Chapter 664 A Huge Loss

"No, a promise is a promise, and a deal is a deal. In business, integrity is paramount. If I say it, I'll do it!"

Ling Mohan's attitude was resolute, leaving Feng Jin no room for negotiation. He tossed the ring in his hand outward, and it landed steadily on a white porcelain vase.

Feng Jin's back molars ached with suppressed rage. She glared fiercely at Ling Mohan, "Ling Mohan, you got me. I'll remember this. A true gentleman would seek revenge!"

With those harsh words, Feng Jin strode past the man and walked out.

Her chest heaved with anger, Feng Jin's breathing was rapid. She felt she would eventually be angered to death by this fool Ling Mohan, who was always doing such thoughtless things.

It seemed her stall was truly ruined this time. Ling Mohan was something else. If she didn't get revenge for this, she'd write her name backward.

In less time than it takes for a cup of tea to steep, Ling Mohan had thrown all his rings. Almost every item on display was now adorned with a ring.

Ling Mohan, however, appeared completely relaxed. He tossed the last ring in his hand, which landed perfectly on a large peony carving made of jade.

Feng Jin watched the scene unfold, feeling as though her heart was breaking. The corners of her mouth twitched, and she shot a chilling gaze at the culprit, wondering if Ling Mohan felt a sense of triumph upon seeing his handiwork.

"How about it, are you satisfied with these?"

"Satisfied, incredibly satisfied, more satisfied than you can imagine!" Feng Jin gritted her teeth, suppressing the urge to throw a ring directly at Ling Mohan's face.

Ling Mohan lowered his eyes, observing the ever-changing expressions on Feng Jin's face, finding it utterly amusing.

"Lu Shi, move everything you've caught out."

Only then did Feng Jin fully realize Ling Mohan was serious. She rushed to block his path, "Ling Mohan, you're really going through with this? You're actually going to move the things?"

She asked him again, her eyes filled with a warning. If the man dared to nod in affirmation, she would slap him without hesitation.

"Naturally. I paid for the rings, and you're running a business. You can't go back on your word, can you?"

Cornered, Feng Jin found herself unable to utter a single word of retraction. The deed was done, and she could only blame her bad luck.

She'd consider it a misfortune averted, a mere trifle. She had plenty more items in her storeroom and didn't care about these things at all.

"Of course, I keep my word. My integrity is always the best. Since you've caught them, you can take them away directly."

Feng Jin resigned herself to the situation. If he wanted to move them, let Ling Mohan move them.

Ling Mohan's lips curved into a faint smile. His favorite thing was to see Feng Jin looking reluctant yet stubbornly refusing to admit it.

A fire to deliberately provoke Feng Jin flared within him. Ling Mohan turned to Lu Shi, who stood by his side, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and move everything. Anything I've caught, not a single piece can be left behind. Take it all."

"Ah! Young General... this is too much. If I have to move it all by myself, I'll be worked to death."

Lu Shi glanced around. Almost every item had a bamboo ring on it. If he had to move all this alone, how long would it take?

"Just move it when I tell you to. Stop with all the nonsense!"

Lu Shi was becoming increasingly talkative and always liked to argue with him for a bit.

"Yes, Young General."

Lu Shi reluctantly agreed. Under Feng Jin's warning gaze, he stiffened his resolve and hesitantly picked up an item, his feet trembling uncontrollably.

"Young Madam, these are the Young General's orders. I... I have no choice... Please be understanding."

"It's alright, Lu Shi, just move them!"

She said this to Lu Shi, but Feng Jin's gaze remained fixed on Ling Mohan. He was truly something, daring to move the items. It was as if he had made up his mind, steeling himself to oppose her to the very end.

Feng Jin took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. She absolutely could not get angry at this moment; otherwise, she would lose face completely. She absolutely could not get angry.

With this thought in mind, Feng Jin forced a bitter smile onto her lips. What's the big deal about a few things? She had plenty more and didn't care about them.

Watching them being emptied out one by one, Feng Jin felt her heart shatter into a thousand pieces.

"Young General, they're... they're all moved."

Lu Shi panted, his forehead covered in sweat. He was truly exhausted, and now he had to move everything from here to the study. This entire task had fallen solely on his shoulders.

Ling Mohan cautiously observed Feng Jin's expression. It was truly grim, yet she was clearly holding back her emotions.

"Aren't you going to set them up again?"

"No more. Today ends here. If you want to play again, we can do it tomorrow."

She had no mood to set them up again. Moreover, all the items she had prepared had been taken by Ling Mohan. Even if she wanted to set them up, she wouldn't have anything left.

Were they supposed to try and catch empty air? After saying this, Feng Jin turned and left in a huff.

"That's it? We haven't even had enough fun!"

Lin Yuwei said with some disappointment. She had just started getting the hang of it and was about to show off her skills, but it was already over. It was truly unsatisfying.

"Yes, I didn't even get the hairpin I wanted," Ling Wan also looked dejected. She hadn't expected it to end so quickly.

"Eldest Brother, you've really angered Eldest Sister-in-law this time."

Ling Muzhu felt that what his eldest brother had done was indeed a bit excessive. He had clearly seen his eldest sister-in-law's face darken.

"Frivolity leads to ruin. You all should disperse as well."

Ling Mohan did not directly answer Ling Muzhu's words, merely brushing it off with a casual remark.

As he passed by Lin Yuwei, Ling Mohan, in a moment of kindness, reminded her, "Prince Jing is currently looking for you all over the streets. His expression suggests he's quite angry. You should hurry back."

It wasn't entirely without reason for Chu Chenyi to be angry. Lin Yuwei was being too reckless, going out alone while pregnant. Wasn't that just asking for trouble?

"Ah... Oh no..."
