A Ming quickly plastered a smile on his face. "This way, please."
Entering the beast riding grounds, a pair of adorable, blinking eyes met their gaze.
"Allow me to introduce these esteemed guests," A Ming said, "These are the Huanmei, Suan Yan, Hui Kui, Meng Chi, Ju Shang, and Pa Pi. These are our standard priced mounts, and we also have mid-tier options..."
Fan Wuqi interjected, "Just show us the best mounts."
A Ming nodded. "Understood. Please come this way. Here we have Hong Tu, Xiao Tian, Bai Ze Chuan Chuan, Xuanyuan Chuan Chuan, Ying Hu, Gu Long, and Qian Feng. Which one catches your fancy, esteemed guest?"
Fan Wuqi pondered for a moment. "Are these the best available?"
A Ming nodded. "Indeed, they are."
Fan Wuqi explained to Ming Zhi Tian, "These mounts are quite decent. All of them are at the Awakening realm first level. Though their cultivation is low, their flight speed is sufficient for self-preservation."
Ming Zhi Tian pointed to Bai Ze Chuan Chuan. "This one, how much?"
A Ming smiled faintly, not batting an eye. "Eighty million Divine Martial Coins."
Ming Zhi Tian was about to say, "I'll take it."
But before the word "take" could fully leave his lips, Fan Wuqi cut in, holding up five fingers. "Too exorbitant. This is my offer."
A Ming's brow furrowed slightly. "Fifty million? Absolutely not!"
Fan Wuqi shook his head. "Five million."
"!"
Let alone A Ming, even Ming Zhi Tian and Bai Liuli were momentarily taken aback.
A Ming gave a wry smile. "Esteemed guest, you jest. Five million wouldn't even cover the feed costs."
Fan Wuqi waved his hand. "Don't try to pull a fast one. My final offer is five million. Not a single coin more, agreed? Have you considered it?"
"It's truly not possible..." A Ming was sweating profusely. This was the first time he felt such pressure.
Fan Wuqi continued, "This Bai Ze Chuan Chuan is merely a 'Chuan Chuan'. I wouldn't even accept it as a gift. If it weren't for my young master's fancy, would you really mistake it for the divine beast Bai Ze?"
Even as a descendant of a divine beast, it was being dismissed as worthless.
A Ming was caught in a dilemma. "This... this..."
Fan Wuqi rose, brushing off his sleeves. "If that's the case, we shall look elsewhere."
Seeing the potential customer about to leave, A Ming quickly stopped him. "Wait, esteemed guests, please hold on. I need to consult with the shopkeeper. May I?"
Fan Wuqi replied, "Very well. But make it quick."
A Ming sprinted away.
They had never encountered such guests, nor had they seen any guests leave without a purchase. It seemed they had met their match.
Arriving on the second floor, A Ming recounted the situation.
The shopkeeper scoffed. "A couple of bumpkins, claiming they can afford five million? Sell it to them. But if they can't pay, have them thrown out!"
A Ming nodded. "Yes! Shopkeeper."
A Ming returned to the beast riding grounds. "The shopkeeper has agreed. Five million Divine Martial Coins it is. Would you like to test it?"
Ming Zhi Tian shook his head. "No need."
He had great faith in his judgment. He produced five million Divine Martial Coins from his storage bag and handed them to A Ming.
A Ming accepted the money order, then unlocked the cage with a key, fitted the saddle, and handed Bai Ze Chuan Chuan to Ming Zhi Tian.
Bai Ze Chuan Chuan, a descendant of the divine beast, was entirely white. It lacked the azure and sapphire markings of the divine beast Bai Ze, but otherwise resembled it.
Ming Zhi Tian mounted it. Bai Ze Chuan Chuan initially bucked and leaped rebelliously, but was soon tamed by Ming Zhi Tian. It appeared these mounts were all trained, otherwise Ming Zhi Tian would not have been able to mount it so easily.
Ming Zhi Tian asked Bai Liuli, "Liuli, you should choose one too. They're quite good."
"No, I'm not interested," Bai Liuli replied. Despite her words, Ming Zhi Tian pressed, "Just pick one. I think that Xuanyuan Chuan Chuan looks good."
She eventually chose a large jade rabbit mount. Ming Zhi Tian blinked in surprise. Bai Liuli asked, "Is there a problem?"
Ming Zhi Tian shook his head. "No, it's lovely." He mused that Bai Liuli, despite her tough exterior, had a girlish heart, preferring pink and cute animals.
