Chapter 284 The Eight Treasures Jewelry
Suddenly hearing footsteps from the cave entrance, Min Hang opened his eyes and looked at the group entering.
"I want to see Zi Yisheng."
Min Hang said, taking a jade token from his neck and handing it to Wei Jiu. He glanced at Han Yuyan, who was still asleep, and sighed helplessly again.
This was truly the last time he could help him, and he was truly incapable of helping any further.
Wei Jiu waved his hand, and the person behind him stepped forward and roughly lifted the sleeping Han Yuyan.
"Don't kill him for now. You can wait until Young Master Zi sees the jade token and hear his decision."
Wei Jiu hesitated for a moment, then nodded to his brothers. His mission was complete once he found Han Yuyan, and the rest could be decided after meeting Young Master Zi.
Min Hang picked up the medicine box beside him and followed them out. He likely wouldn't have any freedom after this.
The next day, Ye Shengsong woke up to the sound of voices in the courtyard. The voices sounded familiar, and she curled up into a cocoon on the bed, not wanting to get up.
Zi Yisheng gently knocked twice on the door, and the door was easily pushed open again.
Ye Shengsong rolled her eyes. This was why he never let her lock the door, making it convenient for certain people to come and go as they pleased.
Zi Yisheng walked to the bedside in a few steps, looking at the little girl still lazing in bed with doting eyes.
"Aren't you going to get up? Auntie prepared shrimp dumplings for you this morning."
As expected, Ye Shengsong's clear eyes opened, and she rolled out of the blanket the way she had rolled in.
Zi Yisheng saw the thin long pajamas on her legs and felt a hint of disappointment. He couldn't see those long, fair, and slender legs anymore.
Zi Yisheng reached out and pulled Ye Shengsong into his arms, running his fingers through her dark, shiny hair. After smoothing it all out, he spoke.
"Young Master Shang sent a gift, saying he wants you to see it yourself and tell him if you like it."
Ye Shengsong comfortably closed her eyes and then opened them again.
"A thank you gift? Then let's go see it."
Zi Yisheng put on Ye Shengsong's shoes for her, then placed her back on the bed. He kissed her exquisite face before standing up and leaving.
"Get dressed quickly and come out for breakfast."
Ming Hui had already toured Bai Rong's compound and looked enviously at the row of courtyards belonging to the Bai and Ye families. These people never treated themselves poorly, and even their houses were built better than those of ordinary people.
When Ming Hui returned to the Ye family's courtyard, he saw Young Master Zi gently serving Miss Ye at the table. The way he held the bowl was like coaxing a baby to eat.
Then he looked at Ye Shao, who was also sitting at the dining table. Although he didn't personally feed her, he watched her constantly, like a supervisor, afraid that someone wasn't doing their job properly.
Ming Hui redefined the status of Miss Ye in the hearts of these young masters. It turned out that Miss Ye was the true matriarch. It seemed that as long as they pleased this little ancestor, Young Master Shang would have a good life.
Ming Hui didn't stand on ceremony and pulled up a chair to sit at the dining table. Looking at the several small dishes of dim sum for breakfast, he was full of envy. Everyone else was struggling to get enough to eat, yet they could still prepare such exquisite breakfasts. This was not just ordinary wealth and capability.
Ming Hui, unable to help himself, swallowed a mouthful of saliva, and his stomach grumbled. His face immediately turned red. He was so pathetic, losing all face for Young Master Shang.
Ye Shengsong was trying her best to suppress her laughter. Laughing at someone to their face was very impolite, but seeing Ming Hui covering his stomach and sneakily looking at the food on the table, his pitiable state made her unable to hold back. She turned her head and laughed silently.
Ye Mu'en saw his sister's reaction and gently tapped her forehead.
"Eat quickly, it'll be lunchtime again soon."
Ye Shengsong composed her expression and turned to look at Ming Hui.
"Comrade Ming Hui, please have some breakfast too. You must not have had time to eat after rushing here from the city so early."
Ming Hui glanced at the two young masters. Seeing that they didn't object, he shamelessly dragged his chair to the table.
"Miss Ye is truly so considerate. I've been hungry all morning and can't bear it any longer. Heh heh, please excuse me, please excuse me, I'm a bit embarrassed."
"Pfft."
Ye Shengsong looked at Ming Hui's comical expression and burst into laughter. Zi Yisheng glared at Ming Hui irritably. Was this person stupid? Didn't he see his little girl was eating? Why was he here trying to be funny?
Ye Mu'en also suppressed a smile and took out a napkin to wipe his sister's mouth.
"Go to the kitchen and get your own bowls and chopsticks."
If Ming Hui continued to act like this, his sister wouldn't be able to eat.
Ming Hui darted out and quickly ran into the kitchen. The people who came with Ming Hui could only swallow their saliva in secret, all mentally complaining about Ming Hui the secretary being disloyal, why didn't he think of them who were also hungry?
Ye Shengsong dodged the chopsticks that Zi Yisheng was reaching for again. She swallowed the food in her mouth before speaking.
"I'm full."
Zi Yisheng glanced at the food on the table, then simply put the chopsticks he was holding into his own mouth. He stood up, washed his hands, and took a comb from the room. He slowly began to comb the little girl's hair.
Ming Hui, whose mouth was already full of food, opened even wider. Good heavens, was this the Young Master Zi he remembered? Not only did he feed her, but he even combed her hair. Was he raising a fiancée? He looked more like he was raising a daughter.
Zi Yisheng glanced sideways at Ming Hui, his look of disdain undisguised. Fortunately, this wasn't his subordinate; he looked too stupid.
"Close your mouth and eat quickly."
Ming Hui quickly lowered his head and sped up his eating, not daring to look. Young Master Zi was still as terrifying.
Ming Hui quickly devoured all the food on the table. It was too delicious. He looked up and saw everyone staring at him, feeling immense pressure.
"Ahem, quickly bring Young Master Shang's gift over."
The two people who had been standing in the courtyard swallowing their saliva quickly stepped forward. Ming Hui also had the good sense to clear the bowls from the table.
"Miss Ye, this is the gift from Young Master Shang. Young Master Shang said this is not a thank you gift for saving his life, nor is it a thank you gift for treating his illness and detoxifying him. It is simply a token of appreciation for meeting Miss Ye."
Ye Shengsong raised her eyebrows. So many roundabout ways, and still so many names for a thank you gift.
Ye Shengsong looked at the eight wooden boxes on the table. She could tell from the faint fragrance emanating from the boxes that the wood was of very good quality.
She reached out and opened one box. What met her eyes was a complete set of jadeite jewelry carved into magnolia flowers. In the sunlight, it looked even more translucent and lustrous. The carving was superb, truly a perfect set of jewelry.
She opened the second box. It was a light blue rose jadeite jewelry set. Leaving aside the carving, just the color of the jadeite made it a rare treasure.
The third box was a red peony jadeite jewelry set. He was really going all out with jadeite.
The fourth box, the fifth box, the eighth box, all were jadeite jewelry sets made with flowers. More importantly, no two sets had the same color.
Zi Yisheng's eyebrows, usually indifferent, were raised. He looked at the happy expression on the little girl's face and narrowed his eyes. He was indeed good at pleasing girls, but he had chosen the wrong person to please.
