Chapter 1166: 598: The Gathering Storm

Chapter 1166: Chapter 598: The Gathering Storm

Schmidt’s expression was gloomy; he could already imagine the kind of reproaches he would face. As the Star Alliance representative, becoming the deputy commander of this collaborative effort seemed to have ended in consecutive failures.

He initially thought that the Three Great Civilizations joining forces was a chance to claim glory, but the result turned out like this. He regretted getting himself involved in this mess.

At least he didn’t lose composure like Heins. Instead, he looked at Holmes and said, “Since you’ve discovered Azure Dragon and have the Void Anchor in hand, how come you didn’t catch him?”

There was a hint of blame in his words.

Heins snarled like a provoked dog, “What do you mean, trying to throw this blame onto the Federation?”

Schmidt furrowed his brows but didn’t speak before Holmes responded, “Indeed, I have responsibility in this matter.”

“When I found him, he seemed to be using some kind of high order space technology to gather these metal materials. I used the Void Anchor to blockade, but he exploited a gap with the time distortion force field of the Eternal Silence Star.”

Holmes explained, “I tried to trap him using the Space Corridor and to seal him with the Space-Time Anchor, but Azure Dragon’s power exceeded my imagination. With a single strike, he shattered the unformed ‘Exiled Space’.

He shattered the unformed blockade?

The expressions of all three of them subtly changed, gaining a more direct understanding of Azure Dragon’s formidable strength.

Holmes continued speaking, his expression somewhat off, “But the most bizarre event happened afterward. After delivering that blow, his aura dwindled infinitely…”

“Dwindled infinitely… was that some kind of explosive technique?” Schmidt immediately caught onto it.

Holmes didn’t respond and instead continued, “After dwindling, he entered a death phase.”

“Death phase?”

The three, who were previously lost in thought, gaped in surprise, “What do you mean by death phase?”

Holmes’s face showed changes, “I’m quite certain that Azure Dragon was dead at that time, but for unknown reasons, he resurrected—a scenario that indeed defies understanding, and at that moment, no reactions opened an opportunity for him…”

Azure Dragon…dead?

The silent atmosphere resonated within the confined space; instinctively, none of them believed it.

Isn’t this absurd, dying and then resurrecting?

“Could the Eternal Silence Star reverse time to resurrect someone?” Holmes couldn’t help but ask.

Costate shook his head, “In theory, it’s possible, but even when the Empire controlled the Eternal Silence Star, they never achieved this, let alone Azure Dragon, who now only has half of the fragments.”

“Moreover, there’s another extremely bizarre point,” Holmes added, “his life strength is excessively low, almost unlike an X Level life form.”

Life strength too low? What does this mean? Costate furrowed his brows tightly.

Even while listening to Holmes’s exposition, they all sensed the unpredictability of the situation back then.

Holmes’s slight delay in reaction within such a short time was rather normal.

“What happened?”

Heckler arrived late, and upon entering, was bewildered, “Where are the metal materials here?”

“Azure Dragon came,” Costate summed it up in four words.

Heckler’s expression fluctuated, his gaze landing on Holmes, “Even the Void Anchor couldn’t hold him?”

Costate sighed and briefly explained the situation to him.

Heckler’s expression was uncertain, but ultimately he sneered, “He sure has guts, thinking this will delay us from opening the Holy Castle?”

Schmidt couldn’t help but ask, “Was he delaying the opening of the Holy Castle by raiding this place?”

“Isn’t there another explanation? He likely guessed that our large-scale operation must be related to the Holy Castle,” Heckler reasoned, “Or else he wouldn’t have risked coming here.”

“He’s anxious.”

“This exposes many problems: he can’t resist the Titan Holy Artifact, his explosive methods have flaws, and he himself is problematic!”

“As I said, the limits of an X Level life form are here; how could he possibly surpass this limit?”

Heckler quickly deduced several pieces of information, and the eyes of the others lit up gradually.

Heckler spoke sternly, “The more anxious he becomes, the quicker we must succeed, and find every possible way to compensate for the missing materials!”

Upon hearing him, Heins and Schmidt’s expressions changed, exchanging a glance.

“The Empire should supplement the missing materials; we can’t gather this amount in such a short time.”

“Indeed, under these circumstances, the Empire cannot remain uninvolved.”

The two echoed each other, and Costate’s brows furrowed even deeper.

He naturally didn’t want to bear this loss.

Yet Heckler sneered, “The most important issue now isn’t discussing who should bear this loss but rather how to counter Azure Dragon’s methods.”

“Since he has the power to sweep away the materials here, he has the ability to eliminate any one of us.”

Upon his reminder, even Holmes felt a tightness in his chest.

Silently, Azure Dragon crossed the multiple blockades and entered this central area—who wouldn’t be shocked?

……

“Not being pursued?”

In the Star Gate passageway, Li Ming constantly monitored behind him, somewhat surprised.

He was flying with his physical body, and although both sides were already blockaded, he couldn’t reach the Star Gate Node where Nokes was located.

However, the already opened Star Gate tunnel couldn’t be destroyed with just a few words, and he could still use it for navigation.

“So cautious…” Li Ming muttered to himself, also feeling apprehensive—the power of the Void Anchor was indeed not exaggerated.
