Chapter 127: Chapter 127: The Young Family—I’ll Handle Them

"Are you sure you don’t know?" Leon Keane looked at Ivana Monroe with suspicion.

Timmy almost revealed the attacker, but suddenly fell silent. Ivana must have secretly signaled Timmy not to speak out.

Why is she being so stubborn? Or, does she simply not trust him? Does she not want him meddling in her affairs?

His gaze was cold and piercing, exuding a chilling aura, as if to penetrate her body and see through her.

Ivana couldn’t help but shiver; Leon Keane’s icy gaze probably already guessed her concealment. This man was not easy to fool.

"Leon Keane, even if I tell you, what do you plan to do then? You’re so furious right now. Are you planning to retaliate using the same method?" Resorting to violence is often the most unwise choice.

Moreover, Old Madam Young was prepared; she caught her and Timmy Monroe in the ward and barged in to attack Timmy. Later, when the director sent someone to check the surveillance, they found it broken, indicating that Old Madam Young had thought of everything and arranged it before coming.

Ivana had seen Leon Keane’s fiery temper before. At a banquet, he directly beat up Mr. Morris; that time was sudden and in such a setting, he had no issue with hitting Mr. Morris.

But is Old Madam Young like Mr. Morris?

If Leon really went with people to attack, and the video of the beating made its way online, public criticism would drown him.

This is the last thing Ivana wants to see.

"I can’t do that? Ivana, put away your compassion. Your meekness will only invite more bullying. I can ignore you, but Timmy is my son. I cannot ignore him. Whoever bullies him, I, as his father, must seek justice."

This woman doesn’t want his involvement? Fine, he won’t get involved with her, but she has no right to stop him from punishing those scum who bully his son.

No one gets to bully Leon Keane’s son at will.

Compassion?

Ivana laughed inwardly; she had died once and crawled out of hell. She didn’t expect Leon to think of her as "compassionate."

Weakness?

She had lived abroad with Timmy for six years, and the moment she returned to Ravenswood, she lost the privilege to be weak.

"Think whatever you like, do whatever you please!" Ivana had a fatigue in her eyes, not wanting to continue arguing with him.

"Who is it?" Leon asked again.

"It should be Timmy’s classmate’s grandmother. The kid’s name is Franklin Young. He had minor conflicts with Timmy in kindergarten. The other day, I took Timmy to the amusement park, and they brought Franklin too, leading to another physical clash..."

"Was Timmy hurt?" Leon frowned and asked.

"No, but Timmy ended up hurting Franklin. Just the day after the incident, Franklin’s mother went to the kindergarten to see the principal, and I was called too. She said Franklin was hospitalized by Timmy’s hitting."

"I guess that’s why Franklin’s grandmother came to seek justice for her grandson!"

Ivana said what had to be said. Her head hurt, and what Leon wished to do was his business.

Leon was surprised, looking at Timmy Monroe. The boy was gentle and wouldn’t start a fight unless provoked harshly.

Even so, it was hard for Leon to imagine Timmy seriously injuring someone to such an extent.

Not just Leon was surprised; a flash of surprise crossed Timmy’s clear eyes too. Was his brother so skillful? Did he hospitalize Franklin? No wonder he hadn’t seen Franklin at kindergarten recently.

Leon Keane looked at her intently. After so much happened, she didn’t say a single word to him? In her heart, Timmy was only her son, disregarding that he was also Timmy’s father, right?

Leon’s anger welled up. He intended to question her, but her tired face and the scar on her forehead stopped him. His heart ached as the woman had just survived a car accident and now had to endure such an incident in the hospital.

Leon felt a mix of heartache and blame for her. Knowing she was vulnerable, and how hard it is for a woman to raise a child, she ought to lean on him instead of refusing.

The Kane family’s grand stature could shield her and her child from the storm.

"I understand. You should rest well. I’ll take care of the Young family." Leon’s eyes flashed with a sharp cold light. The Young family dared to bully his son? They must’ve tired of living in Ravenswood.

Leon turned, wanting to leave the ward to make a phone call.

Timmy suddenly called him: "Uncle Kane."

Leon stopped and turned to look at Timmy, and the more he looked at Timmy’s swollen face, the angrier he became, the more he wanted to kill.

"Franklin’s grandmother is very bad and despicable. Mommy didn’t want Uncle Kane to know, afraid that Uncle Kane would be plotted against by her in his anger."

The boy’s innocent words amused Leon.

What a joke.

In Ravenswood’s business world, what kind of tactics hasn’t he encountered? Would he be outsmarted by some old guy?

Leon had his accomplishments today and was by no means a simple person. He had his pride and tactics.

However, after hearing the little boy, Leon’s gaze towards Ivana changed. The coldness in his dark eyes dissipated, and he looked at her warmly: "Tell your mommy not to worry. I, Leon Keane, can easily handle an old guy."

Although he said this to Timmy, his eyes never left Ivana, as if speaking directly to her.

Ivana’s face turned bright red. She worried about Franklin’s grandmother having tricks, but it sounded different when Timmy said it. It turned ambiguous, as if she cared a lot about Leon.

But the little boy reiterated: "Mommy, Uncle Kane said..."

The little boy repeated Leon’s words.

Ivana, feeling Leon’s burning gaze, lowered her long lashes and softly whispered like a mosquito: "Mommy knows."

A look of surprise flashed in the boy’s eyes. Mommy blushed. He was ecstatic — Mommy likes Uncle Kane too.

The boy was delighted, cheeks getting hot, tingling slightly, but this little pain was nothing. As long as Mommy’s and Uncle Kane’s relationship warmed up, he was willing to be slapped a few more times.

Moreover, he saw that Uncle Kane cared about Mommy! That’s what he hoped for.

Leon left the ward, not walking far. He stopped in the corridor and made a call: "Derrick Stern, I have a new task for you. Investigate the holdings of The Young Group, and find a way to cause its stock to plummet. Cutting off contracts or creating public outcry over the Young family leadership, do whatever it takes. Understand?"
