She had nothing more to say to his shameless words and could only give a mocking smile. "Then I don't want to go out now. I'll go for a walk myself after my hair dries! You won't allow that, will you?"
Koizumi Shoichi replied without even a frown, "Of course not! You are free here!"
Ji Xingmi looked at him and finally went over to close the door. However, she didn't know that right after she closed the door, someone came out from the side and said to Koizumi Shoichi, "Professor, why be so courteous to them? They don't respect you at all."
"For the Great Day Empire, what is all this worth? Let them relax for these few days. They can't escape now that we're at sea. Once we rendezvous with the fleet from Eagle Country, don't let them out, and don't let those people over there discover them." Koizumi Shoichi instructed from the side, then frowned and didn't leave.
"Understood, Professor!" The other person left first. Koizumi Shoichi remained standing at the doorway for a while, lost in thought.
Gu Jingyi was still inside, drying Ji Xingmi's hair, and texting her about the two fools outside. Gu Jingyi felt that these past few days had been very relaxed. He and Ji Xingmi had lived together before, but he was always busy with his own affairs, and Ji Xingmi would often go out to do her own things. It felt like they had never truly lived a simple life together like this before.
What made him happiest was that they had been staying together recently. A few nights ago, he had been afraid of being left behind by them, so he hadn't been in the mood to consider anything else, constantly on guard. Since boarding the ship, he no longer worried. Especially last night, after Ji Xingmi fell asleep, he had watched her for a long time. Putting other things aside, he was quite happy in his heart.
After Ji Xingmi's hair dried, she went out for a stroll with Gu Jingyi. They ambled on the deck, hand in hand. The sea was calm now, with no waves, and the ship sailed smoothly. Koizumi Shoichi received the news as soon as they came out. If he hadn't been involved in the whole process, he would have thought these two were out for a holiday, showing no signs of fear or nervousness.
Gu Jingyi led Ji Xingmi towards the water tank, but he could sense they were being followed, though no one showed themselves.
"It seems we're being watched!" Gu Jingyi voiced his discovery and then gently tidied Ji Xingmi's hair, which had been ruffled by the sea breeze.
Ji Xingmi also noticed the situation. "Koizumi is watching from above!" Gu Jingyi followed her gaze and saw Koizumi Shoichi, who even waved at them. Koizumi Shoichi also smiled and bowed towards them.
"The waves will come soon. We'll go with the flow and fall over. Brother Jingyi, your acting needs to be on point!" Gu Jingyi understood the first part of her statement, but could only grasp the general meaning of the latter. He was about to ask what kind of wind was considered a wave when a sudden swell hit, causing the ship to lurch. Ji Xingmi pulled Gu Jingyi and they both fell over! They landed directly near the water tank. Koizumi Shoichi saw them fall and quickly turned, presumably heading towards them.
During this opportune moment, Gu Jingyi slightly opened the door of the water tank, and Ji Xingmi seized the chance to throw in the pills. Just as they finished, they heard the sound of running footsteps. Gu Jingyi let go and stood up, then helped Ji Xingmi up.
"Dr. Ji, are you alright?" Koizumi Shoichi rushed over, asking anxiously.
Ji Xingmi exaggeratedly replied, "My hand hurts a little!" Gu Jingyi examined her and found no external injuries. Koizumi Shoichi saw this, breathed a sigh of relief, and then escorted them back to their room. He also mentioned that lunch would be delivered to their room, so they wouldn't need to go out. Ji Xingmi didn't refuse and returned to her room to lie down. It seemed the wind and waves had picked up, and the ship was rocking violently.
"What's wrong?" Gu Jingyi asked, seeing Ji Xingmi's genuine discomfort, unsure of what to do.
"I think I'm feeling a bit seasick! I feel awful! Stop rocking!" Gu Jingyi hugged Ji Xingmi, hoping she would feel more comfortable. Gradually, the ship began to stabilize, at least not rocking as much as before. Gu Jingyi poured a cup of water for Ji Xingmi. The water in the kettle in the room had already been replaced by Ji Xingmi, so she drank a mouthful from his hand without any hesitation.
Soon, lunch was delivered. Gu Jingyi went to the door to retrieve it. The person delivering it this time was not Koizumi Shoichi but someone he hadn't seen before.
Gu Jingyi came back in with the food and placed it on the table. "When will those medicines take effect? Will it be alright for us to eat them?"
"Don't eat this. Wait for me here!" Ji Xingmi took the items and vanished right in front of Gu Jingyi. Gu Jingyi was stunned for a moment, then stood up to check if he had locked the door properly. Ji Xingmi quickly reappeared from her spatial realm. She had already processed the food they had delivered and brought out two large bowls of noodles, specifically pork rib noodles. Ji Xingmi also took out the chili sauce she had made earlier. She loved spicy food and added a large spoonful. Gu Jingyi also loved it and added a large spoonful.
