Chapter 83: Chapter 83
As the seconds ticked by, the night seemed to grow darker and colder, largely because of the unceasing rain.
On the fourth floor of a building near the area where the assault against the conspirators was taking place in the remote commercial zone, Commander Huv Loper held a demonic crystal that had stopped glowing after which he reported:
-Archduke, Commanders Teran and Miry confirmed that they will attack.
Archduke Arcariz nodded without letting his attention wander from the manager of the herbalist store.
-Tell Commander Ardostian to start withdrawing with his group. -He ordered the Archduke.
Huv Loper was surprised, but did not contradict the Archduke’s decision and immediately he shone the demonic crystal and reported the Archduke’s orders to Commander Ardostian.
Commander Ardostian clenched his hands around the demon crystal, sighed and thought, "I thought I would die here."
In the ruined area there were only less than 20 abominable beings left who were being surrounded and subdued by the archduke’s demons. However, despite all the chaos the herbalist store was still intact, and at the top of the store building, the manager stood inhaling and exhaling smoke from the creepy looking pipe without showing any concern for the way events were unfolding.
Commander Teran, a robust demon, more than two meters tall wore a blue and black uniform whose shirt had no sleeves, even so he had in his uniform with all the ornaments and insignia that distinguished him as a commander, but his appearance was closer to that of the demonic mercenaries. Commander Teran, had a white horn in the center of his forehead, and another gray horns on his shoulders, his gaze was firm and two sharp fangs protruded from the bottom of his mouth, in his hands he carried an imposing halberd whose metal bar was black and its upper cutting end was bright red.
Commander Miry carried two black swords in her hands, she wore a blue and black uniform over which she wore a dark blue trench coat with the emblem of the Archduchy Arcariz, she had short greenish black hair, she had a patch covering her right eye and on the left side of her forehead there was a broken horn of red color.
The manager of the herbalist store saw the two commanders approaching, so he exhaled the smoke and the smoke went to the stove of the pipe extinguishing it, after that he kept the pipe in the left sleeve of his wizard’s robe.
Both Teran and Miry walked towards the herbalist store along the main path that led towards the main entrance of the store. Everything in the surrounding area was rubble and dust, the two commanders did not let their guard down for a second.
The manager turned his gaze to the two commanders who were in the sixth rank, and he thought, "these young men rely too much on their demonic artifacts".
Teran whipped his halberd into the air in the direction of the herbalist store and a powerful red destructive energy destroyed everything in its path until it hit a green demonic barrier that was created in an instant by the manager. The barrier resisted but the impact caused an explosion that created a cloud of dust and residual demonic energy that the commanders took advantage of to jump towards the store manager, who was still sitting calmly on top of the building.
The manager with a calm look pulled from the left sleeve of his wizard’s robe a golden chain that at its opposite end had a dangling eye which looked frantically in all directions, and the moment he could see the two commanders, he shook the chain and the dangling eye emitted an ominous shockwave that caused the commanders’ eyes to explode covering their faces with a viscous liquid and blood.
Commander Teran crashed into the facade of the herbalist store and fell to the ground, holding his hand to his face due to the foul pain.
On the other hand, the manager had to jump.
Demon cut!
Demonic cut!
Commander Miry didn’t stop her attack even for a second, the instant she lost her vision, she sharpened her demonic perception and continued attacking.
"Another talented demon on the archduke’s side, it’s pitiful, but you must die," thought the manager who began to back away without losing his cool, kept the chain with the hanging eye and then extended his right hand creating a cursed diagram to curse Miry, but a powerful lunge destroyed the cursed diagram and superficially cut the manager’s cheek.
Commander Teran had regained his composure and threw his halberd using his demonic perception with enough time to stop the manager’s cursed diagram.
The manager had to create two demonic barriers to protect himself from the direct ones that Commander Miry performed with her black swords.
The manager created another barrier that Miry was unable to destroy quickly, whereupon he managed to get away from the herbalist store.
"Naive, I just tried to give them a quick death," thought the manager, who extended his right arm to the side and created a cursed diagram in front of his right hand after which hundreds of green-colored cursed diagrams appeared.
The cursed diagrams turned the surrounding surface into a muddy and poisonous area, from which muddy beings emerged and grabbed the legs of Miry and Teran who had tried to attack again.
The two tried to use their demonic energy to strengthen their bodies, but the muddy beings wrapped their muddy arms around them to drag them both into the mud.
Despite the effort of the muddy beings, the two commanders continued to resist; but, soon after, two abominable beings appeared in the sixth rank of power, one was white and the other was jet-colored, the head of both abominable beings was deformed which made it impossible to distinguish the type of being they were. Those abominable beings moved with the help of leg tales similar to centipede legs and opened their jaws letting out an acid smell and showing hundreds of sharp teeth.
The two commanders sensed the presence of the abominable beings, but still they did not stop trying to free themselves from the muddy beings. When the abominable beings were about to devour the commanders, two dark blue demonic diagrams appeared above the abominable beings and they were compressed against the ground until they became a paste of flesh, blood, bones and debris.
The manager looked up and in the sky was the imposing Archduke Arcariz, who was wearing an elegant black and blue uniform, with some silver ornaments and on his shoulders he wore a black cloak that was not disturbed by the wind of the surroundings, in the same way not a single strand of the archduke’s hair seemed to move, at that moment the archduke held in his right hand a white staff that was made of dragon bones which had at its upper end two black horns similar to the horns that the duke had on his forehead.
-It is an honor to meet you in person, Archduke Arcariz. -The manager indicated with a calm tone and at the end he smiled subtly.
-Let’s get this over with, Cábrat Vercen, or should I call you Warlock Aciago? -asked the archduke to the manager of the herbalist store.
-Apparently there are spies everywhere. Isn’t that unfortunate? -asked Cábrat without showing any trace of concern.
-There is no place where money can’t leak, it just takes time. -The archduke indicated with his deep and imposing gaze while creating a black sphere on the top of his staff.
-That is true Archduke, I will leave, this place will not be my tomb, I still have a long way to go and curses to prove. -Manifested Cábrat at the same time that from his sleeves fell hundreds of black pearls that rolled without stopping and when they stopped they exploded raising a black mist in which Cábrat disappeared, and after which a huge demonic diagram of containment appeared which exploded and allowed everyone in the commercial area they had assaulted to feel a powerful ominous energy, and to hear a chain break.
Cry!
Crying!
Everyone could hear deafening cries and the ground on which the herbalist store stood shook with such force that the herbalist store filled with cracks and fell into rubble that raised a cloud of dust.
Then everyone saw a huge plump hand with short fingers whose skin was greenish yellow, emerge from the ground, the dust finished dispersing and a plump head, without eyes and from whose empty eye sockets emerged a black liquid that spilled over the cheeks of that childish-looking head, the being finished coming out of the ground and sat on the ground with its huge belly in the air in which there was a woman whose waist and hands were fused with the belly of the creature, but still the woman had an inexplicably exceptional and captivating beauty.
Seeing the woman in the belly of the horrible creature, the Archduke erected a 10-meter high wall around the area occupied by the monstrous creature and himself, in order to protect his subjects from almost instant death.
"An abyssal summoning!" , thought the archduke as he saw the creature in front of him.
The woman emerging from the belly of the monstrous creature asked the archduke with a captivating and touchingly sad look:
-Are you the father of my child?
