Ji Xingmi took a kayak out of the spatial storage. After they both put on their life-saving equipment, they got into the kayak. The boat was very fast, and they soon left the others far behind. Ji Xingmi had set the timer for 30 minutes. The people on the boat had been drugged by her and it was estimated they would never wake up.
The two of them floated on the sea like this. Gu Jingyi wanted Ji Xingmi to go back inside, but Ji Xingmi felt that rescuers were coming soon and insisted on staying. After all, they were at sea, and even small waves could be dangerous. She couldn't let him be alone outside. Ji Xingmi took out the telegraph machine and sent their precise location to the rescuers. Then, she leaned against Gu Jingyi to rest.
The sea at night was quite terrifying, completely dark. They always felt that strange leviathans might appear in corners they couldn't see.
"It's a little scary. I don't think I want to take a boat again!"
"Don't be afraid! Shall I tell you a story?"
"Huh? You can tell stories too?"
"Yes, a long, long time ago, a little fairy appeared in a young boy's world..."
"You made this story up, didn't you?! Where would this story come from?" While they were talking, Gu Jingyi heard movement from afar. After settling Ji Xingmi, he got up, picked up the binoculars, and observed. Seeing the flag on the ship, he knew their rescuers had arrived. Gu Jingyi asked Ji Xingmi to put everything away, leaving only a flashlight. He then turned on the flashlight and began to signal. Soon, they noticed their movements.
They slowly approached them. As they got closer, Gu Jingyi saw Spider and Flying Eagle standing on the deck at the bow of the ship. They had come out? Before he could ponder this question, they threw ropes. Gu Jingyi tied the rope to their kayak and gave a signal. Spider and the others began to pull the rope slowly, stopping only when the two boats were close.
Spider threw down another rope. Gu Jingyi tied himself and Ji Xingmi together, protecting her with his arms. He tugged the rope. They received the signal from above and pulled the two of them up.
Seeing Ji Xingmi's pale face, Spider didn't dare to touch her. After untying them, he told Gu Jingyi to take Ji Xingmi inside to rest first. After retrieving the kayak, they set sail back.
Meanwhile, on the Eagle's side, they couldn't contact the Company Ship no matter what. At this time, someone also noticed that the ship that had been following them was gone, and dispatched two warships to search for it. They continued to sail towards the port.
Unfortunately, they found nothing. The small Japanese boat, along with the people on board, had already sunk to the bottom of the sea. Ji Xingmi and the others had already sailed back into their own waters and blended into the fishing boat fleet. Even if they wanted to investigate, they couldn't find any trace of them. When the two warships returned, they reported the incident. Because of the Japanese boat, the Eagle shifted all the blame onto the "Little Sunflowers," who had no way to defend themselves! How they endured the Eagle's wrath was another story.
As soon as Ji Xingmi got onto the ship, she fainted, finally able to relax and faint. The military doctor who accompanied them examined her body and found no serious issues, only some weakness. Gu Jingyi stayed by her side. He didn't dare to tell the doctor how Ji Xingmi had gotten into such a state. All he could do now was stay with her.
In a daze, Ji Xingmi woke up. "Where are we now?"
"Still on the ship. We are with the fishing boats now. The Eagle's fleet is patrolling not far away. Spider and the others said we'll stay with the fishing boats for the time being." Gu Jingyi briefly explained their current situation.
Ji Xingmi nodded and then said to him, "I need to go inside for a bit. Lock the door!" Gu Jingyi nodded, went out to give instructions to the people outside, and then came back and locked the door.
Ji Xingmi took him into the spatial storage. Gu Jingyi carried her into the hot spring and stayed beside her. Ji Xingmi had recovered a little and then said to him, "You can go explore. I have quite a lot of things here!"
"Next time. I'll wait for you to introduce me," Gu Jingyi replied, shaking his head.
Ji Xingmi felt she had soaked enough and prepared to get up. Gu Jingyi helped her out and sent her to the room before waiting outside, lost in thought looking at this small world. When Ji Xingmi came out, she saw him deep in thought and sat down beside him.
Gu Jingyi helped her up. "Are you feeling better now?"
"I'm alright. I just used up a lot of energy. I just need some rest!" As she spoke, Ji Xingmi still had a small bottle in her hand. This was medicine from the spatial storage, not something she had refined herself. She poured out a pill and took it. Instantly, her head felt much lighter, and she breathed a sigh of relief. She had been a little worried she wouldn't recover, but now she seemed to have found the medicine for recovery. It was medicine she had just found in the bamboo house. She stared at the medicine in her hand, lost in thought.
"What's wrong?"
Hearing his question, Ji Xingmi snapped back to reality. "Huh? It's nothing. Do you want to go explore? There's an orchard ahead!"
"Have you recovered a bit now? Next time. Let's go out first. You should rest a bit more!" Gu Jingyi was still concerned about her health.
