Lin Xiao looked curiously at the security guards at the door.
"This establishment has a total of one hundred and eight Platinum VIPs and above. I remember the appearance of all of them, so I know you are not a member here," the security guard said.
"Good memory… How does one become a Platinum VIP here?" Lin Xiao curled his lips. His gaze had already passed through the guards, looking at the rows of private rooms behind them. Moreover, these private rooms had special treatments; he couldn't sense the specific energies within them.
He knew that his cultivation was such that only a very few could conceal their presence from him.
Yet, these private rooms here managed to do so, indicating considerable effort had been invested.
No wonder the peculiar, foul odor outside was even fainter than that of those two people. If one didn't search meticulously, it would be hard to notice.
"I apologize, but Platinum VIPs and above require an introduction from an existing VIP. Membership cannot be obtained through other channels. Therefore, the three of you must leave," the guard said, opening the elevator doors and gesturing for them to enter.
"What kind of membership has so many restrictions?" Lin Xiao's eyes darted around. He then said to Hu Zhicheng, "Show them your credentials. We are police officers, and we suspect that illicit transactions, including but not limited to sexual ones, are being conducted here."
Hu Zhicheng, very cooperatively, took out his badge and showed it to the guards.
Upon seeing Hu Zhicheng's badge, the two guards remained quite composed. They then produced a document: "Officers, here are our relevant documents and operational details. The membership system is in place to ensure our members' privacy. Furthermore, Platinum VIPs and above are friends of our owner or shareholders, and this private club was built solely to serve them. Therefore, we sincerely apologize."
"We need to conduct an inspection," Hu Zhicheng said, looking at the documents. They were indeed comprehensive and had special notes within them. He then frowned.
"Manager, it is like this. According to our records, we conduct an unscheduled inspection once a month. However, the most recent unscheduled inspection concluded the day before yesterday. Therefore… please leave," the guard said, neither subservient nor arrogant. Frankly, he didn't seem like an ordinary security guard at all, but rather like a bodyguard for someone of particular importance.
Hearing this, Hu Zhicheng furrowed his brow. He needed to make a phone call to report to his superiors.
"This way…" Lin Xiao immediately dialed Zhu Guangyu. That guy had said earlier he wasn't going to the bathhouse, but would explore outside first. Now was the time to leverage Zhu Guangyu's identity: "Where are you? Any leads? Come to the top floor now. The search here requires your intervention."
"Coming right away."
Zhu Guangyu arrived within minutes.
However, Zhu Guangyu was rather surprised. He leaned closer to Lin Xiao and whispered, "Brother Xiao, we already know what kind of place this is… Why not just act directly?"
"We try to follow procedure when we work. It'll be faster, and besides… they can't run away," Lin Xiao said softly. "Isn't this for your own good? To avoid public pressure."
