Chapter 258: Chapter 232 All Is an Illusion (10th Update)
On the silent night road, a motorcycle roared past and disappeared into the darkness.
Qiao Yuxian arrived at Qin Xia’s residence as fast as she could.
She heard the incessant sound of gunfire as soon as she got close. She parked the bike, took off her helmet, and immediately entered the villa.
In black tactical gear, a gun at her waist, and an earpiece, she was on the phone with Qin Xia: "Location."
Qin Xia replied, "I’m on the third floor."
"Why are you still going down?" Qiao Yuxian was familiar with this maze-like villa; upon entering, she noticed a number of people inside still advancing upward.
She dealt with people while talking to Qin Xia.
Qin Xia was slightly out of breath: "I’m rushing."
"Be careful, I’m almost there," Qiao Yuxian said.
"Got it."
Qiao Yuxian aimed to find Qin Xia, dodging where she could, not taking unnecessary risks, and engaging only when unavoidable.
She quickly reached the second floor, by which time Qin Xia had already come down from the third floor.
But there were people between them, deliberately keeping them apart upon seeing them.
Qiao Yuxian leaned against a wall and said to Qin Xia, "Stay hidden."
While speaking, she loaded her handgun and dealt with individuals one by one.
Qin Xia chuckled softly, speaking casually, "Watch out for people coming up from the first floor."
"Yeah," Qiao Yuxian replied flatly.
Qin Xia didn’t have a gun. Told to stay hidden, she really found a dead corner to sit in for a brief rest.
She wasn’t worried about Qiao Yuxian at all.
Knowing Qiao Yuxian’s real combat power, even if twice as many came, she’d handle it easily.
Back in the day, she saw Qiao Yuxian single-handedly take on the entire Qin Family, snatch her away, and save her life.
Qiao Yuxian also positioned herself at a corner, where she could take out the people between her and Qin Xia, while remaining unseen by those coming up from the first floor, and easily handle them as they arrived.
Soon, Qiao Yuxian had dealt with most of the people. Hearing the sounds, Qin Xia peeked at Qiao Yuxian.
Looking at Qiao Yuxian’s long legs and slim waist, she couldn’t help but whistle.
Qiao Yuxian: "...... In a good mood, huh."
"Not bad," Qin Xia downplayed it.
Qiao Yuxian smirked slightly, tossing her a gun and some bullets.
Qin Xia caught them, loading the bullets into the gun leisurely.
"Did Qin Rui come?" Qiao Yuxian asked.
Qin Rui was Qin Xia’s brother, a real brother.
"Haven’t seen him," Qin Xia replied.
Qiao Yuxian nodded, listening to the intensifying gunfire downstairs: "Why are they so pumped up?"
Qin Xia glanced downward.
Qiao Yuxian said, "Together?"
"Separately," Qin Xia decisively replied.
Qiao Yuxian said nothing more, turned around, and jumped from the balcony on one side.
Qin Xia glanced after her, also flipped down from the balcony on her side.
The two planned to use the villa’s advantageous layout to trap everyone inside from both sides.
Qiao Yuxian quickly entered the maze-like structure, perfect for gunfights.
But Qiao Yuxian didn’t just use a gun; she showed them the terror of close combat.
Her strikes were incredibly fast and powerful, seemingly limitless in strength when met with resistance, like her attack power knew no boundaries.
From the edge of the maze, she moved inward bit by bit, approaching the more spacious central area.
With her gun out of bullets, Qiao Yuxian holstered it behind her, approaching to knee and topple one person, then grabbed another’s arm, twisting it backwards, and using it to leverage herself to kick an approaching person away.
She then kicked the person she’d been holding, making them collapse as well.
After swiftly taking down a few others, she reloaded quickly when the surroundings were clear.
In that instant, more arrived.
With bullets loaded, she chambered one, pulling another gun from her waist and chambering it as well.
She turned, guns pointed behind, just as two people turned from opposite sides, aiming at her.
Both sides acted in the same moment, none faster than the other.
Qiao Yuxian’s finger nearly pulled the trigger before pausing on seeing their faces.
Opposite her, both Gu Yanjing and Lin Huai Shu looked visibly stunned as well.
Qiao Yuxian in her black tactical outfit, fitted waist, tight sleeves, looked sharp and agile. With a high ponytail, from top to bottom, she bore none of her usual gentle demeanor.
Instead, she exuded a terrifying ferocity.
Though it was the same face.
Yet her face seemed covered in a cold frost, void of expression or emotion.
Like a ruthless assassin.
Her eyes were filled with bloodlust.
Gu Yanjing was briefly stunned, quickly accepting the sight, holstering his gun and holding Lin Huai Shu’s arm down.
Qiao Yuxian hadn’t expected them to be there; she too hesitated, lowering her gun-holding hand.
Gu Yanjing approached her.
While Lin Huai Shu stood there, utterly at a loss.
Eyes wide, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
Before Gu Yanjing got close, Qiao Yuxian suddenly turned, someone was approaching.
She saw a tall man with a gun rounding the corner, but her shot was faster than the man who’d aimed first, hitting his gun arm precisely.
Simultaneously, there was another shot to his shoulder.
That was Gu Yanjing’s shot.
The man, yet to react, dropped his gun, clutching his shoulder, kneeling on the ground.
Lin Huai Shu’s mouth gaped further.
What devilish marksmanship was this?
How did she manage such precision at such speed?
Qiao Yuxian glanced at the man ahead, then tilted her head to Gu Yanjing, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Mr. Gu, impressive shooting."
Gu Yanjing looked at her fierce eyes, raising a hand to touch her face, "Didn’t you say you couldn’t?"
Qiao Yuxian pondered, recalling saying at a shooting range she couldn’t shoot well. She chuckled, "Didn’t Mr. Gu teach me well?"
Gu Yanjing watching her dim eyes light up, "Yeah, you learned fast."
Qiao Yuxian chuckled again, then said, "Qin Xia is over there, I’ll take you to her."
"Alright."
"Huai Shu," Gu Yanjing called back to him.
Lin Huai Shu snapped out of it, stepping forward to Qiao Yuxian, baffled, "Sister-in-law."
"Mr. Lin," Qiao Yuxian replied.
Lin Huai Shu dumbly tugged the corners of his mouth into a smile.
He now suddenly could connect Qiao Yuxian and the Yunzhong Building.
He understood.
The gentleness, the demureness, all a façade!
All a façade!
Yunzhong Building was the reality!
The sister-in-law before him was the reality!
Lin Huai Shu, amazed, followed them to Qin Xia’s side.
After this, Qiao Yuxian barely needed to lift a finger.
No need at all. She simply stood by, and Gu Yanjing handled everything.
The cold-faced killer quickly turned back into a sweet little fairy...
