Chapter 70

Chapter 70: Chapter 70

Mart tucked Emy in with some blankets that were in his magic bag, as the times when the opportunity arose to be with Iristel were sudden, he had become accustomed to carrying clean blankets.

"Thanks Emy, that was great. Now I have to give back to this world a little of what it has given me," thought Mart who had already put on a white colored shirt and pants, which was his sleepwear outfit. He then sat down on the floor and pulled out the two bags that were on the demon ring.

Mar t took out about 100 level 5 demon stones from one of the bags, which possessed a purple color and in total had cost him over 70 000 gold coins.

"I hope it’s enough, since I had to spend a lot of capital," thought Mart, who then took the first demon stone from the bag, dropped a drop of his blood on the stone, recited an incantation with indescribable phrases, which he had learned from the books of curses he had studied and whose knowledge he was perfecting and putting it to the test, then infused demonic energy and a cursed diagram appeared on the stone which turned a dark red color and seemed to emit a slight dark miasma, after which he kept the cursed stone in his demonic ring. When he had repeated the process for the twentieth time sweat was trickling down his forehead, but he continued until he turned the fiftieth demon stone into a cursed stone.

"This is not that easy, more than demonic energy, it consumes mental stamina," thought Mart who was feeling exhausted due to the amount of mental stamina it required to create each cursed stone.

"No, I can’t stop yet," thought Mart to then start infusing only demonic energy into the rest of the demon stones, as he was planning to put them to a different use.

By the time Mart finished infusing demonic energy into the last demonic stone, a trickle of light could already be seen barely entering through a small chink that was between the curtain and the window frame of the room.

"I’ll leave the rest to finish it in my room if possible, I still have to rest, or no matter how much I’ve prepared myself I’ll end up making a mistake," thought Mart who went into the bathroom and a few minutes later came out dressed in a brown shirt, cream colored pants and brown shoes.

"You’re so cute," thought Mart who had sat on the edge of the bed to look at Emy who was still sleeping. Mart took out a demon energy potion and drank it, not for lack of demon energy, but because demon energy allowed him to slowly re-establish other attributes.

When he felt he had recovered enough to at least execute a demonic spell, he pulled out a dagger, cut some of his hair, and then pulled out one of his Fertzal blades. He placed the hair he had cut in the middle of the expensive sheet of paper, and recited a prayer:

"A part of me here you have,

When you die I will know

Then someone will die

As an offering to you,

Existential curse."

After his prayer Mart dropped a drop of blood on the hairs, then a small cursed diagram appeared in the center of the sheet of paper, right where the hairs began to writhe like living worms.

"Apparently the first living curse I create, has been a success," Mart thought as he folded the Fertzal sheet containing his hair, until he turned the sheet of paper into a small envelope.

Emy opened her eyes, she saw Mart dressed, closing a paper envelope, Mart’s look showed some exhaustion, she approached him and asked:

-Didn’t you sleep?

-No, but I tried to use that time properly, take this envelope, I want you to burn it if you are in danger, no matter what, do you understand? -Mart finished his words by demanding a promise from Emy while looking at her firmly.

Emy understood that Mart was serious, so not to worry him she took the envelope and told him:

-No matter what, I will burn this envelope and I will be waiting for you?

Mart knew that she was an S class, a third year, but he still hoped that she would not be in any danger. Especially since after he went to the S-class facility, he didn’t see any outstanding students.

Emy got out of bed, she was naked, she grabbed a white bathrobe that was on the nightstand, put it on and walked to the bathroom, and after bathing she came out of the bathroom wearing the white bathrobe, she sat down and saw her dress somewhat spoiledadi, she was going to use demonic spells to clean them, but Mart pulled out a casual dress that he had bought for her when they went to Mrs. Loretta’s store shortly before heading to the hotel. When Emy had dressed, the two walked to the door of the hotel room, Mart placed a demon ring on Emy and said:

-I’ve already placed your books inside. I don’t want you to talk back, this is just a gift. From now until the end of our lives, you will be my partner, so this is the least I can do.

Emy nodded, she wanted to say and ask many things, but in the end she kept silent as she preferred to think things through and to become a support and not a burden.

The two left the hotel room. As they walked through the streets, Mart shook his head, the city at first glance looked quiet, but all the conspirators near the academy had disappeared.

"It will start very soon; this is the second trial by fire that the Danteriar Academy must pass," Mart thought as they were just short of reaching the entrance of the academy.

Once at the academy, Emy kissed Mart and said in her calm tone:

-Thank you for everything, you made me very happy.

-As long as I live, I will continue to do so.

After hearing Mart’s words, Emy walked away, heading for the female dormitories.

When she disappeared from Mart’s sight, he walked towards his room, he ignored the surroundings, he knew that imminent chaos was approaching, so rumors were the least of it, because he sensed that if he was careless, he could easily end up getting caught for collateral damage.

Once in his room, he didn’t hesitate, just took off his shoes and lay down on the bed while saying in his mind to the system:

"Activate the trait laziness. Only deactivate it if there are strong energy fluctuations of any kind in the environment that you can perceive."

[Laziness trait activated]

[Voluntary hibernation]

[Rest Host]

In the valley, Nirian was sitting on a hill, she had left the military tent, as she could not stop thinking about what was going to happen, especially since she witnessed the sudden turmoil that arose after the morning hours, and her intuition told her that what was happening was related to what was going to happen at the academy.

"What will you do Mart Sevec? Do you really do things for the demons? If that’s so, will you stay at the academy knowing it’s so dangerous?", They were questions for which Nirian couldn’t find answers. She had never thought so much about the words of someone other than her father, her mother, and her brother; but when Mart Sevec went out to face the danger she considered would be her end, but for the insulting words he said, he would have seemed heroic to her, after that he told her that he did it all for the demons. And now she who was known as one of the prodigies was in hiding waiting for the danger to pass, that frustrated her.

-What’s wrong sister? You don’t look well, you haven’t fallen in love, have you? - asked Moraf with a light tone of mockery, while throwing a purple apple with red thorns into the air.

-What a fool you are? Do you think I would fall in love so easily with a philandering bastard? -exclaimed Nirian.

-Oh, so easy? -Moraf said and laughed, then bit into the thorn apple and sat down on a nearby rock.

-I’m sorry. -Said Nirian somewhat frustrated because she had always liked to keep her cool like her father did.

-You don’t have to? Just be happy, you’re my goal, you know? If you relax I’ll get over you soon. -Moraf expressed with a sincere and cheerful tone.

-You look like our mother. -Said Nirian.

-Ha ha ha, thanks for the compliment. -said Moraf who also observed his father’s subjects moving from one side to the other.

At the academy, everything seemed to be going normally. However, in the most important place of the Academy, which all the students were afraid to approach due to the reputation of Director Persec Merliano. That same Principal Persec was about to meet with two of the Academy’s executives to finalize the strategy they would use against the conspirators who were threatening the Academy and the lives of the students.
