Capítulo 1713: Chapter 844: Rest and Investigation
“What is Your Majesty’s plan now?” Mo Han asked, wanting to know the Emperor’s attitude towards the Blood Ghost Sect.
“I intend to cooperate with you.” The Emperor’s eyes gleamed as he said in a deep voice, “Aren’t you here to eliminate the Blood Ghost Sect? I can lend you a hand.”
“Really?” Mo Han and Mo Han’s uncle were overjoyed upon hearing this, “Is Your Majesty really willing to help us?”
“Of course it’s true.” The Emperor said, “I can offer you intelligence and even mobilize troops to assist you in dealing with the Blood Ghost Sect.”
“That’s wonderful!” Mo Han exclaimed excitedly, “With Your Majesty’s help, we can certainly wipe out the Blood Ghost Sect and bring peace to the world!”
“Hmm.” The Emperor nodded with satisfaction, “However, I have a condition.”
“What condition?” Mo Han asked, knowing the Emperor couldn’t possibly help them without reason.
“I hope that after you eliminate the Blood Ghost Sect, you can do one thing for me.” The Emperor said, with a hint of profound light in his eyes.
“What is it?” Mo Han pursued, vaguely feeling that what the Emperor wanted them to do was likely no small task.
“This matter, I cannot tell you now.” The Emperor said, “Once you’ve eliminated the Blood Ghost Sect, I will naturally inform you.”
“This…” Mo Han and Mo Han’s uncle exchanged a glance, feeling some hesitation in their hearts. They had no idea what the Emperor intended and feared that the task might violate their principles.
“What? You don’t want to?” The Emperor’s face darkened slightly upon seeing their indecision, as he asked.
“No, no, we are willing.” Mo Han quickly replied, “As long as Your Majesty can help us eliminate the Blood Ghost Sect, we are willing to do anything.”
“Good, it’s a deal.” The Emperor nodded with satisfaction, “Guards, take them to rest, and show them good hospitality.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.” Two guards entered upon hearing this and respectfully led Mo Han and his uncle away.
“Your Majesty, do you truly trust these two people with unknown origins?” A minister standing beside the Emperor couldn’t help but ask after Mo Han and his uncle left.
“Why not trust them?” The Emperor countered, “Are they not here to annihilate the Blood Ghost Sect? This aligns with our interests, so why not?”
“But they are outsiders, and their origins are unknown. If they have some conspiracy, it would be like inviting wolves into our home!” The minister said worriedly.
“Conspiracy?” The Emperor sneered, “In the face of absolute power, any conspiracy is futile. As long as we hold the initiative, we need not fear their tricks.”
“Your Majesty is wise.” The minister quickly agreed.
“Alright, this matter is settled. You may all withdraw.” The Emperor waved his hand, signaling everyone to leave.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” All the ministers bowed in salute and then exited the Golden Throne Hall.
The Emperor sat alone on the dragon throne, his gaze deep and pensive, lost in thought.
Mo Han and his uncle were taken to a luxurious room, which was richly and elegantly furnished, equipped with all kinds of daily necessities, far more comfortable than their accommodation in the Alliance.
“This place… it’s simply incredible.” Mo Han’s uncle couldn’t help but exclaim, “I never imagined we would one day reside in the Imperial Palace; it feels like a dream.”
“Indeed.” Mo Han nodded, although somewhat uneasy, “Why do you think the Emperor wants to help us? What are his real motives?”
“I do not know either.” Mo Han’s uncle shook his head, “But I feel that the Emperor harbors no ill intent. After all, we share a common enemy—the Blood Ghost Sect.”
“I hope so.” Mo Han said, “In any case, we must remain cautious. This is the Imperial Palace, not our domain.”
“Hmm.” Mo Han’s uncle nodded, “We’ll stay here and watch for any changes, observe what the Emperor does next.”
“Alright.” Mo Han’s uncle responded, with determination in his voice.
The two stayed quietly in the room for the night. During this time, Mo Han’s uncle seemed to want to say something several times but ultimately held back.
Mo Han understood that his uncle was worried about the Emperor having ulterior motives, but he shared the same concern. They were already committed to the path and could only take one step at a time.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window lattices, bringing a trace of warmth.
There was a gentle knock at the door, breaking the room’s silence.
“Gentlemen, His Majesty requests your presence.” A guard’s respectful yet distant voice came from outside the door.
“Coming.” Mo Han replied, getting out of bed and freshening up quickly.
Mo Han’s uncle was also ready. They exchanged a serious glance, reading the same concern in each other’s eyes.
“Let’s go, it’s time to face what we must.” Mo Han took a deep breath and was the first to step out of the room.
Following the guard, they walked through the winding corridors, returning once again to the Golden Throne Hall.
In the grand hall, the Emperor sat authoritatively on the dragon throne, exuding a natural majesty and presence.
“Greetings, Your Majesty.” Mo Han and his uncle bowed ceremoniously, their voices loud and clear.
“Rise.” The Emperor gestured, his voice revealing no emotion, “Did my two esteemed ministers rest well?”
“We rested very well, thank you for your concern, Your Majesty.” Mo Han replied respectfully, though inwardly cautious.
