Chapter 1035: The Hoffman

Chapter 1035: The Hoffman

Within the Shadow Realm, Vale had already left Hymn City and was on his way to the central region.

At this time, he was walking alone, not because he didn’t have any other form of transportation, but because his Blink Spell could be used whenever he needed.

He was also using this time to search for the possible location of the rifts that the Demon Saints were using in order to invade this realm...

Though he wasn’t getting any good results, he didn’t really mind.

Clink... Clink...

As he moved, the Sable Mourning, the black bell he had unsealed before, was currently hanging on his hip,

It had been powerful when he first unsealed it and used it against the Demonic Creatures and even the Demon Saints.

Right now, he decided that it would be his main weapon.

He didn’t even have to use any of his Immortal Spells like Abyssal Sovereign or Netherflame Ascendant to deal with the Demon Saints... With only his bell and his huge amount of Shadow Divinity, he was able to deal critical damage against them.

He had certainly gotten a lot stronger than before. The bell moved at the pace of his thoughts—ready to silence spells with Eclipse Toll, bind them with Spectral Chain Ringing, or shatter minds with the Hymn of Damnation.

Of course, he didn’t just leave after the battle...

He stayed within the Hymn City because of his contributions. Furthermore, he decided to join two of the organizations that had been recruiting him for some time.

The Abyss Watch Guild had given him a temporary membership after some negotiations...

He just needed to do a few missions for them to deal with the Dimensional Creatures, and he’d be fine using their name...

Aside from them, the Luminis Hold, the protector of the Hymn City, had made him an honorable member for his role in crushing a Demon Saint and eliminating hundreds of Demonic Creatures...

With these identities, Vale would have a lot easier time moving around the realm.

He could enter any city gates just by showing his proof of membership...

As a matter of fact, when he passed a merchant caravan, they offered him space without question after seeing his badge indicating his identity as a member of the Abyss Watch Guild...

That freedom made his journey easier.

After getting some peaceful days, Vale was now ready to advance...

He already used tens of thousands of his Energy Points to advance the Shadow Immortal Spells that he had into Level 10 or the Max Level, which were the requirement for the Spell Merging...

Once he finished merging four Perfect-Realm Immortal Spells, he would advance to Earth Immortal.

"Should I do it in the next city?" Vale muttered to himself as he was unsure whether the advancement would actually cause some natural phenomenon.

’Well... Maybe I should learn the spell models first...’ Vale mused as he recalled his new Spell Models.

Apparently, after joining the Luminis Hold and Abyss Watch Guild, he obtained four Shadow Immortal Spell Models as a gift.

Well, he didn’t learn them yet, as it wasn’t as easy as he thought...

Perhaps getting into a city and studying them diligently for a few days would allow him to record these Spell Models in his Spell Lights.

On the fifth day since leaving Hymn City, he crossed a canyon that was filled with some four-legged animals closely similar to bison...

’Commander Jurhan mentioned this place... I guess I’m near the next city.’ Vale mused, referring to Note City.

It should be located at the edge of the Central Region.

After some time, he indeed found the Note City.

It wasn’t particularly large compared to Hymn City. However, it seemed to be heavily defended with numerous Immortals around.

Soon, he walked straight to the entrance.

Two armored guards took one look at his Abyss Watch Guild badge, glanced at each other, and stepped aside without asking for a single Divine Crystal.

"No toll for Abyss Watch members..." one said after using a Spell for a quick inspection on the Badge itself...

Seeing that it was authentic, the guard added. "Stay out of restricted areas, and we won’t have a problem."

Vale gave a faint nod. "Understood."

Just like that, he entered another city within the Shadow Realm.

Even without reaching for his Divine Sense, he could tell there were many Immortals here.

He noticed some pedestrians moved without casting a shadow. Then, there was also a faint fluctuation that contained Divinity from figures sipping tea by a balcony.

For sure, Note City wasn’t a place for reckless troublemakers.

Vale walked aimlessly for a while as he wanted to familiarize himself...

Unlike the modern vibe of the Hymn City, with towering buildings that reminded him of a Department Store, this place seemed a lot more simple.

There were small businesses everywhere, just like any other human city.

Then, the scent of roasting meat caught his attention, and he stopped by a stall where a middle-aged vendor was turning skewers over a small flame.

He bought one, biting into the spiced meat, then casually asked... "Do you know a place where one can practice Immortal Spells? Somewhere private."

The vendor’s eyes focused on him and nodded. "New here?"

Vale smiled. "First time."

"Well, for proper practice... you’d best look into any of the thirteen Immortal Towers." The man said.

"Each one rents safe chambers for spellcasting and divinity cultivation. Some are cheap, some cost enough to empty your pockets of Divine Crystals, but all are reinforced to withstand Immortal-level destruction."

"Which one is the best?"

The vendor felt a bit complicated as he didn’t want to rate the 13 towers.

But after seeing Vale’s tip, he finally spoke. "If you can afford it, the Hoffman Immortal Tower. It’s the oldest of the thirteen. Built by a Celestial architect before the last great war... Pricey, but it’s probably the best in Note City."

In the meantime, Vale was shocked after hearing the name once again...

"Hoffman?"
