Bai Xiaozhou

Chapter 354 Resembling Lovers

Tang Tang took it and, like a child, peeled the mango and stuffed it into her mouth. "Mmm, this one isn't sweet."

"How could that be? Didn't the boss say the ones on top are sweeter? Let me try." As she spoke, Tang Tang very cooperatively brought the fruit to his lips.

Just as Xiao Feng was about to take a bite, Tang Tang raised her hand and pressed the entire mango onto Xiao Feng's face. The fresh, juicy pulp smeared all over his face.

"It seems you're biting it the wrong way. Eating it like this is very sweet," Xiao Feng said, simply cleaning his face. Instead of being angry, he even joked with Tang Tang.

Seeing them laughing heartily, Shi Xinxin couldn't bear to disturb them further. It seemed Tang Tang didn't reject him. Even after picking the fruit, when they went to wash their hands, Tang Tang was still restless.

Using the excuse of washing her hands, Shi Xinxin, whose hands still had soap suds, pretended to accidentally rub them onto Xiao Feng's hand, even though he had already washed his clean.

"Sorry," Tang Tang said, initially appearing careless and then apologizing sincerely.

Xiao Feng smiled and said nothing. He turned on the faucet and washed his hands again. Just as he finished and was about to dry them, Tang Tang inadvertently moved closer and smeared soap suds onto his hands again.

At first, Xiao Feng thought Tang Tang was acting unintentionally. But after the second and third time, he sensed something was wrong. He directly grabbed Tang Tang's hand and put it under the faucet.

"Let's wash them together. Your faucet must be faulty," Tang Tang said, smiling and trying to pull her hand away, but she couldn't match Xiao Feng's strength.

The two of them looked like a couple playfully bickering. Shi Xinxin, hiding in the room, watched this scene and chuckled to herself. She then looked at the lonely fruit pudding in front of her and felt a pang of emotion.

If Sheng Chenjin were here, it would be nice. Her phone had been on all day, but she hadn't received any calls from Sheng Chenjin. Besides spam messages, her phone had received nothing else.

Could it be that because she didn't turn on her phone yesterday, Sheng Chenjin got angry and didn't want to explain? She didn't know how Sheng Chenjin felt about her, but she now deeply regretted leaving so abruptly yesterday.

This would surely boost that woman's arrogance. More than anything, she didn't want to admit in front of others that Sheng Chenjin didn't love her, because she couldn't imagine a life without Sheng Chenjin anymore.

She loved him to the point of being unable to let go. However, she felt inferior because of her identity. She loved him with a humble heart, and both of them had brought her considerable pain.

Just then, Tang Tang and Xiao Feng, still playfully bickering, ran into the room, breaking Shi Xinxin's reverie. She quickly composed herself.

"Wow, you've done so much," Tang Tang exclaimed.

"Yeah, who wouldn't when our faucet isn't faulty? Washing hands takes only two minutes," Shi Xinxin said, teasingly.

"Oh, it's all his fault, he kept splashing water at me."

"Hey, it was you who kept putting foam on my hands," Xiao Feng retorted, his demanding tone completely devoid of his usual boardroom demeanor.

They acted like a couple in love, the boyfriend doting on his girlfriend. Shi Xinxin smiled. It seemed Tang Tang was finally listening to him.

Now, it appeared they were getting along without any minor squabbles. Tang Tang accepted Xiao Feng faster than Shi Xinxin had expected. In less than a day, the two of them had become this familiar.

After dinner in the evening, Shi Xinxin feigned tiredness and wanted to rest, leaving their company early.

Although it was a homestay, because Xiao Feng was acquainted with the owner, he had specifically asked them not to assign too many service staff. The three of them could manage themselves, and they only needed help with things like preparing vegetables.

After eating, the two of them voluntarily cleared the dishes and chatted and laughed in the kitchen. Shi Xinxin secretly observed them, and seeing that there was nothing to worry about, she truly returned to her room.

Seeing them so happy, Shi Xinxin couldn't help but think of Sheng Chenjin. She remembered having a similar feeling with Sheng Chenjin when they went shopping.

It was a simple, ordinary matter, but because there was no disparity in their status, and simply because she was with him, she felt happy.

Just like Tang Tang was now, Shi Xinxin took a deep breath, deeply regretting yesterday's events. She picked up her phone, but there was still no news from Sheng Chenjin.

"Why hasn't he called me yet? Is he really angry? Should I call him? No, how could I call him about something like this?"

She struggled with this internally for a long time, unable to make up her mind. Fine, she tossed her phone aside, lay down on the bed, and started watching TV. Full and languid, she soon felt drowsy.

Just then, the door to the room creaked open. Shi Xinxin forced her eyes open and looked towards the doorway. Tang Tang, hiding playfully behind a corner, only showed her head.

"Xiao Feng told me there's a small hill nearby where we can see fireflies. Do you want to go?"

Shi Xinxin shook her head. She had already retreated to her room earlier to give them some space. Such a romantic evening activity, how could she possibly go and disturb them?

Besides, she was terribly sleepy and didn't want to move at all.

Seeing Shi Xinxin's tired look, Tang Tang sighed. "Are you only here to sleep? I was worried you wouldn't have fun, but I didn't expect you'd want to sleep after eating your fill."

Tang Tang even chided her for being lazy. But the drowsiness was overwhelming, and she didn't have the energy to argue. Shi Xinxin burrowed under the covers and waved goodbye to Tang Tang.

"You go with him first. I'm too sleepy. Please thank him for his kind offer for me. Remember to come back early." Her voice grew softer as she spoke, eventually fading into silence.

Before she could hear what Tang Tang had to say, she had already fallen asleep. Tang Tang sighed, stepped forward to tuck her in, and gently brushed her hair.

She was so carefree. Seeing her like this, it seemed she hadn't received any calls from Sheng Chenjin. Although she had brought her here to relax, Tang Tang could tell that Shi Xinxin was still preoccupied with that matter.

Such a pitiful person. Being able to sleep was also a good thing; she should let her rest more. With this thought, Tang Tang turned and lowered the volume of the TV, then tiptoed out of the room.

She explained to Xiao Feng that Shi Xinxin was too sleepy and wouldn't be joining them. As she spoke, Tang Tang blushed slightly. Regardless of whether Shi Xinxin was faking it or not, now that they were two people left for such a romantic activity.
