Chapter 80

Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Bang!

The intruder again blocked an attack now more powerful than before, his hand was shaking. At that moment Mart brazenly pulled out a level 4 demonic potion drank it, smiled and asked:

-Human scum, apparently you like the power of demons, do you want a potion?

Bang!

Before the intruder could answer, Mart fired another blade to then start backing slowly diagonally to his left.

"Come on, follow me," thought Mart who laughed and continued to provoke the intruder:

-Apparently you’re not so sure of yourself anymore!

The intruder gritted his teeth, he had been on the lookout for the 10 metal blades hovering above Mart, but Mart had not used them at any time.

The intruder jumped towards Mart.

Bang!

The intruder blocked a demonic energy blade that headed towards his nape, as he looked ahead, Mart had fallen back several meters.

The intruder who was already falling felt humiliated and threw a powerful demonic-magical energy slash at Mart, who only let himself plummet and while doing so threw towards Isirid several demonic energy potions and regenerative potions, without even counting them.

Bang!

The intruder didn’t have time to interfere, because he had had to block another attack.

"Now I understand why they say time is relative, I feel like it’s been years, and no teacher is coming," Mart joked in his mind to keep calm and stay focused.

Bang!

"Another blade, damn demon, I’ll kill you, one blade at a time, it seems he doesn’t want me to observe the surroundings, he must be lonely!" thought the intruder whose hand with which he held the scythe was bleeding slightly.

-Bastard, you came alone, you must be scared. That’s why...

Bang!

-Scared? I’m not the one who blocks the attacks. -Mart mocked the intruder, but pretended to be worried and kept backing away.

The intruder infused mana into the scythe which became coated in red and black energy, after which he attacked ready to cut the next blade and Mart at the same time.

Mart activated his demonic perception to the maximum, used the demonic energy absorption technique to the limit, and when the enemy was in front of him with the scythe raised.

Baang!

The intruder cut one of the blades, but contrary to what Mart thought he fired two in unison from different directions.

The instant the intruder heard both sounds he resigned himself and did not stop his attack, cutting one of the powerful blades and then the ten metallic blades that had been floating above Mart, who threw them against the scythe. Even so, nothing stopped the scythe that hit Mart’s left side who was thrown several times against the ground due to the impact.

In the mountain range north of the city.

Some mountains had taken on an ominous purple and blackish color, other mountains were crumbling, the surroundings were awash in a purple haze, Persec’s sinister look changed to a deep one.

"I will trust you; believer of the God Alvat."

Despite being covered in wounds, Persec’s power was undiminished.

-Look at you Persec, if you keep this up, I will take the glory and the rewards having finished off one of the most powerful demons in the land of demons. -The intruder confidently raised his wind elemental sphere.

Persec waved his staff and all the mist merged with the tornado surrounding the mountain range, he waved his staff once more and the entire surface in the mountain range turned black, and began to pray:

"You pray to the gods.

I pray to the past

In which the powers are found

Of that which must not be mentioned

Your believer here stands

Curse my enemies

Let them be offerings to you".

From the black surface of the mountain range emerged hundreds of humanoid beings covered by a black mist who knelt down and began to pray looking at the sky.

The murmurs of the beings were not in unison, they were hundreds of beings praying at their own pace, causing so much disharmony that it became an unpleasant sound.

The intruder holding the wind elemental sphere, felt the wave of incomprehensible murmurs repeating in his head, he began to despair and attacked the praying beings, but they regenerated and prayed with more strength and transmitting malicious feelings in their prayers.

The intruder’s teeth clashed together, he looked at Persec who was also praying and shouted at him with a desperate tone:

-Damned demon. You don’t care about your granddaughter.

Persec ignored him and continued praying. One of the intruder’s ears let out a trickle of blood, he felt pain and then dozens of locusts came out of his ear causing him indescribable pain.

"What’s going on why is he so calm? He resigned himself and wants me dead, my family, will be going through the same thing, they say that Persec’s curses have no comparison", thought the intruder, while the murmurs increased, the hand with which he held the sphere trembled when he was going to attack again, but he felt a sudden pain, this time it was in his throat, he could not help screaming when hundreds of locusts came out of his mouth.

"Stop, stop, what is this? This must be an illusion," the intruder trembled and hugged the wind elemental sphere tightly to keep his sanity, he rightly felt that as long as he had the power of the elemental sphere he would be fine, but when he looked at the sphere an ominous small crack appeared on the surface of the sphere.

By this time, Persec knew that the intruder would be untouchable as long as the sphere existed, so he directed his curse towards the sphere, causing further despair in the intruder as he saw how his lifeline was slowly degrading, just after he had contemplated and suffered the horrible tortures caused by Persec’s curses.

In the farthest commercial area of the academy, the assault by the archduke’s subjects continued, the smell of blood, waste, putrefaction and other unspeakable odors could be felt. Most of the surrounding buildings had fallen, everything was in ruins, the rain made the environment even more gloomy.

A horizontal column of fire lashed out at an abominable being with a huge, grotesque arm whose skin looked rocky and the rest of the being had a humanoid appearance covered with a brown mucus that gave off poisonous odors, and every so often spat out corrosive and highly poisonous balls of acid.

There had been casualties on both sides since the appearance of the abominable beings, but in the end, the advantage was again leaning in favor of the Archduke’s demons.

Archduke Arcariz observed the events from the window of the fourth floor of a building that was a short distance from the area they were assaulting, by that time the Archduke was attentive to the actions of the manager of the herbalist store "the orchard of the past".

-Archiduque. Commanders Teran and Miry ask if they should attack the manager of the herbalist store? -Asked a demon with blue eyes, black hair, which only had a white horn on the right side of the forehead, who was wearing a black and blue wizard robe which had on the right arm the emblem of the duchy.

-Tell them that if they have a chance to achieve something they can attack, otherwise it is better not to provoke him. -Archduke Arcariz answered without the slightest trace of doubt.

"They are not too intense, I think young people should know how to relax," thought the store manager, whose white hair was somewhat tousled by the wind and sometimes covered the base of his grayish goat horns, he reached into the sleeve of his black robe with green edges and pulled out a pipe resembling a dried monkey’s paw that had gems embedded in its nails, the manager spat black saliva into the pipe’s burner and it lit up, he brought the mouthpiece of the chilling pipe to his mouth, inhaled deeply and three gems glowed, one was red, one was green and the last one was black so its grayish glow was barely discernible. The manager exhaled and an in mensa amount of smoke rose from his mouth until the smoke took the shape of dozens and dozens of red, green or black specters.

All the wraiths threw themselves against the archduke’s demons and like smoke they entered through the mouths and noses of the mages, warriors or swordsmen.

The manager showed a subtle smile, but that subtlety was chillingly evil.

One of the archduke’s demons who was fighting using a sword against a being with dozens of black eyes, toothless jaws and four pointed and sharp legs, was pushing back the abominable being, until a green specter entered the body of the archduke’s demon causing the demon’s power range to decrease by a full range, which was enough so that with two movements of the sharp legs of the abominable being the arms of the demon fell to the ground, then its head was cut and skewered in one of the legs of the abominable being who dropped its digestive enzymes on the head turning it gelatinous and then put it in its toothless jaw.

On the other hand, the warriors affected by the red specters lost control and became furious, using their demonic energy in a disproportionate manner. with the which exhausted their strength quickly.

The ones that caused the most disasters, although they were only invoked in smaller numbers, were the black specters, which caused some of the archduke’s demons to surrender and become food for the abominable beings, and others even exploded their own demonic cores causing their own deaths.

The situation seemed to be getting complicated for the archduke’s demons until Commander Ardostian sighed, raised his grayish staff and the pure gem at its upper end glowed after which it emitted a powerful flash that spread like a ripple throughout the conflict zone, then small purple lights shone and the wraith curse disappeared.

"There’s too interesting demon, it’s a pity he’s a subject of the archduke," thought the manager as he exhaled again, but this time it was just ordinary smoke. The manager looked towards the academy and frowned as he saw that the lightning although continuing, had slightly changed its intensity, after which he thought "How pathetic. They were so sure of themselves, and apparently they are going to fail."
