Capítulo 1714: Chapter 844: Rest and Investigation

“Very well.” The Emperor nodded slightly, “I have prepared everything for you, and you can depart at any time.”

“Depart?” Mo Han asked in feigned surprise, “May I know where Your Majesty wants us to go?”

“Naturally, to eliminate the Blood Ghost Sect.” The Emperor’s eyes flashed with a glint, “I have discovered a stronghold of the Blood Ghost Sect; you can start there to test your skills.”

“Great!” Mo Han’s face lit up with excitement, as if eager to show his prowess, “We will set off at once and will not disappoint Your Majesty’s trust!”

“Wait.” The Emperor suddenly spoke, interrupting Mo Han, “Before you depart, there is one more thing I need to tell you.”

“Oh? What might that be?” Mo Han felt his heart tighten, inwardly acknowledging something was coming.

“It’s about that Crystal Ball.” The Emperor slowly said, staring intently at Mo Han.

“Crystal Ball?” Mo Han feigned ignorance, “What Crystal Ball?”

“The Crystal Ball you discovered in the Blood Ghost Sect’s forbidden area, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten it.” The Emperor’s lips curled into a meaningful smile.

“How did Your Majesty learn about the existence of that Crystal Ball?” Mo Han was shocked, his expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained composure.

“I have my channels of information, no need for you to inquire further.” The Emperor said calmly, “That Crystal Ball is no ordinary Crystal Ball; it contains extremely powerful energy, so much so that this energy could destroy worlds.”

“Energy that could destroy worlds?” Mo Han and his uncle exchanged glances, seeing the shock in each other’s eyes, “What kind of energy is it?”

“An energy capable of destroying everything.” The Emperor’s eyes flashed with a hint of fanaticism, “If used correctly, it can eliminate all enemies, unstoppable!”

“Such powerful energy actually exists?” Mo Han and his uncle could not suppress their excitement, “Then how should we use it? Please instruct us, Your Majesty!”

“Well… I don’t know either.” The Emperor shook his head, dousing them with cold water, “However, I know that the Crystal Ball is related to the Blood Ghost Sect’s ultimate secret. Once you uncover that secret, you will naturally know how to use it.”

“I see.” Mo Han nodded thoughtfully, “Thank you, Your Majesty, for informing us. We will do our utmost to uncover the Blood Ghost Sect’s ultimate secret.”

“Hmm, go now.” The Emperor waved his hand, “Any more questions?”

“No more.” Mo Han shook his head, “We will set out now to eliminate the Blood Ghost Sect and ease Your Majesty’s worries.”

“Good, I await your good news.” The Emperor’s eyes flashed with appreciation, “Go forth, and may your journey be smooth and your ventures successful.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” Mo Han and his uncle bowed deeply once again, then turned and strode out of the Golden Throne Hall.

The two left the Imperial Palace, mounted the swift horses prepared for them, and galloped towards the Blood Ghost Sect stronghold.

“Uncle, what do you think, why did the Emperor tell us all this? What is his true intention?” Mo Han asked, filled with doubt as they rode hard.

“I don’t know either.” Mo Han’s uncle shook his head, furrowing his brow, “However, I feel that the Emperor probably means no harm, at least that’s how it seems for now.”

“Let’s hope so.” Mo Han sighed, “We’d better be cautious; after all, we’re negotiating with a tiger.”

“Hmm.” Mo Han’s uncle nodded, a trace of worry in his eyes, “Let’s first investigate the stronghold to assess the situation before making any plans.”

The two of them galloped along, soon arriving near the Blood Ghost Sect stronghold.

“This is the stronghold of the Blood Ghost Sect,” Mo Han reined in his horse, pointing to a hidden valley ahead, “Let’s go in.”

“Alright.” Mo Han’s uncle nodded, a determined look flashing in his eyes.

The two hid their horses and quietly sneaked into the valley.

Inside the valley, the guards were strict, and Blood Ghost Sect disciples were everywhere, each one exuding a powerful aura and fierce gaze.

“It seems this really is an important stronghold.” Mo Han whispered, staying alert.

“What should we do?” Mo Han’s uncle asked, a hint of tension in his voice.

“Let’s first get a handle on the situation here.” Mo Han thought for a moment, “We’ll split up to see if we can find any clues but remember, don’t act rashly.”

“Alright.” Mo Han’s uncle nodded, signaling his understanding.

The two split up and carefully explored the stronghold.

Mo Han came to a concealed chamber, finding the door slightly ajar, seemingly unlocked.

He gently pushed the door open and slipped inside.

Inside the chamber, various torture devices glinted menacingly, casting a chilling sight, with the air filled with the stench of blood, nauseating to the core.

“This… this seems like a torture chamber.” Mo Han frowned, feeling a surge of disgust.

Holding back his unease, he moved forward, finding at the end of the chamber a desk, upon which lay a book, apparently a ledger.

Picking up the book and flipping through it, Mo Han saw it recorded various forms of torture, the brutality of it causing him to shudder and his stomach to churn.

“This… the Blood Ghost Sect is truly cruel! They’re nothing but a pack of beasts!” Mo Han gritted his teeth in anger, his eyes burning with fury.

Continuing to flip through the book, he suddenly noticed a slip of paper tucked into the last page, seemingly deliberately left.

With interest piqued, Mo Han quickly grabbed the slip, which bore a line of text: “The ultimate secret of the Blood Ghost Sect is hidden within the Imperial Palace of the Tianyuan Empire.”

“What?” Mo Han’s pupils constricted, a turbulent storm surging within him, “The Blood Ghost Sect’s ultimate secret is actually inside the Tianyuan Empire’s Imperial Palace?”

What… what’s going on here? Could it be that the Emperor has been deceiving us from the start?

Mo Han’s mind was in chaos with countless questions bombarding him, leaving him at a loss.

Just then, rapid footsteps could be heard approaching from outside.

Startled, Mo Han quickly tucked the slip into his robe, then swiftly hid in a corner, holding his breath and concealing his presence to the utmost.

Shortly after, two disciples of the Blood Ghost Sect pushed open the door and entered, conversing in hushed tones as they walked.

“What do you think the Elder wants us to do here? So secretive.” One disciple asked in confusion.

“I don’t know either.” The other disciple shook his head, “But I heard there’s someone important imprisoned here, quite significant.”

“Important? What important person requires our personal guarding?” The first disciple was taken aback.

“No idea.” The other disciple shook his head again, “But I heard this person is related to the Blood Ghost Sect’s ultimate secret, which the Elder values greatly.”

“Ultimate secret?” Curiosity flickered in the first disciple’s eyes, “What ultimate secret is so mysterious?”

“Shh, keep your voice down, do you want to die?” The other disciple quickly covered his mouth, “We’d better not ask too many questions; the more you know, the sooner you die, lest you invite trouble.”

“Mm-hmm.” The first disciple nodded quickly, indicating understanding, “Let’s hurry and complete our task, then leave this creepy place; it’s too eerie for comfort.”

“Alright.” The other disciple agreed, quickening his pace.

The pair headed to the end of the chamber, where there was a hidden door that seemed very discreet.
