Chapter 27 The Joys of a Simp

The doorbell rang, and an anxious voice followed.

Su Ruiyi opened the door, and Wang Ziran rushed in, carrying several shopping bags.

"Yiyi, how are you? Didn't the driver take you home? Why are you at the hotel again?"

Su Ruiyi drooped her head. "Where are the clothes?"

Wang Ziran dumped the contents of the shopping bags onto the bed. Countless expensive clothes with tags scattered across the sheets. Su Ruiyi picked out a set of underwear, a seahorse hair sweater, and a pair of jeans, hugged them to her chest, and went into the bathroom.

Wang Ziran stuffed the remaining clothes back into the shopping bags.

"What about shoes?"

Wang Ziran slapped his forehead. Dammit, he'd forgotten to buy them...

"Wait for me, I'll go buy them now."

Su Ruiyi pulled Wang Ziran back. "Forget it, I'll just wear the hotel slippers."

Just then, the doorbell rang again. Wang Ziran opened the door, and a hotel staff member pushed in a meal cart.

Both Wang Ziran and Su Ruiyi were a bit puzzled. The staff member spoke first. "Hello, this is the dinner ordered by the gentleman who checked you in. Where would you like it placed?"

"Push it further in."

"Okay. This was specially ordered by that gentleman for you, a bowl of brown sugar ginger tea."

"Where is that gentleman?"

"He left the hotel a while ago."

Wang Ziran saw the staff member out and then rushed back to the bed. He lifted the bedsheet, saw no trace on the bed, and then ran to the bathroom. He slammed the bathroom door open. Upon seeing the mess inside, he felt his strength drain away. When he emerged from the bathroom, his eyes were red.

Wang Ziran choked out, "Who was that man? Do I know him?"

Su Ruiyi glared at this drama queen. "No."

"So you got drunk and found a random man at the hotel?"

"It's okay, as long as it makes you happy, I can pretend not to know..."

Su Ruiyi punched Wang Ziran. The punch landed, and Wang Ziran didn't dodge, instead throwing himself against the wall. It looked like Wang Ziran was genuinely upset.

Su Ruiyi: "It's not what you think!"

Wang Ziran looked up, his teary eyes irritating Su Ruiyi. Because of this overbearing stalker friend, she hadn't found a boyfriend in so many years. Anyone who dared to hit on her was either mocked into leaving by Wang Ziran's sarcastic remarks or scared away.

Su Ruiyi: "I just didn't want to go home, so I hid in the hotel. I vomited on someone's clothes, and that person got angry and threw me in the bathtub, alright?"

Wang Ziran instantly became all smiles. "Oh, I wasn't thinking wildly. I was just worried you were being bullied by a bad guy."

Su Ruiyi pointed at her hair. "Look at my new hair color. Any thoughts?"

Wang Ziran nodded appreciatively. "I like it."

Su Ruiyi looked in the mirror. "Exactly! I think my new hair color looks great too. Green is trendy this year, so I dyed it."

Wang Ziran: "But I still prefer you with your original hair color."

Su Ruiyi asked in surprise, "Why?"

Wang Ziran thought for a moment. "It gives me the feeling of wanting to take you home and introduce you to my parents."

Su Ruiyi glared at her unreliable friend. "My parents already know me, what's there to introduce? How boring!"

Wang Ziran quickly explained, "No, I mean, what does it feel like when you say 'original hair color'?! Not introducing my parents!"

Su Ruiyi paused. She stood in front of the mirror, touched her grass-green hair, and glanced sideways at Wang Ziran, who always had a smitten look.

"Let's go, I'm getting my hair dyed!"

"Huh? Dye it again?"

"One last time!"
