Chapter 90 Ouyang Yuan

His demeanor was arrogant as he stared impatiently at Bai Ran.

Upon hearing him, Bai Ran ignored him and stroked the smooth scales of the poisonous dragon.

Her actions instantly angered Ouyang Yuan. He stood up abruptly, glaring at Bai Ran.

"Hey! I'm talking to you! Get out, do you hear me!"

The instructor's personality was inherently meek, and with the rarity of light-attribute disciples – only two in the entire sect – she didn't dare to say much.

Seeing the tense atmosphere between the two, the instructor waved her hands in panic, "Student Ouyang, she, she's new. You, you shouldn't be like this..."

"New? Which family are you from?" Ouyang Yuan looked at Bai Ran dismissively. Her? Could any stray cat or dog possess the light attribute now?

Ouyang Yuan was born into the Ouyang family, one of the three great families of the Middle Realm, and was the legitimate son of the family. He had been extremely well-protected since childhood, and his family indulged his every whim.

Ever since he awakened the light attribute, he had been doted on even more.

This led to his increasingly overbearing and arrogant personality, earning him the moniker "Little Tyrant" throughout the Middle Realm.

Seeing that Bai Ran had once again ignored his words, his pride was wounded, and his anger flared instantly.

"Do you know who I am! How dare you ignore me!" he roared at Bai Ran.

She slowly turned around, looking at Ouyang Yuan coldly. "Just a spoiled brat who runs home to his mother whenever he's wronged."

"You!" Ouyang Yuan's face turned red with anger. No one had dared to speak to him like this since he was young!

Fine! Very fine!

The tense atmosphere made the instructor flustered, unsure of what to do.

"Student Bai, Student Ouyang, please get along, don't fight..." The instructor's voice grew softer and softer, until it was no more than a mosquito's hum.

"Either she gets out of Que Tian Sect! Otherwise, I will never set foot in this wretched sect again!" Ouyang Yuan glared at Bai Ran and stormed out, slamming the door.

Bai Ran raised an eyebrow as she watched his retreating back.

"What, what do we do now!" The instructor lowered her head, anxiously scratching her head.

These few light-attribute cultivators had actually fallen out.

Losing either disciple would be a tremendous loss for the sect!

"Instructor, please continue your lecture. I will report to the Sect Master after class," Bai Ran smiled at the instructor, reassuring her.

It seemed there was no other way...

The instructor sighed and resumed her lecture.

Unexpectedly, the instructor, who appeared incredibly meek, transformed into someone entirely different when she began teaching, exuding confidence and intelligence.

She analyzed cases eloquently on the stage, and Bai Ran found herself unconsciously engrossed.

Bai Ran took a deep breath, sensing the light elements in the air, and then gradually guided them into her body.

"Epiphany!" The instructor exclaimed, looking at the absorbed Bai Ran. A faint layer of golden light shimmered around her, sacred and noble.

She never expected this new disciple to have such terrifying aptitude, entering a state of epiphany during her very first class.

This was a wondrous state that even many senior students couldn't achieve!

The instructor's eyes lit up as time ticked by. The light around Bai Ran gradually dissipated.

It was replaced by spiritual energy that filled her surroundings.

She was about to advance!

With a surge of spiritual energy, Bai Ran successfully ascended to the second stage of the Nascent Soul realm.

Her eyes slowly opened, a flash of golden light disappearing within them.

"Nascent Soul stage, second level."

Bai Ran clenched her fist tightly. Although her spiritual energy was abundant, it felt somewhat ephemeral.

It seemed that after reaching the Nascent Soul stage, she would need to rely on actual combat to solidify her strength.

"Student Bai!" The instructor eagerly leaned in, her breath almost palpable. "You truly are a genius!"

Bai Ran awkwardly turned her head. "Thank you for the compliment."

She had gained a great deal from this single class.

When the class ended, she headed straight to the Sect Master's chambers.

In the Sect Master's chambers, Bai Ran sat nonchalantly opposite Sect Master Xiong.

Sect Master Xiong, on the other hand, had a face as dark as the bottom of a pot. He covered his face with his hands, remaining silent.

"You're saying..."

"Not only did you infuriate Ouyang Yuan..."

"You've also provoked the Zi Yun Sect?"

Bai Ran nodded. Upon hearing her confirmation, Sect Master Xiong nearly fainted.

He had never imagined that this young girl, who had only joined the sect a few days ago, could truly stir up such a storm.

"People from Zi Yun Sect entered my courtyard and attempted to seize the Vermilion Bird," Bai Ran stated calmly.

Hearing this, Sect Master Xiong's expression turned grim.

"Entered your courtyard?"

Among the rules established between the sects, one stipulated that individuals from different sects were not to enter other sects' territories without permission. Doing so intentionally signified a challenge.

And they had targeted the young girl's contracted beast...

"Do you know who entered your courtyard?" Sect Master Xiong asked sternly.

"I have a general idea," Bai Ran replied.

Sect Master Xiong stood up, his brows furrowed. "You will remain in your courtyard for the next two days."

The Sect Master of Zi Yun Sect was rumored to be bloodthirsty and ruthless, killing without blinking an eye. Anyone he targeted would mysteriously die the next day, their deaths gruesome.

No one had ever seen him, yet everyone feared him. All they knew was that he always wore a white mask.

If he himself had targeted this young girl... it would be truly perilous...

"That Ouyang Yuan..." Before Bai Ran could finish, Sect Master Xiong interrupted.

"Ouyang what Ouyang! Who has time for him now?"

Meanwhile, Ouyang Yuan was dejectedly lying on his bed in his chambers, his head buried under the covers.

A group of people surrounded him, looking at him anxiously.

"Yuan'er, what's wrong? Tell Mother! Mother will get justice for you!"

Ouyang Qin, Ouyang Yuan's mother, coaxed him softly.

"Yes, tell us what grievance you've suffered! Your family will always be on your side."

The family head, Ouyang Ningquan, sat by the bedside, speaking patiently.

"It's nothing..."

Ouyang Yuan pouted, feeling frustrated. However, he was too embarrassed to admit that he had been ignored by someone, his pride wounded, and had stormed home in a fit of anger.

"Useless trash," a sturdy man standing in the distance scoffed at Ouyang Yuan.

For a man to be this pathetic, he felt ashamed to even call him an Ouyang family member!

"Yu'er! How can you speak to your brother like that! Apologize to him quickly!" Ouyang Qin shouted at him.

"I will never apologize to a waste!"

Ouyang Yu glared at Ouyang Yuan and turned to leave, paying no heed to the people behind him.

"Ouyang Yu!" Ouyang Ningquan's face turned pale with anger, and he clutched the edge of the bed.

"Father!" Ouyang Yuan darted out from under the covers, supporting him.

"Husband! How are you? Are you alright?" Ouyang Qin patted his back with concern and offered him a pill.

After swallowing the pill, he finally felt a little better.
