Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Three-on-Three, Smooth Sailing!
Victor moved fast. In under thirty seconds, Logan got a video.
In it, Victor, Blair, and Klein were down on one knee, looking unwilling, and said together: "Sorry."
They didn’t sound sincere, but Logan still forwarded the video to the group chat.
In an instant, the chat blew up, messages flying by.
"Whoa! Boss Logan is awesome—he actually made Victor apologize!"
"Am I seeing this right? The Tattalia family’s golden boy kneeling, and I get to watch it for free?"
"Look at those faces—worse than crying. Why does this feel so satisfying? Hahaha!"
"Boss Logan, got more? Post more, I love this! Hehe!"
...
Seeing the comments pile up, Logan muted the group.
Then he sent one last announcement: "Want Victor to kneel on the arena again? If yes, save the last three arena spots for him."
Likes under the post shot past three hundred right away, and kept climbing.
At the same time, the people on the platform waiting for the internal matches all turned to look at Logan, shocked.
"Whoa, is Boss Logan going to teach Victor a lesson himself?"
"This is so hype! We’re about to witness a historic moment!"
"Go guard the island entrance! Don’t let randoms take the spots!"
In no time, many members who had made it into the internal matches stepped off the arena and went to guard the island entrance.
In the stands, people frowned at the scene, looking confused.
The City Lord of Saint Heart City called Sophia and Lucia right away to ask what was going on.
On the island, Sophia and Lucia had been watching Logan’s every move.
Neither of them expected the trial phase before the internal matches to be turned into this by Logan.
Now, they were stuck. If they intervened, it was a problem. If they didn’t, it was also a problem.
The audience saw the qualified members teaming up to block the squads trying to board the island. They were upset and questioned the fairness of the matches.
By the rules, Sophia and Lucia should step in and stop it.
But if they did, Victor’s team might really get knocked out early.
Facing the City Lord’s questions, Sophia had no choice but to tell the truth: "City Lord, it’s best we do nothing right now, or Victor’s team will be eliminated ahead of time."
The City Lord sat next to General Philip and Sorenso, looking calm.
But after heaarena Sophia’s report, his face went pale.
Then City Lord Garen shifted in his seat, putting some space between himself and Philip and Sorenso, and said in a low voice: "Victor must qualify for the internal matches! He’s a supernova seed backed by the federal legislators. Even if you want someone to beat him, it has to be done fair and square on the arena. Got it?"
His tone was stern. Sophia and Lucia knew how serious this was and agreed at once.
If the Tattalia family’s seed was isolated and set up by other Genius Training Camp members, the geniuses from the Adventurers Association and the Pharmacists Association would be dragged into it too.
News like this will get blown up. It won’t just hurt the authority and fairness of the Genius Training Camp—it’ll offend three factions at once and weaken unity inside the federation.
Lucia originally wanted to see what tricks Logan could pull.
But she didn’t expect him to go this wild—leading cheating, fixing rankings, and extorting people.
"Sophia, you really handed me a super troublemaker," Lucia said, rubbing her forehead with a sigh, worry all over her face.
"Tch, wasn’t it you who stopped me from shutting down the network base stations?" Sophia lifted her chin and refused to take the blame.
"Ha, you know I’m not afraid of trouble. I’m only worried Logan isn’t strong enough and might get killed by Victor," Lucia said, taking a bite of crab and sighing.
"Relax. You should be worried about whether Victor and his two teammates will get toyed with until they’re finished by Logan," Sophia said, snatching the crab and biting in.
"Toyed to death?" Lucia froze at that word.
"Yes." Sophia said, turning serious. "Compared to that, you should be worried about Victor."
...
As more camp members crowded onto the arena, the audience focused harder on the lineup.
But no matter how they looked, Victor never showed up. People frowned, puzzled.
Since Victor, Blair, and Klein each represented the face of their own factions, the Tattalia family, the Adventurers Association, and the Pharmacists Association had spent a lot to hype them up.
So the three were very well-known—yet none of them appeared.
In the stands, Sorenso’s face was pitch dark. General Philip had already mocked him more times than he could count.
But the head of the Tattalia family could do nothing now.
Soon, Member No. 200 set foot on the island.
Then Member No. 201 went up.
By the time Member No. 251 landed, there was still no sign of Victor. Sorenso lost his cool.
"Damn it! There’s definitely something shady going on in the Genius Training Camp!" he roared, standing up. "You people owe me an explanation today!"
As he spoke, his aura swelled. Behind him, in his familiar Blood Cultivation Realm, faint shapes of countless eyes appeared.
General Philip reached out and pushed Sorenso back into his seat. "Sorenso, if you want to go crazy, find somewhere empty. Don’t disturb the kids while they’re being tested."
His grip was powerful, a metallic sheen showing on his skin—clearly he had activated his familiar possession state.
Sorenso couldn’t match his power and sat down, seething. In a cold voice, he said, "Philip, with Victor’s strength, there’s no way he doesn’t even qualify for the internal matches. I will find out why. The pride of the Tattalia family won’t be made a joke of."
He was about to stand up again when a small dark dot appeared outside the island.
It was likely the last batch of members who had earned spots in the internal matches.
Sorenso took a deep breath, pulled out his binoculars, and looked into the distance.
Only when he saw Victor and the others in the lens did his anger ease a little. "They made it! As long as he can get on the arena! As long as he can get on the arena!"
He kept repeating it, making General Philip roll his eyes hard. "Sorenso, are you done? What’s there to brag about just getting on the arena? Rankings are earned in a fight."
"Hmph. Philip, do you think Victor, once he’s on the arena, will lose to this bunch of average students?" Sorenso relaxed at last after seeing Victor appear.
He picked up a glass of red wine and sipped it, smacking his lips as he warned in a grim tone, "City Lord Garen, my grandson must have faced something unfair just now. On the arena, he might not hold back. I want the staff not to interfere. As long as Victor can fight to his heart’s content, I promise the Tattalia family won’t pursue that earlier unfair treatment."
Garen’s face changed. "You mean remove the safety measures? Let these kids go all out? That’s too dangerous—someone could get killed!"
Sorenso gave a mocking smile.
Then he waved his hand and slipped a black-and-gold card into City Lord Garen’s palm. "No problem. Getting hurt, crippled, or even killed on the arena can happen. If something does happen, the Tattalia family will fully cover compensation for the injured."
Heaarena this, City Lord Garen tried to persuade him again, but General Philip stopped him. "Since Sorenso is being generous, just take the card. But let’s be clear: no one is allowed to die. That’s the bottom line."
Sorenso shrugged. "Fine. Victor is still young and needs to build his reputation. It’s not good to stain it with deaths. I’ll tell him to show restraint—leave them injured, not dead."
After that promise, General Philip and City Lord Garen both rolled their eyes.
By then, Victor and his two teammates had stepped onto the arena.
They scanned the students around them who had joined the internal match, a flash of killing intent in their eyes.
Just as the three were hesitating about whether to strike back, Sophia dropped from above into the center of the arena, neatly cutting Victor’s trio off from the other students.
"Everyone’s here. Let’s begin." Sophia said, wasting no time as she announced the start of the internal match.
The internal match was in team format: three-on-three, full-on brawls.
Teams can decide for themselves whether to go one-on-one or all charge in together.
Soon, Logan, Sawako, and Yelena got their turn to go on the arena.
Just as they stepped up, something unexpected happened.
The three across from Logan suddenly threw a white towel and said with a smile: "We concede."
That one short line echoed across the whole arena.
For a moment, the crowd was stunned.
"What’s going on? Giving up before the fight even starts?"
"Damn, that’s so cowardly. No guts at all!"
"The head instructor of the Genius Training Camp owes us an explanation—we paid to watch!"
The complaints from the stands quickly hit a peak.
The ones who had just given up were instantly drowned in boos and curses.
Logan looked at their sorry state and frowned. "Why surrender?"
They turned to him and grinned, looking very sincere. "We’re already happy just to make it into the internal match! You should save your strength and your trump cards—and take Victor down for us!"
