Chapter 61: Chapter 61
As I mentioned before, the chimeras were monstrous beings without defined physical characteristics, because they were the combination of different beings and consciousnesses in a single body, that’s why most of them were chaotic and unstable beings; Even so, they all had one feature in common, and that feature was their energy core, so if you did not have the overwhelming power of my master and wanted to kill them without difficulty, it was best to destroy energy core and soon after they would die, but the previous case was more effective only against the prince rank chimeras, because the chimeras of king rank and emperor rank usually possessed more than two energy cores.
According to studies conducted by medium demons, who were under the command of the true demons, there were chimeras that devoured the weaker chimeras to obtain the energy cores and thus possess more than one core with which they would increase their power, but such actions only had the desired result if the core was compatible.
Next I will show you drawings about the anatomy and the shape of the cores of the king and emperor rank chimeras, although I doubt it will be of much use, because when I wrote this book most of the chimeras were already extinct during the chaos stage that I will tell you later, even so it is not too much to learn a little, because maybe you can find useful this information.
Mart turned the page he just read to the next and immediately the book increased the amount of demonic energy it was absorbing. Despite the amount of demonic energy the book began to absorb, Mart did not stop and looked closely at the images of hideous beings whose forms were unnatural, some had only half of what appeared to have been a giant humanoid head with a sutured eye socket , one eye intact and an enormous eye in the forehead and where the mouth should have been what was there was an ant’s jaw and a thing that looked like the tentacle of an octopus, more underneath the horrible head, where the neck should have been there were three long and enormous legs similar to spider legs and from the back of that head something similar to a scorpion’s tail was growing; that’s how horrible or strange all the chimeras were that Mart could see every time he turned a page, and as he saw the image of the chimeras, he felt that the information about the anatomy and weaknesses he had read regarding each image were being vividly etched in his mind, until the system notified him:
[Warning: (Demonic energy: 1.8/41.8)]
The moment the system notified him he closed the book, he looked at a clock that was near the entrance and it was only a little more than two hours to midnight, at that moment he took out the booklet he used to find the desired books, looking at the booklet he thought, "Abyssal Invocations".
On the booklet appeared a message with the following words:
"Teacher ID required to access information."
Mart felt a little anxious because those words corroborated what his intuition had suggested to him, abyssal summonings must be very dangerous.
"perhaps Professor Helen knows something about this subject, but at this point it would be very suspicious for me to approach her, who must be in the crosshairs of the conspirators."
Mart turned his gaze back to the booklet and remembered he still had an essay to finish so he thought, "Demonic Energy and Mana." Several dozen books appeared, but Mart didn’t bother to go through the titles, he just picked the most popular ones, as he was satisfied to get information that would allow him to complete his essay and get a passing grade without causing controversy. After going to the shelves for the books, Mart wasted no time and spent a full hour on each book, after which he handed the books to the front desk and the green-haired student put them away without exchanging words.
Mart left the restricted library and upon entering the library everything was already dark.
"Apparently only Emy stays up late reading," Mart thought for a few seconds after which he walked down the halls to his room.
••••
Mart walked into his room and on the desk was a note from Iristel with the following words:
"Mart, I stayed with Menna, I was helping her find a maid willing to take her shift. I love you."
Mart stored the note in his storage ring, sat down on a chair and began to write down everything he considered important about the information he got from the book "demonic hearts"; when he finished he put away his notebook and took out another notebook in which he was developing his essay and began to delve deeper into the topic about demonic energy and mana. In the end, after spending more than an hour writing, he culminated with the following lines based on the books he read:
-Mana can only be absorbed by humans, but demonic energy can be absorbed by humans who have made a pact with a demon, but demonic energy shortens the vitality of humans, yet gives them great power.
"Is that system true?" asked Mart after writing those lines.
[Depending on the human’s potential, it is possible.]
"Humans are extremely powerful, their potential is vast," Mart thought as he moved the writing pen that was between his fingers, until he had an idea that was not to his liking, so he preferred not to write it down.
Mart put away his notebooks and leaned against the back of his chair.
"Abyssal Invocations; it’s a pity I haven’t found any information on that subject."
After that thought, Mart prepared to go to sleep, he knew there was no point in thinking too much about a subject he was not going to be able to solve at the moment, so he preferred to rest and then investigate it if necessary.
