Chapter 403 Unconventional Means

This, the bishop found even harder to bear. He clutched his cross, looking as if he were about to strike Daisy.

Failing today, after failing yesterday, was a profound humiliation for someone as arrogant as him!

And Daisy, of all people, was standing there, making light of it!

"Enough!"

The President rubbed his temples. Ever since arriving in Dragon Country, nothing had gone smoothly. He was already bothered by his recent gossip, and now these two, representatives of the very pinnacle of the United States' strength, were fighting amongst themselves? Was this meant to be a spectacle for everyone?

He even suspected surveillance from Dragon Country within the hotel, watching them hide behind the scenes and laugh.

Moreover, his personal bodyguard had been sent back home directly because of last night's incident.

While it wasn't a major issue, to him, it was equivalent to a slap in the face!

"I apologize, Mr. President."

Even these two, who were considered closest to gods, meekly apologized to the President at this moment.

However, after apologizing, they resumed their stance of complete incompatibility.

"I will find a way to use diplomatic channels to retrieve our property… You two figure out your own ways as well. The money I spend on both of you annually is not for you to quarrel like this!"

The President, suppressing his anger, offered the only available solution.

"If the time comes, you two are permitted to use unconventional methods."

Unconventional methods, of course, referred to them being allowed to use their divine powers against the Dragon Country people.

"Yes."

Upon hearing this, Daisy's eyes lit up. She had wanted to test her abilities that night, and now that she had the President's permission, an idea formed in her mind. She said, "I'll go out for a bit."

With that, she decisively left the room.

At this late hour, what was she going to do?

Though the President was puzzled, he couldn't control her. As the spokesperson for a goddess, in a sense, even he had to show Daisy respect.

The bishop, holding his cross, muttered prayers, seemingly seeking his Lord's help.

After waiting for a while, the President finally said to the bishop, "Bishop, I believe you can leave my room now."

"Very well, sir."

The bishop then vanished.

The President, looking utterly exasperated, shook his head, waved his hand, and lit a cigar.

"Mr. President, perhaps…"

"No, my friend, what I want to know now is, have you found that person?" the President interrupted his secretary. "Or did you fail as well?"

Smoking his cigar, the President tried his best to control his emotions. He hadn't heard a single piece of good news yet and desperately hoped his friend could deliver some positive tidings.

However, it was clear that his secretary had no good news to offer.

With an awkward smile, the secretary replied, "I am truly sorry, Mr. President. When I went to investigate that person yesterday, I discovered that he had already left Modu and disappeared. You know, our intelligence network in Dragon Country isn't particularly comprehensive, so I haven't been able to locate him for the time being."

"Understood."
