Instantly, the person's eyes lost focus, becoming vacant and listless. His previously taut body relaxed.
"Where is the data?" Qi Tian asked.
"All the data in the base has been destroyed, it only exists in the encrypted cloud..."
"Encrypted cloud? Can you access it now?" Qi Tian asked, unfolding his laptop and placing it beside the person.
"Yes."
Like a puppet, the person was manipulated by Qi Tian. He sat up and opened Qi Tian's computer, beginning to download the data from the cloud.
"This place will self-destruct in a minute. Shouldn't we leave first?" Lin Xiao didn't seem to notice the researchers fleeing on foot, trying to escape the facility. He neither obstructed the giant nor the fleeing personnel.
This experimental base was vast. To run out from this location would take these people at least two minutes, which was insufficient time for them.
"Alright."
Qi Tian called out. One of his two enormous puppets hoisted the researcher operating the computer onto its shoulder and then leaped, exiting the base from where they had entered.
Jones watched the base's footage, his expression grim.
Previously, to ascertain what was inside John's brain, they had conducted examinations, but found nothing unusual. Now, to their surprise, this person had instantaneously gained control of John.
"Precision strike ready!" a voice crackled through the communicator beside him.
"Fire!"
Jones was decisive. To ensure their years of hard work wouldn't fall into the hands of that lunatic, this was their only recourse. By eliminating everyone here... no, by eliminating John, their data would be secure. As for killing Lin Xiao and that madman, he didn't even dare to consider it. Those two were too monstrous, and with the presence of those two artificial beings of unknown composition, even approaching them was a problem.
This missile was their hope. If even this single missile couldn't stop the two of them... then they would simply have to accept defeat. At least for the foreseeable future, they couldn't find anyone capable of dealing with Lin Xiao or that madman. They understood the strength of the Dragon King, and the current Lin Xiao was terrifying. Their latest modified humans were not yet successful.
"From my understanding of them, someone should intervene soon," Lin Xiao said, hearing the massive explosion behind him. He seemed to envision the researchers' bodies engulfed in flames amidst the blast.
"Can they stop it?" Qi Tian waited calmly for his computer to finish downloading all the data. Meanwhile, the researcher he controlled began to tremble, white foam appearing at the corners of his mouth.
"This guy's overloaded," Lin Xiao's eyebrows shot up. He reached out and caught the controlled researcher, saying, "Release the control."
"This body is too frail," Qi Tian shook his head, deeply disappointed that the researcher couldn't last.
"Researchers are like that, spending all day in places like that, never seeing the sun and with no time for physical training," Lin Xiao explained, laying the person's body on the ground.
