Chapter 414 A Warning to Sheng Ruyi

Sheng Ruyi stayed in the Xie family's guest room, not at the guesthouse. After Lin Wanwan settled her in, she returned to her own room. Xie Sui was reading the newspaper and hadn't slept yet.

The two children's cribs were placed to the side. They would be taking care of the babies at night.

Eldest sister Xie Lan had initially objected. Xie Sui had been busy all day and should be resting well at night; why was he still taking care of the children?

Xie Sui insisted, saying that spending more time with the children was his responsibility as a father. He couldn't miss the childhood of the younger two, just as he had missed the early years of Dou Dou and Ding Ding.

He left early in the morning and didn't eat lunch at home. By the time he returned at night, the children were already asleep before he could even look at them. He could only spend time with them in the evenings. Could Xie Sui afford to miss that?

The two children weren't very fussy. They would drink a bottle of milk and have their diapers changed once at night, then fall asleep quickly. They were very well-behaved babies, so Xie Lan stopped insisting.

She was acting like an elder sister, worrying like a mother.

If they encountered a difficult mother-in-law who made her son and daughter-in-law sleep separately and left the children entirely to the daughter-in-law, while the son only needed to work quietly, she would be mistaken in thinking she was making things easier for her son. In reality, she was harming him.

A wife was the center of harmony in a family. If the wife couldn't rest well and stayed up late taking care of the children, her mood would be bad. Could the family be happy?

Getting sidetracked, Xie Sui put down the newspaper and lifted the quilt, saying, "You're finally back? I thought you had forgotten your husband for your best friend. Why didn't you sleep with her?"

"Do you think I wouldn't dare? Should I go over there then?"

"Come back, you. I haven't held you all day, and you're still angry with me?"

"Don't mess around. We have a guest at home; it would be embarrassing if she overheard."

"Then let her stay at the guesthouse tomorrow. This is our home; having an outsider makes it so inconvenient."

"How could I possibly ask that? The guesthouse isn't safe either. How could Ruyi, a young girl, stay in a place like that?"

"Du Feiyang is also there, so how is it unsafe?"

"That makes it even worse. Du Feiyang is the most dangerous one."

Xie Sui: "..."

That Du Feiyang fellow deserved a beating. What a terrible reputation.

Xie Sui didn't insist on her anymore. He held her and they talked for a while. Lin Wanwan fell asleep as she listened. Xie Sui felt a pang of annoyance and kissed her fiercely. "You troublesome little enchantress, I'm no match for you. It's only your husband who protects you."

A happy woman was carefree, like a naive fool, because she didn't need to worry about the storms outside. This was all a result of Xie Sui spoiling her; he had to bear the consequences himself.

Xie Sui woke up early the next morning. He carried the babies out to change their diapers. The two boys woke up together, making things a bit chaotic.

"Let me help you, President Xie."

Sheng Ruyi came out of her room and quickly stepped forward to help. Her hair was loose, giving her a more gentle aura. Her pajamas were loose, vaguely revealing the curves underneath.

Not only that, but she was wearing makeup, a very light makeup. Xie Sui smiled meaningfully. If she hadn't been deliberately waiting for him, why would she be wearing makeup so early in the morning?

"No need. The stinky boys are pooping. Don't dirty Miss Sheng's hands and ruin your meticulously applied makeup."

Sheng Ruyi was embarrassed. "What are you talking about, President Xie? I haven't put on makeup."

"Stop playing these little games with me, Miss Sheng. My dragon scale is my family. You shouldn't have come. Wouldn't it be better to just make money and be a female CEO?" Su Dan Novel Network

Sheng Ruyi's eyes were complex. He knew everything.

"President Xie, since you say so, then I'll speak my mind. My education is high, and I can help you better.

Your business will grow larger and larger in the future. I don't want to just manage a cosmetics factory. I can stay by your side, and we can create a larger business empire together."

Xie Sui was amused to the point of laughter. "Your ambition is truly significant. Not satisfied with a small factory, you want to get your hands on my group?"

"No, I mean I want to help you."

"I don't need it. Do you think you're that capable? There are plenty of people with higher education who would work for me as long as the salary is sufficient. Put away your unnecessary ideas and don't force me to turn hostile."

Sheng Ruyi was unwilling. "But those people won't serve you as devotedly as I will. Believe me, I will treat you better than anyone else."

Xie Sui's expression darkened. This woman was too self-conceited.

"If my subordinates betray me, it's definitely because I haven't given them enough. I, Xie Sui, never rely on women. You're underestimating me.

Please leave my home today. Don't force me to turn hostile."

Sheng Ruyi's face turned pale. He wasn't moved at all?

"Ahem, Xiao Sui, have you brought out the baby's diapers? Eldest Sister will go wash them."

"Coming, they're right here. Eldest Sister, you've worked hard. How is my brother-in-law doing lately? Where is my eldest nephew?"

"Your brother-in-law is a workshop director at the factory; he's quite content. He earns over a hundred yuan a month, and the villagers are so envious.

The child is studying at the county primary school, in the fourth grade this year. His studies aren't too good, though. Wanwan tutors him every day. This child is very attached to his aunt, saying she's beautiful and educated, even more so than his own mother."

Eldest Sister said this with a hint of sourness, feeling jealous of her sister-in-law.

Xie Sui smiled. "Wanwan's cooking isn't as good as Eldest Sister's. In the future, your two nephews will be filial to you. If the stinky boys misbehave, we won't pay them any mind."

Eldest Sister smiled. "My two nephews were raised by me. I watched you both grow up. They'll definitely be close to their paternal aunt."

Xie Lan held the babies, doting on them as if they were her own sons.

Xie Sui went to cook. The millet porridge was cooked to a golden hue. He fried some egg pancakes and prepared pickled cucumber, along with salted duck eggs. The simple breakfast was full of homey flavor.

Xie Lan took the babies for a walk and bought steamed buns on her way back. With so many people at home, frying pancakes took too much time.

Dou Dou and Ding Ding woke up, washed up, and prepared for school, rushing as if in a battle.

Lin Wanwan got up last, yawning lazily. There was nothing for her to do.

"Good morning, Mom. We're going to school."

"Be careful on the way. Take these eggs to eat if you get hungry."

She packed a boiled egg for each of them. They had lacked such things in their childhood. The two children were foodies. They couldn't eat boiled eggs before, but now they ate them every day and never got tired of them.

After sending the children off, she saw Sheng Ruyi. Lin Wanwan said apologetically, "Ruyi, I apologize for not attending to you properly. There are so many children at home, it gets a bit chaotic.

Please eat, don't be polite."

Xie Sui came over with a basin of water. "Wash your face, brush your teeth. I'm going to the factory. You don't need to wait for me for lunch. Take Ruyi to the city to explore. There isn't much to do in this small county town. You should accompany her.

If she wants to leave, have the factory help buy train tickets, sleeper berths. The factory can arrange it."

"Alright, you go busy yourself. I'll entertain my friend; you don't need to worry."

"Then I'm leaving. Miss Sheng, enjoy your time."

Xie Sui acted as if nothing had happened. Sheng Ruyi felt bitter inside and forced a smile. "President Xie, please be busy. I apologize for disturbing you."

Xie Sui smiled faintly. "Since you know you're disturbing us, why haven't you left yet?"
