Chapter 314: Chapter 314: A Benevolent Physician
Ian Keane coldly said, "Impossible."
Timmy Monroe, seeing Ivana Monroe drowsy, was terrified and suddenly said, "Brother, I believe him, I believe he will help us cure Mommy."
Timmy Monroe cried to Leo Griffin, "Grandpa Leo, I’m begging you, please help save Mommy."
Grandpa Leo?
Leo Griffin was startled, thinking of his own useless son who hadn’t gotten married yet and given him a chubby grandson. Hearing a child call him grandpa made Leo Griffin very happy.
"Hmm, leave it to Grandpa Leo."
Leo Griffin patted his chest and made a promise.
The "little lion" Ian Keane stood in front of Ivana Monroe, making Leo Griffin a bit apprehensive. With his many years of medical practice, he could tell that this little boy’s personality had issues.
It’s best not to provoke such a child.
How could two identical kids have completely different personalities? One gentle like a little lamb, making people like him, the other irritable like a little lion, making people feel cold?
Leo Griffin said to Timmy Monroe, "Good child, why don’t you go to the side with your brother, okay?"
Leo Griffin was testing to see if Timmy Monroe could help him get Ian Keane away; he was really afraid that the irritable Ian Keane would suddenly jump up and bite him.
"Hmm."
Timmy Monroe nodded, gently pulling on Ian Keane’s sleeve: "Brother, look at Mommy, her face is so pale, I’m so scared. Can we trust Grandpa Leo? He’s a good doctor."
Leo Griffin thought Timmy Monroe would have to persuade for at least ten minutes, but as soon as Timmy finished speaking, Ian Keane nodded.
Ian Keane looked coldly at Leo Griffin, the little figure exuding a powerful intimidation: "You better do what you say. If you dare to play tricks in front of me, I, Ian Keane, will definitely not let you off."
Leo Griffin shuddered all over.
Ian Keane?
That name was so familiar.
Leo Griffin suddenly remembered, this was the precious grandson of the Kane family. Leo Griffin’s gaze at Ian Keane became somewhat complex.
"Don’t worry! Kids, your mommy will be fine."
Leo Griffin had the police help carry Ivana Monroe to the operating table. In principle, an operating room should be closed during surgery, but to reassure the two children, Old Leo didn’t do so.
The operating rooms of hospitals are pretty much the same.
Leo Griffin quickly found the needed tools, he put on transparent disposable medical gloves and administered anesthesia to Ivana Monroe first.
"Old Leo... Old Leo... What are you doing in there? How can you operate on a patient at Mount Cygnus Hospital without permission? Old Leo, don’t do it!" The person shouting outside was Old Leo’s assistant.
He and Old Leo had come to Mount Cygnus Hospital to handle some business.
Mount Cygnus Hospital is a private hospital. They didn’t hire Old Leo to be an expert doctor here. Doing this would be detrimental to his own career!
Because even if you cure a patient in another hospital, they won’t be grateful. Instead, they’ll say you’re meddling and showing off. If an accident happens during hospitalization, they’ll blame it on you, Old Leo.
In short, it’s a thankless task.
The assistant was desperately anxious, wanting to rush into the operating room to stop it, but was blocked by the police.
The onlookers were advising the assistant noisily.
"The benevolence of a doctor, how can you persuade a doctor not to save a person?"
"Exactly, in a world where we should unite, why divide between First People’s Hospital and Mount Cygnus Hospital at such a time? Saving lives should be the positive energy promoted by doctors."
"Right, don’t clamor and cause trouble; just watch Old Leo save lives quietly!"
Jack Quinn and several other doctors arrived upon hearing the news.
They saw the scene in the operating room.
Jack Quinn’s pupils constricted, and his face turned grim.
Damn it, what on earth is going on? How did Leo Griffin end up tied up, covered in blood and lying on the ground? Who is this old geezer performing surgery on Ivana Monroe? Why does the back look so familiar?
"What’s going on?"
Jack Quinn deliberately shouted loudly.
If there was a doctor without steadiness, they would surely be startled into trembling by Jack Quinn’s shout.
But Old Leo was not so.
Countless clinical surgeries had already trained him to be as calm as a mountain. As long as he was on the operating table, he focused entirely on the patient, unaffected by any disturbance outside, no matter how big.
Years ago, during the earthquake in Yarmouth, he went to provide support; he overcame aftershocks during the process of treating patients.
Jack Quinn’s voice had absolutely no disruptive effect on him.
When Jack Quinn realized that the elderly figure inside was ignoring him, his heart became very displeased.
What arrogance, huh?
This is his father’s Mount Cygnus Hospital, and this old guy comes to his turf to show off?
Jack Quinn frowned, and the lackeys next to him pushed through the crowd of onlookers: "Everyone, clear the way, this is the director’s son, our Director Quinn."
When Jack Quinn attempted to enter the operating room, he was stopped by the police.
Jack Quinn voiced his discontent: "I’m the person in charge of Mount Cygnus, what exactly is happening here? Why is our orthopedic doctor tied up? How come there’s a stranger performing surgery on a patient in our operating room? Who will take responsibility if something goes wrong?"
Jack Quinn’s voice was very sharp.
"Director Quinn, the one performing surgery inside is Mr. Leo, the esteemed elder from the First People’s Hospital, Leo Griffin. Surely you’ve heard of him? Mr. Leo’s professional level is the best in Ravenswood’s orthopedics, this is beyond doubt, any acknowledgement across Ravenswood would agree."
Jack Quinn was shocked, Leo Griffin the esteemed elder? How could he be in Mount Cygnus’s operating room?
Why is he helping Ivana Monroe with surgery?
Ivana Monroe’s luck, isn’t it just too good?
Jack Quinn didn’t want Ivana Monroe’s foot to be cured, so he loudly said, "You claim he’s Old Leo, is he? I need him to stop the surgery immediately. If the patient specifically requests Old Leo to perform the surgery, then we should transfer the patient to another hospital now."
During the transfer, who can ensure a smooth journey all the way?
It would be too simple for Jack Quinn to orchestrate a little problem with the vehicle.
"I can vouch for him." The assistant couldn’t bear anyone questioning Old Leo; he came over with all the credentials ready: "I’m Old Leo’s assistant. You can call to verify with the First People’s Hospital now, or go there with me. I take full responsibility for what I’ve said."
Jack Quinn felt a strong urge to kick the assistant to death, asking why he was meddling?
"I don’t care who you people claim to be. You must stop the surgery immediately. This is Mount Cygnus; without my permission, outside doctors have no right to use Mount Cygnus’s operating room."
The police were troubled, this was Jack Quinn’s domain, they couldn’t intervene too much, they turned to look at Old Leo performing surgery on Ivana Monroe, it was a critical moment in the operation.
Stopping the surgery now.
Would have very serious consequences.
Even the policemen without surgical knowledge could see it.
"How can Mount Cygnus be so inhumane?"
