Chapter 217: Chapter 217: You Come Back Right Now
Jean Shaw and Michelle Monroe are now standing outside the old Monroe family mansion. The autumn wind carries a chill of impending winter. They are lightly dressed, trembling slightly all over. The colder she feels, the greater Jean Shaw’s anger grows, ready to unleash it all on Ivana Monroe.
Michelle is wearing a dress inside, with a thin trench coat outside. Her legs are wrapped in black stockings, and the frigid wind whips against them, turning her lips pale and causing her to shiver incessantly.
Michelle’s eyes are filled with hatred. Lately, her father has kept a mistress outside, neglecting to provide for the family, leaving her, the young lady, living in hardship.
She really can’t take it anymore, hoping to get some money from the old man’s inheritance to improve her situation.
Who would have thought Ivana would spring this surprise on her halfway through.
Michelle is so angry that her liver and lungs ache, wishing Ivana would drop dead right where she stands so she could feel better.
"Is everyone here?" Ivana asked.
Jean Shaw was taken aback, resentful in her heart. What does this little bitch think she is? Calling her back once, she has to gather everyone?
"I’ll go back when you have gathered them all."
After a brief silence on the phone, Ivana knew what was going on. She guessed that only Jean Shaw and Michelle were at the grandfather’s old mansion, and no one else had arrived.
"You come back right now," Jean Shaw ordered.
Ivana sneered and hung up the phone directly.
On the other end, Jean Shaw trembled with anger, almost throwing the phone to the ground to stomp it into pieces.
Jean Shaw ultimately didn’t do it; she was tight on money now, and this phone had cost her thousands. She couldn’t afford to buy another one.
"Ivana, that little bitch refuses to come over?" When Michelle saw Jean Shaw’s furious expression, she understood and cursed Ivana thoroughly, then cried miserably, "Mom, what should we do now? You’re out of money, how will we live in the future?"
Michelle suddenly thought of the pricey pair of jade bracelets Jean Shaw owned.
Those jade bracelets were a token from Caleb Monroe when he married Jean Shaw.
At that time, Caleb Monroe’s business was thriving, and he was financially comfortable. Originally, those bracelets were purchased at a high price of 100,000, but now jade prices have soared, worth at least 500,000 on the market.
500,000 would be enough for them to live on for a while.
"Mom, why not sell your treasured jade bracelets? Get through this tough time first, and later when I marry a wealthy man, I’ll get your jade bracelets back."
Jean Shaw glared at Michelle, thinking, your scandal is well-known throughout Ravenswood. Are wealthy men in high society stupid enough to marry you?
"No way, that’s my last asset. Aren’t you a drama major? Go find a film to act in! I’ve raised you to this age, not knowing how to earn money to support the family."
Michelle had poor academic performance, bought her way into university but couldn’t continue studying. So Jean Shaw spent a fortune letting her study performing arts at university; although this university’s performing arts couldn’t compare with film academies, it’s still a skill. Even grassroots actors getting small roles can make it big, and Michelle, having learned, finding a film to act in should not be a problem to support the family.
This pierced Michelle’s heart; it’s not that she hadn’t tried, but the director, seeing her academic background and performance, asked her to play a maid in costume dramas, a malicious maid beside the evil female supporting role, only getting a few scenes, committing bad deeds, dying miserably.
Michelle wanted to lash out at the director then; she’s a performing arts graduate, almost married Zachary Heston to become a high-society lady, her appearance being pure and radiant should have her playing the female protagonist.
"I want to act too! But now, the family doesn’t have money. I’m a newbie; without money to network a bit, how can I possibly get a good role?" Michelle pouted, blaming the lack of money.
Jean Shaw was worried and then said, "Alright, alright, I’ll call the others first, gather them here, make Ivana spit out all the money she swallowed."
Regardless of whether the old man’s money had been donated to charity or not, Ivana must spit it out. Doesn’t Ivana have the company left behind by her deceased mother? Selling the company could also compensate for their losses.
Jean Shaw made several calls, and as expected, the others were shocked when they learned the old man had donated all the money.
Jean Shaw arranged for them to gather in the afternoon, immediately called Ivana again, proudly saying, "I’ve already called them, at one in the afternoon, you must come back."
Ivana responded by saying, "I said everyone, including husbands and children."
Jean Shaw frowned, gripping the phone tightly. This little bitch is really over the top, calling Caleb Monroe over, could she get a share of the money?
Jean Shaw planned to deceive Ivana: "Got it, I’ve already made it clear to them, just don’t forget to come back, if this matter isn’t resolved, I’ll have everyone go to your company tomorrow, and smash everything there."
Jean Shaw put down the harsh words.
A beeping tone signaling disconnection came from the other side of the phone.
Jean Shaw’s eyes burned green with rage: "Damn little bitch."

"Honey, I’m free this afternoon; I’ll accompany you back," Leon Keane said eagerly.
"Okay." Ivana agreed almost without hesitation.
Leon Keane was surprised; he thought Ivana would refuse and was pondering how to convince her to let him accompany her.
Jean Shaw was an extremely malicious stepmother, plus a sister skilled in pretending to be an innocent flower, and some other relatives who are obsessed with money; Leon Keane was afraid Ivana would suffer if she went alone.
Ivana is his wife now, and he couldn’t let his wife suffer.
One o’clock in the afternoon.
Ivana drove Leon Keane to the Monroe family old mansion.
To Ivana’s surprise, more than a dozen people were all standing outside the mansion’s gate; several gentlemen dressed warmly, but nothing seemed wrong with them? A few ladies were shivering in the cold wind.
Especially Jean Shaw and Michelle Monroe, their lips were almost purple from the cold.
Ivana stopped the car, smiled with red lips, her grandfather had done a wonderful job, keeping this group of people out.
Everyone’s attention was drawn to the bright red Bugatti Veyron, their eyes went wide.
Kimberly Monroe and Sylvia Monroe instantly lost their composure.
Kimberly: "Isn’t this the rich relative of the old man?"
Sylvia exclaimed excitedly, "This time I can finally see them in person."
Jean Shaw and Michelle Monroe stood aghast, never having seen such a luxurious vehicle.
Michelle recognized the famous car and shouted in shock, "A limited edition Bugatti Veyron, costing at least several tens of millions!"
Once more, everyone’s heart shook heavily, several tens of millions, this car was really expensive enough to buy several of the old man’s mansions.
Ivana emerged from the driver’s seat.
Seeing her, everyone’s expressions turned extremely peculiar, with Jean Shaw being the most excited.
