Chapter 4 The Athletic Girl Lin Yueru

"Ah!" The athletic woman hadn't expected this. She had thought any spirit medicine could cure illnesses. She glanced at Zhang Fan, suspecting he might be lying.

She looked closely into Zhang Fan's eyes, finding no trace of impurity or ill intent. As the saying goes, eyes are the windows to the soul, and Zhang Fan's eyes were currently the clearest, most transparent windows. Could what he said be true?

"Then what should we do? Is my father's injury truly beyond hope? Even going to the hospital won't help." The athletic woman began to panic, looking to Zhang Fan for help.

Zhang Fan smiled slightly and said, "If you give me this Wood Ganoderma, I will treat your father's internal injuries. How about it?"

Upon hearing this, the athletic woman remained somewhat wary. "Weren't you just saying that to trick me out of this Wood Ganoderma?"

"How about this: After I treat your father and his injuries heal, you can give me the Wood Ganoderma. This way, you can be at ease, right?" Zhang Fan proposed.

The athletic woman pondered and felt this suggestion was excellent. Regardless, she wouldn't lose anything. With a hopeful heart, she agreed.

...

"What's your name? You look like a high school student?" the athletic woman asked.

"My name is Zhang Fan. I am indeed a high school student, studying at Donghai No. 7 Middle School. I'll be entering my third year next semester," Zhang Fan replied.

"A high school student indeed!" The athletic woman sounded surprised. Then she added, "My name is Lin Yueru. I'm older than you, you can call me Sister Yueru."

Thus, they had a basic acquaintance.

"What are you doing here in Kunlong Mountain? Are you also looking for spirit medicine?" Lin Yueru had witnessed Zhang Fan's skills earlier and knew he was a martial artist.

"No, I'm traveling with my girlfriend," Zhang Fan said.

"Dating in high school, how precocious," Lin Yueru murmured. "But why are you alone? Where is your girlfriend?"

"Her? We broke up," Zhang Fan said.

"What a sad story."

"I'm going to win her back."

"Go for it, your sister supports you..."

They walked and chatted, soon arriving at the foot of the mountain.

...

"Let's go to the parking lot first, I drove here," Lin Yueru said after descending the mountain.

"Not yet, I have something I need to handle." Zhang Fan spotted a familiar, burly figure in the distance, feeling a surge of excitement. For a battle-lover like him, a few days without a fight, no, without beating someone up, his hands would start to itch.

After all, one-sided slaughter didn't count as fighting; it was merely beating someone up without any interaction.

"Kid, I didn't expect you to actually dare to come down. How brave!" Ah Biao looked at Zhang Fan, his voice low.

He seemed genuinely impressed by Zhang Fan's courage, or perhaps he overestimated his own intimidating presence.

"Where is your master?" Not seeing Li Songlan and Qin Luoshui around, Zhang Fan asked.

"Hmph, how could Madam wait for you here at the foot of the mountain for seven days? Madam has already returned to Yanjing with the young lady," Ah Biao said. "However, before Madam left, she ordered me to wait for you here. If you can't make me crawl back, are you prepared to crawl back yourself?"

As Ah Biao finished speaking, he took a step forward. His massive foot stomped on the ground like a boulder, causing it to tremble slightly, drawing the attention of many passing tourists.

"Someone's fighting, come and watch!"

"That burly man is so strong, is he going to fight that teenager? Isn't that bullying?"

"Yeah, it's too much! Call the police!"

"Call the police..."

"And maybe call an ambulance too..."

The kind-hearted onlookers began to make emergency calls, and some thoughtful tourists even prepared to summon an ambulance. Yet, no one stepped forward to break up the fight, as Ah Biao's aura was truly intimidating. Ordinary people dared not meet his gaze.

"Heh heh, I originally wanted to beat you soundly in front of your master, to let her know that a rookie like you isn't even worth my attention. It seems there's no chance today."

"But you should be grateful. I originally intended for your master to drag you back. Now that no one is here to control you, your legs are safe. After all, it would be too cruel to truly make you crawl back," Zhang Fan remarked.

"Presumptuous, kid!" Ah Biao advanced towards Zhang Fan, his eyes fierce and his aura pressing.

"Zhang Fan, his strength is incredible! How did you provoke such a terrifying opponent?" Lin Yueru's expression changed as she felt the strong energy emanating from Ah Biao. Although she had trained with her father, she was far inferior to this burly man. Perhaps this strong man's strength was close to her father's.

Zhang Fan waved his hand, giving her a reassuring look.

For some reason, Lin Yueru, who had been somewhat nervous, calmed down instantly upon meeting Zhang Fan's gentle gaze.

"Don't worry, he's not that strong." As Zhang Fan finished speaking, his figure flickered, and he charged directly at Ah Biao.

Without any further words, they both threw a punch as soon as they met.

"Boom!" A low thud sounded. Zhang Fan stood his ground, calm and collected, while the burly Ah Biao was pushed back two steps by the impact.

"Good kid, I was afraid I'd hit you too hard and kill you instantly, so I only used thirty percent of my strength. I didn't expect to still be at a disadvantage," Ah Biao said, looking at Zhang Fan.

"What a coincidence, I thought the same. But I only used half of my strength," Zhang Fan replied with a smile.

"In that case, I'll use fifty percent of my strength for this next punch." Ah Biao felt Zhang Fan was bragging, believing he must have used his full strength just now and was saying that to save face. He didn't believe the teenager could push him back with only half his strength.

Fifty percent of his strength would be enough to teach him a profound lesson.

"Alright, then I'll use fifty percent of my strength too." Zhang Fan had indeed only used half his strength earlier. He was also afraid of using too much force and killing Ah Biao with a single punch, which would be troublesome, as Qin Luoshui still needed his protection.

"You're seeking death!" Ah Biao roared and threw another punch.

"Crack." Two fists collided, and a crisp bone-snapping sound echoed, causing the surrounding onlookers to stir with excitement.

Breaking someone's arm with a single punch, this burly man was truly ferocious.

They looked at Zhang Fan's somewhat slender build in comparison to the burly man, feeling a bit of pity. They hoped the police would arrive quickly, otherwise, the situation could escalate and lead to a fatality.

However, in the next second, they felt something was amiss. The teenager's face remained calm, while the burly man's face showed signs of pain. Looking at his hanging arm, it was bent at a deformed angle.

Seeing this, they were astonished to realize that it was the burly man whose arm had been broken.

"It seems your fifty percent strength isn't enough. You can't take a hit, not even enough to warm me up." Zhang Fan looked at Ah Biao, who was in pain and sweating, and said with some dissatisfaction, "This time, for Luoshui's sake, I'll cripple one of your arms. Get lost."
