Chapter 175: Filing a Complaint

Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Filing a Complaint

Leon’s mother reported the address.

After hearing the address, Leon Keane furrowed his brows deeply. Why did his mother go to Ivana Monroe’s company? Leon had a vague feeling that whatever had happened was related to Ivana Monroe.

Leon asked nothing over the phone, got into the elevator to the parking lot, started the car, and headed to where his mother was.

The road was almost entirely green lights, and Leon arrived in just over ten minutes.

Leon’s mother was being supported by Kiki Jennings, standing downstairs from "GK".

Leon parked the car, opened the driver’s door, and walked over to his mother with long strides, his dark eyes giving Kiki a penetrating glance. He turned to his mother and said, "Mom, are you feeling unwell? Let’s get in the car first, I’ll take you to the hospital right away."

Kiki, expecting and happy when Leon arrived, was scared by his cold and sharp look earlier. She lowered her head, heart pounding in anxiety.

Leon’s mother was feeling unwell all over, most of all in her heart. She had called Leon over not to take her to the hospital but because...

"Leon! Why did you take so long? Your mom is being bullied to death by Ivana Monroe, do you know how fierce and terrifying she is? She was in the office just now, holding a baseball bat, ready to hit Kiki and your mom!"

Leon’s mother was trembling slightly, showing fear in her eyes. Although she was pretending, Ivana’s actions indeed frightened Leon’s mother. When she said these words in front of Leon, she was recalling Ivana’s fierce demeanor in the office.

Kiki cooperatively hugged Leon’s mother from behind, her eyes reddened, saying, "Auntie, don’t be afraid. Leon is here, and he’s your son. He will protect you."

Kiki said these words with a lot of cunning.

Leon is his mother’s son; if Ivana wanted to hit his mother, Leon, as her son, really wanting to protect her, couldn’t possibly stand by and let Ivana, that awful woman, bully his own mother.

With Kiki saying this, Leon’s mother cried sadly, "Leon, if you really care about your mother, go upstairs and teach that terrible Ivana a lesson and completely cut ties with her from now on."

Kiki watched Leon, her heart seemingly stopping for a moment, desperately hoping that he would heed his mother’s words, rush upstairs in fury, and give Ivana a couple of hard slaps.

If Leon were to take this step, his relationship with Ivana would truly end.

Kiki hated Ivana more than any of Leon’s former companions ever. The key reason was that Ivana gave Kiki an unprecedented sense of crisis. Leon had always treated former companions as mere flings, never seriously engaging with any of them, even if some companions’ hands were taken advantage of by other company bosses at banquets, Leon wouldn’t get angry.

Though Kiki hated to admit it, she had to acknowledge that Ivana was special to Leon.

Leon even fought with other men at a party for Ivana, the scene of dominance and violence was etched deeply in Kiki’s mind. She dreamed of Leon, one day, punching another man dominantly for her sake.

There’s a notion that only if you care about someone, love someone, would you act out so impulsively.

Leon frowned, "Mom, let me take you to the hospital first, and I’ll find a time to talk to Ivana."

Hearing this, Kiki suddenly tightened her fingers. Talk to her? Was Leon protecting that wretched Ivana so much that he wouldn’t even listen to his own mother’s words?

Leon’s mother looked at Leon in disbelief, her expression changing instantly. She was sad just moments ago, and now she appeared extremely angry: "Did I hear it wrong? Ivana picked up a baseball bat to attack your mother, and you say you want to talk to her? Leon Keane, is she worth this? Would you only realize it when Ivana comes at your mother with a knife?"

Kiki’s face turned slightly pale, but she was good at pretending to be a good person: "Auntie, please don’t say that, Leon isn’t the kind of person you think. Leon cares for you the most."

Kiki hurriedly said to Leon as well: "Leon, Auntie was upset by Ivana, her heart is racing now, you shouldn’t upset her any further. Just go up and give Ivana a piece of your mind, help Auntie vent her anger."

Kiki feared Leon might suspect her of instigating trouble, holding any grievance against her.

Kiki further explained: "Leon, don’t take it wrong, I’m not targeting Ivana. I’m looking out for Auntie, and also for you. Besides, if Ivana truly cares about you, she will surely understand. In fact, she was at fault today, if she sincerely apologizes to Auntie, it might resolve the matter."

The term "might" implies uncertainty; Leon’s mother detests Ivana extremely; thus, there’s no chance of resolving anger in her perspective.

While acting as if considering both Leon and Ivana, once Leon brought his mother upstairs again, she would add new and old grudges altogether against Ivana. Furthermore, when fueled with anger, the situation might escalate to irreparable levels.

Needless to say, Kiki’s retreating strategy was commendable.

Leon eyed Kiki coldly, seeming to see through her façade, causing Kiki to shiver involuntarily – Leon’s eyes were so chilling!

Leon’s thin lips moved slightly, icily questioning: "Did you bring my mother to Ivana’s company?"

Kiki’s scalp tingled immediately.

Kiki denied swiftly: "No, Leon, I didn’t bring Auntie over here. I just arranged to meet Auntie at a unique Chinese restaurant, and unexpectedly, both Ivana and another man were dining there as well. The way that man gazed at Ivana was full of ambiguity, and he even made some inappropriate comments about Ivana in front of me and Auntie. Auntie got very angry after hearing that, so she..."

The unspoken sentence "came here looking for Ivana" was understood by Leon.

Kiki conveniently skipped mentioning that she went to find Oscar Olsen, making misleading comments to him.

Similar to how she misled Leon, only mentioning the ambiguity and inappropriate words between Oscar and Ivana, leading any ordinary man to misinterpret that something happened between them.

Kiki’s mention caused Leon’s mother to raise her voice, filled with anger: "You still treat Ivana as a treasure; she’s already been fooling around with other questionable men. Today, Kiki and I saw and heard it ourselves."

Leon’s handsome face immediately darkened, his black eyes swirling like a storm. His slender fingers clenched into a fist, his body taut, controlling himself again and again, pressing down the burning anger rapidly rising within him.
