Chapter 104: Chapter 104: He Wants to Bite Her Red Lips

"Is it done?" His gaze grew increasingly intense, and Ivana could feel it, yet she dared not move, fearing that it might provoke Leon’s primal desires. She tried to ask as naturally as possible.

"Almost."

Leon slowed his application of the ointment, letting his fingertips linger a bit longer on her cheek, enjoying the sensation of her tender skin, so smooth and elastic.

Ivana’s beauty was all-natural, unlike those actresses who went under the knife for fame, their expressions stiff, thick foundations barely covering the pinpricks of the fillers.

"Is it done?" Ivana asked again, her brow slightly furrowed. How could it take so long for him to apply some ointment?

He should have taken advantage of her by now!

Leon saw her biting her lip, his breath catching suddenly. How enticing was that gesture?

Images that shouldn’t have crossed Leon’s mind flashed through, and he wanted to bite her red lips.

"Hmm."

Leon swallowed hard, his fingers leaving her cheek, turning his gaze away as he straightened in his seat.

His eyes looked ahead, pupils dilated, almost filling the whites of his eyes, lost in thought.

Ivana didn’t look at Leon. The moment he let go of her chin, she turned her face away, fearing Leon might regret his actions and scheme something else against her.

Leon spoke as if he were a gentleman, promising not to initiate any touch with her in the future.

But with men, sometimes reason can’t overpower their baser instincts.

"Thank you." Ivana adjusted her mindset and spoke quietly.

He just sat there in the driver’s seat, lost in thought, not offering to drive her back. Ivana didn’t know what else to say to him, so a simple thank you seemed appropriate.

Leon finally snapped out of it, acknowledged with a "Hmm," picked up the car keys, and started the engine.

Leon drove Ivana home, and this time he didn’t linger obnoxiously after dropping her off but turned and left.

He definitely needed a cold shower.

The next day at the office, Ivana received a letter from a lawyer.

It was a letter from Bella Young, specifically accusing Timmy Monroe of fracturing Franklin Young’s face, resulting in Franklin’s hospitalization. Bella had contacted an overseas medical institution by phone and had already sent Franklin abroad, estimating the treatment and care costs at eighty thousand, plus fifty thousand for emotional damages, nutritional costs, and Franklin’s parent’s lost income, totaling a compensation amount of one hundred and thirty thousand.

Seeing the compensation amount, Ivana couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

One hundred and thirty thousand? Why doesn’t Bella just rob a bank?

At that moment, Ivana’s phone suddenly rang. She slid her finger to answer: "Hello, who is this?"

A familiar voice came through to Ivana’s ear.

"Ivana, it’s me! Ivy Linden. Did you receive the letter from Bella Young today?"

"I got it, Ivy. Did you receive one too?"

Ivana instinctively thought Ivy had also received a letter from Bella and was calling to ask about it.

"I didn’t. I just remembered the way Bella looked when she left that day, as if she wouldn’t let things rest, so I figured she’d try to mess with you."

Ivy was spot on with her hunch but didn’t tell Ivana she knew about Bella sending the letter beforehand because the lawyer Bella hired worked at her husband Samuel Lockwood’s company.

Ivana felt a rush of emotion, "Ivy, thank you, but don’t worry, I can handle this myself."

Ivy felt more worried for Ivana hearing her say that because she already knew the lengths Bella had gone to against Ivana, even spending huge sums to have Franklin treated abroad, aiming for a crippling blow to Ivana.

Bella had already gotten the jump, retrieving the video from that day at the amusement park of Timmy hitting Franklin, a solid piece of evidence.

"Ivana, why be so formal with me? By the way, I know a great lawyer. Let me introduce you! He can help with the case, increase your chances of winning."

Ivy wanted to help Ivana, wishing she could take the case off Ivana’s hands but knew Ivana wouldn’t allow it.

Suggesting it might backfire, perhaps Ivana wouldn’t even consider the lawyer she recommended.

Ivy had to find ways to help behind the scenes.

Ivana thanked her again; although Ivy treated her like a good friend, this wasn’t politeness but courtesy.

Ivana indeed needed a suitable lawyer to help with the case.

After hanging up,

Ivy gave Counselor Joyce’s number to Ivana.

Ivana dialed Counselor Joyce’s number, hearing his deep and pleasant voice over the phone.

They arranged to meet in the afternoon at a café to discuss further.

Ivy put down her phone, only to be pulled into Samuel Lockwood’s embrace: "Darling, I gave your Anne our company’s star lawyer, Counselor Joyce. Shouldn’t I get a reward with a kiss?"

Samuel shamelessly pointed at his lips.

Ivy blushingly tapped her finger on his lips: "In your dreams. The matter isn’t resolved yet! Darling, I don’t care. I want Bella Young to lose the case. Anne must win."

Samuel playfully bit Ivy’s finger lightly. She withdrew her hand, face flushed.

Samuel laughed, "My dear wife, aren’t you asking a bit much? Every lawyer works tirelessly to maximize their client’s benefits. Counselor Silas can at most help Anne save on overseas medical and lost income expenses but still compensates based on domestic standards. You want Anne to win outright, asking me to make the lawyer handling Bella’s case cheat? That would ruin the lawyer’s reputation."

Ivy immediately put on a stern little face: "What? You think I’m asking too much? Fine! You already think I’m being unreasonable. Who knows what you’d think in the future. I might as well be smart and pack my bags now, leave this home... boo hoo..."

Ivy burst into tears, tears rolling like a string of pearls.

Samuel panicked, surrendering at once: "I was wrong, honey, I was wrong. My wife’s request isn’t too much. Bella Young losing the case? So

Easy."

Ivy looked at Samuel pitifully through tear-streaked eyes: "Darling, are you serious? No lying, okay!"

Samuel affectionately brushed Ivy’s nose: "When have I ever lied to my dear wife?"
