Chapter 186: Preparing the reward
Lina’s face turned red as a pepper, and her heart sped up so much it felt like it was going to explode.
"Don’t you want to get your reward?" she finally asked in an extremely shy tone.
Davi looked at the girl, his dark eyes shining with a mixture of desire and amusement. Her shyness only tempted him more. Without saying a word, he abruptly pulled her close, making her let out a slight gasp of surprise.
His hand slid down her waist, holding her possessively, while the other tangled in her hair, pulling lightly to expose her neck.
"It’s true, I deserve to get my reward, right...?" he murmured in a hoarse voice, before leaning in and capturing her lips in a deep and devouring kiss.
Lina arched against him, forgetting for a moment that they were in the middle of the stands, with dozens of eyes all around.
Davi’s tongue invaded her mouth with an intensity that made her tremble, his hands sliding down, grabbing her buttocks firmly, pulling her even closer against his body.
Lina moaned softly, her fingers curling into his shirt, feeling the heat of Davi’s muscular body burning through the fabric. He broke the kiss for a second, just to bite her lower lip and whisper:
"Can I continue?"
Before she could answer, he kissed her again, this time more wildly, one of his hands going up under her loose clothes, finding the soft curve of her breast.
Lina almost screamed when his fingers found her already hardened nipple, rubbing it firmly. It was at that moment that a sharp voice echoed through the place.
"Davi."
The tone was cold, authoritative, and impossible to ignore.
Davi slowly let go of Lina, turning to find Alexia standing a few steps away, her eyes as sharp as blades fixed on him. Her face was expressionless, but there was something dangerous in the way she held her sword so firmly.
Lina, still panting and with her face as red as a tomato, quickly stepped back, adjusting her disheveled clothes. Her heart raced, and panic seized her.
Had she done something wrong? Maybe this was one of Davi’s girlfriends, and she was angry with her. Would she end up being killed that day? Lina’s mind spiraled, imagining terrible, devastating possibilities.
Davi, on the other hand, simply smiled faintly before delivering a karate chop to the top of the pink-haired girl’s head.
"Ouch! That hurt."
"Don’t lie, there’s no way that hurts," Davi replied.
When he didn’t have <Love the king> activated, his stats were pathetic, so none of his strikes could actually harm Alexia.
"And don’t tease Lina, she’s shy," he scolded.
The reason behind the woman’s so-called "annoyed" expression was simple—she just enjoyed messing around. Even though Lina hadn’t yet met the rest of the harem, the harem already knew about her.
"Sorry, sorry," Alexia said with a playful smile. "But you can’t deny that her reactions are ridiculously cute."
She turned toward the girl, who was so lost in thought she wasn’t even listening anymore. Lina’s gaze wandered aimlessly as she hunched her shoulders, curling up like a pill bug seeking protection.
"Alright, alright, calm down, I was just joking," Alexia said as she approached, softening her tone. Then she hugged Lina and kept talking to her for a few moments.
Meanwhile, Davi felt a little embarrassed by all the attention he was drawing, but he sighed and chose to ignore it. He didn’t need to waste much thought on what others thought of him.
Finally, when Davi turned his attention to Alexia, she was already chatting warmly with Lina. In an instant, they had become friends.
Lina usually struggled to talk to anyone, but Alexia was an exception, she had a knack for making everyone feel at ease around her.
It wasn’t by chance that she was the first girl in the harem to connect with Luna and the one who helped all the others bond.
Working with Lina would be a bit trickier due to her extreme shyness, but Alexia was undoubtedly up to the task.
Reflecting on it, Alexia always did an incredible job making Davi’s life easier. Without her, managing the harem would likely be far more chaotic.
"What’s up? Admiring our beauty?" Alexia teased, noticing Davi staring at the two of them.
"No, I was just thinking about how amazing you are," he said, stepping forward and giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "Thank you for always being by my side and helping me."
Alexia grinned foolishly, her heart warmed by the compliment. It meant a lot, especially since she’d spent her life serving a man who never valued her efforts.
"I’m happy to be useful," she said with a genuine smile. "Now come on, I’ve got everything ready." She clapped her hands, beaming.
Davi and Lina exchanged a slightly worried glance.
"Got everything ready?" Davi asked, surprised.
"Well, you said you wouldn’t do anything with Lina before her fight because she was still recovering," Alexia said, turning to Lina. "But from what I can see, she’s fully recovered, so..." Her smile turned mischievous.
Lina blushed intensely, her mind racing at what was about to happen, but she stayed silent.
"Or were you planning to fuck her right here in the middle of the crowd?" Alexia whispered, stepping closer to Davi so no one nearby could hear. She loved teasing her master but knew when to avoid causing a scene.
Most of the crowd’s attention was already shifting to the fight in the arena.
"But first," Alexia added, "you should probably watch the match. After all, it’ll decide your next opponent."
Davi nodded and turned his focus to the arena.
Antum stood in the center, his spear resting lightly on his shoulder, his posture so relaxed he could be mistaken for someone uninterested. His opponent, a burly man with glowing runes on his arms, began raising his hands to use a technique.
But there was no time.
In a single step, Antum closed the distance between them as if he’d teleported. The tip of his spear pierced the man’s abdomen before he could react. The impact was so forceful that his opponent was hurled backward, as if struck by a battering ram.
Antum’s next move was an elegant spin, his spear tracing a perfect arc. With a final thrust, he launched the man out of the arena.
The entire exchange took less than three seconds, leaving the opponent no chance to resist.
"See," Alexia said, "you need to be careful not to get eliminated in an instant."
"But..." she leaned in, whispering in his ear, "let’s deal with more interesting matters." She stepped back, swaying her hips provocatively as she walked. "Follow me."
Davi and Lina followed her to the parking lot, where two cars were waiting.
"Here’s where we split up," Alexia said. "Lina, you’re with me. Davi, you can take the limo." She flashed a wicked grin.
"Why?" both asked in unison.
"Isn’t it obvious?" She leaned toward Davi. "So I can prepare a surprise."
Lina hesitated but ultimately followed Alexia.
