
"That’s good to hear." Just like that, Vale paid in Divine Crystals without flinching.
"Follow me," The woman said as she stored the payment.
Then, she led him into a corridor lined with black stone doors. She stopped at one and gestured.
"Room thirteen. Infuse your divinity on the doorknob, then the Formation Circles inside will recognize your Divinity signature. If you’re about to reach your time limit. You can call me to extend. However, if no extension call is made, we will charge 2 Divine Crystals per 30 minutes of use."
Then, finally, Vale stepped inside after imbuing his divinity on the doorknob.
The chamber was round, its walls covered in spell-absorbing formations, and the floor marked with a central cultivation array or something similar. It was silent—utterly cut off from the noise of the city.
Perfect.
He set Sable Mourning down beside him and sat at the center...
Finally, he could begin preparing for his advancement.
Soon, Vale opened his system...
He then selected the Extraction Space where he could use three other functions of his Divine Extraction System. These functions include the Fuse Spells, Analyze Items, and Reverse Extraction.
[ Spell Fusion Opened ]
[ Select Spell Models to merge: Maximum of Four Spell Models with an optional Essence or Energy Inclusion ]
Vale then checked the available Shadow Immortal Spells he could use...
He already planned this before, so he was quite ready...
Night Grasp (Level 10 – Perfect Realm)
Grave Mist (Level 10 – Perfect Realm)
Soul Tethering (Level 10 – Perfect Realm)
Dusk Sphere (Level 10 – Perfect Realm)
These first three spells came from the Grimoire of Lunar Decay... It was an Immortal Artifact he had previously obtained. Thankfully, they had recorded these Spells after days of trying and once it was recorded, it was so easy to advance them to the perfect realm...
He just had to use tens of thousands of Energy Points for that to happen.
Night Grasp binds shadow threads to a target’s soul and anchors them to a location.
Grave Mist was a domain-type Spell that summoned darkness, blotting out any natural or artificial light within a wide radius. Only the caster can move inside this domain...
Lastly, the Soul Tethering was some sort of a summoning-type Spell that could let the caster bind the soul of a freshly killed being to another corpse, object, golem, or even a living body of choice...
Finally, the Dusk Sphere was his own and a new Spell Model he had created after some inspiration... He even named it himself, and the system recognized it.
It was like an Emperor’s Domain Spell that affected a huge area, depending on the size of the sphere he decided to create.
Needless to say, with all these Spells lined up, he was planning to obtain a Spell that could control a huge area or a Domain-Type spell.
Well, it was quite obvious, so he was hoping that the system would give him a good result.
