Chapter 66: Immortal-Cup Part 7: Five devils. Three saints.

Perkele (God of Debauchery, Depravity and Defilement) - Atkoosa (God of Suns):

The announcer says "People! We are at the Quarter Finals of the Immortal-Cup! That means that we have... ah... Perkele vs. Atkoosa. The king of gods vs. the DDD of savagery. I vote for Atkoosa, but Perkele has been kind of going strong, so we’ll have to just wait and see how this’ll go.

Let’s welcome our contestants! Perkele and Atkoosa!"

Perkele and Atkoosa enter the arena, both with a smile on their face. Perkele says "It has been a while since we last fought."

Atkoosa says "What are you talking about? We disagree all the time."

Perkele laughs and says "So that is how you are gonna play. No worries. I appreciate humor."

Then the two are sent to a pocket dimension that looks like a desert where the sun is shining.

Perkele comments "So this again. Well, I can work with it."

Atkoosa starts the battle by summoning a miniature sun to the sky to fry Perkle. Perkele just waves his hand to cool himself as he says "Wow. It is getting a bit heated over here."

Atkoosa smiles and says "You sure are something. Not even this will faze you. Then how about this?"

Then Atkoosa drops the miniature sun right where Perkele stands. The sun melts the sand almost instantly and the battle is seemingly over.

Then Perkele appears behind Atkoosa and says "Kind of an overkill, don’t you think?"

Atkoosa steps away and shoots sun flares at Perkele, which Perkele dodged effortlessly.

Atkoosa comments "Why is it that now you are showing extreme battle prowess and not when we had to fight the abyss."

Perkele says "It isn’t as much as being good in battles as it is being able to dodge most attacks."

Atkoosa chuckles and summons his sun sword that radiates heat. Then he attacks Perkele as he jumps at him with a downward slash.

Perkele dodges and kicks Atkoosa away "You really thought that if dropping a sun at me didn’t work that you swinging your sword fast enough would cut it? Some leader you are, my guy."

Atkoosa continues a flurry of attacks, but Perkele either dodges or blocks them with his knives.

Eventually, as one slash almost hits Perkele, he spins in the air, jabs his knife on Atkoosa’s shoulder with the momentum of the spin and jumps away as Atkoosa swings his sword at Perkele’s direction.

Atkoosa starts to caught out his golden blood immediately after he finishes his swing. His muscles began to twitch and Atkoosa said "So you are using your power finally."

Perkele shrugs in response and Atkoosa readies for a final attack before Perkele’s power overwhelms him.

Atkoosa closes his eyes as the sword’s tip hits the ground. Then he takes a stand and the sword starts to emit the power of thousands of suns.

Perkele waits in anticipation even though he could just ruin the attack with his power. He wants to see how it’ll go.

Atkoosa then swings the enormous weight that is the sword he is holding and slices the sky asunder. Even the audience is feeling the heat that is coming from somewhere unknown.

Perkele appears behind Atkoosa and looks at the view Atkoosa had made. He then says "Wow. You really would have got me if I hadn’t dodged."

Atkoosa laughs once and says "Don’t joke around. You could have stopped me from swinging the sword in the first place."

Atkoosa then falls to the ground and Perkele comments "I’m not very much known for lies. You of all people should know that."

And thus, the battle ended in Perkele’s victory.

When the two gods went back to the arena, Atkoosa slammed Perkele’s back multiple times in amusement as he said loudly "Well I’ll be. I really thought I had that one for a second there. That is why I started with one of my strongest tricks."

Perkele laughs and says "If we were at our full power, I’m sure you would have defeated me."

Atkoosa laughs "Of course! I am the king of gods after all!"

.

Cheesos (God of Tactics and Luck) - Taboo (Hex God):

The announcer says "Well that was strangely tame for a match where Perkele was in. But that aside, Atkoosa really did bring in the heat here. I’m actually sweating.

But moving on, next is our beloved patron of tacticians Cheesos vs. patron of witches Taboo. With Taboo’s track record so far, I’d say this won’t take long. But let’s find out if I’m wrong or not."

Cheesos and Taboo appear in the arena and Cheesos says "Now listen here. I’m not going to get caught by one of your petty tricks like others. So come at me like you would in a real battle."

Taboo is silent for a moment and then she says "Ok. I’ll do that for once."

Then the two are sent to a pocket dimension that looks like a ghost town. Cheesos thought to herself "Darn. I really hope that she really doesn’t have any..."

And then branches began to sprout from a crack on the ground that pierced Cheesos’ shoulders and held her in place for a moment.

Cheesos used her strength to break free of those branches, but as she fell back to the ground, the ground caved in and Cheesos was seemingly buried alive.

Cheesos managed to have a little pocket of space underground, and she thought about what she could do next.

Then Taboo appeared from one of the walls and stabbed Cheesos with her hand.

Now that Taboo appeared, Cheesos dropped a few explosives around her and hoped she’d be the last one alive.

Taboo just responded with "Oh" as the pocket under the ground exploded in a violent manner.

Both were buried alive and torn to pieces, but this time, luck wasn’t on Cheesos’ side and Taboo managed to die just a little later than she did. And hence, Taboo won the match.

Once back in the arena, Cheesos muttered "Darn. I really thought that would work. You won this time, but next time, I’ll..."

Taboo began to leave before Cheesos could finish and this made Cheesos flustered.

Cheesos shouted "I’ll win next time!"

Taboo stopped for a moment and said "I didn’t think that you weren’t planning something when you asked me to fight face to face. Even though I hesitated at the start, you still made me want to finish the battle in person. Well played, but too bad I won."

Cheesos is stunned at how much Taboo spoke just now and she says a little embarrassed "Aw shucks. That was just a little friendly banter, that’s all."

Then Taboo walked away.

.

Zolon Tokiko Eishi Ilumnos (Archon of the Abyss) - Mathews Witsur (King of Death):

The announcer says "I don’t know what else to say but at least we got to see Taboo physically there this time.

But no time to waste. Next up is the archon of the abyss who will be facing the king of death.

To be honest, I don’t know who has a better chance to win. The archon is tough and so far hasn’t taken any damage, but the king has a quite powerful attack on his arsenal.

Let’s see if the king of death can beat the archon’s impenetrable defence, shall we?"

Toki and Thews enter the arena and Toki asks him "You wouldn’t happen to want to have a genuine test of skills or are you going to use The Fallen again?"

Thews answers "I’m sorry, but I cannot afford to lose."

Toki responds "Yeah, I heard Mercy say something about that too, but why won’t you just open up about it?"

Thews doesn’t say anything and Toki says "If you are that stubborn about it, then there is nothing I can do. Let’s get this over with and see if the Fallen can penetrate eonite."

The two contestants are sent to a city of stone, fitting to be one of Toki’s arenas.

The moment they step foot on the pocket realm, Toki can feel the energy of The Fallen emerge and she tries to counterattack, but she can’t move fast enough to do anything about The Fall.

So Toki gets defeated and Thews is the winner.

When they get back to the arena, Toki says "You really show no mercy this time, huh."

Thews says before he leaves "I’m sorry."

Thews leaves without saying another word and Toki looks at him with worry in her eye.

.

Fein (God of Ruin) - Epithos (God of Remembrance and Reflection):

The announcer says "Well that was quick. Honestly, I expected the archon of the abyss of all people to be able to do something about that attack, but oh well. Good guys win? Anyways, let’s move on.

Next up is Fein and Epithos. One is about being forgotten and the other is about being remembered. Which one will prevail? Honestly, as concepts alone, I think Fein has held the keys this time, but let’s see if Epithos has something up his sleeve."

Fein and Epithos enter the arena and Fein says to Epithos "Why don’t you just surrender and move on? I mean I have to seriously hold back if we are going to make this anything fair."

Epithos says "While I personally agree, I don’t want to be the one god remembered forfeiting before the match even starts."

Fein says "While I can just erase that memory, I think that would just leave a bad taste in my mouth if I look back on it. Fine, let’s do this."

The two are sent to a pocket dimension that looks like slums.

Epithos starts by sending out his summons to attack Fein. Fein responded by erasing those summons, memories of heroes, leaving nothing behind.

In reality, nothing left people’s memory, but in that pocket dimension, even Epithos couldn’t remember who he even sent out in the first place.

Epithos tried again and again, but Fein just erased the memories of those summons from memory.

Eventually, Fein just made Epithos forget anyone other than himself, making him having a mental breakdown for a moment

"But... there has to be people... I’ve sent them, but... I cannot... recall... who is there... the memory of... what? ... The world? But what is the world? I... I can’t remember." Epithos mumbled to himself.

Then Epithos turned to Fein, whose name he couldn’t recall either "You... I’m... here to fight you with... figures of history. But... What figures are there? Who are you? Who am I?"

Fein sighs and sends a small ember float to Epithos, and once it touches Epithos, he crumbles like he always was a pile of dust.

Fein won.

Once the two gods were back in the arena, Epithos came back to his senses and said with little fear in his voice "Well... That was... an experience. I’m sorry you had to see me like this, brother of mine."

Fein left the arena with the words "Who are you calling your brother now of all people?"

And with that, the Quarter Finals of Immortal-Cup ended and next up was the semi finals.

.

The contestants for the Immortal-Cup Semi Finals are as follows:

Perkele (God of Debauchery, Depravity and Defilement) - Taboo (Hex God)

Mathews Witsur (King of Death) - Fein (God of Ruin)
