Chapter 148 Fainting

Sheng Chenjin, upon exiting the office, noticed Shi Xinxin was missing and felt a faint sense of urgency.

He initially assumed Shi Xinxin had gone to the restroom and hurried around, looking everywhere. Even after asking the cleaner at the restroom, there was no sign of her.

All possible places she could have gone in the hospital were ruled out. Sheng Chenjin frantically searched the floors for Shi Xinxin, while simultaneously calling Bai Feng to track her location.

Just then, in the dim corridor, he spotted a sliver of fabric peeking out from behind a door.

It was the same color as the jacket Shi Xinxin was wearing today! Sheng Chenjin's heart leaped with joy and urgency. He rushed over and pushed open the door, only to find Shi Xinxin collapsed on the floor, looking pale and weak.

His heart clenched painfully, the ache spreading through his bones. He carefully helped her up, then immediately instructed Bai Feng to prepare a VIP room.

Shi Xinxin's lips were tightly pressed together, as if she had lost consciousness. Sheng Chenjin felt a surge of anxiety and a touch of fear. He gently scooped Shi Xinxin into his arms and strode towards the ward.

Amidst the bustling crowds of the hospital, an invisible pressure emanated from him. People instinctively moved aside, creating a clear path for Sheng Chenjin.

“Sheng Chenjin… Xinxin! What happened to her?” Yan Hao had just stepped out of the elevator when he saw Sheng Chenjin holding Shi Xinxin, his heart immediately filled with worry.

Sheng Chenjin had no time to attend to anyone else. He walked directly into the ward and gently laid Shi Xinxin onto the hospital bed.

His voice left no room for doubt, “Yan Hao, quickly check her condition.”

Without a word, Yan Hao anxiously prepared his medical kit and moved to the spot Sheng Chenjin had cleared. With practiced skill, he began to check Shi Xinxin's pulse and perform other necessary examinations.

Only two small marks had passed on the digital clock. Sheng Chenjin stood by, his gaze fixed on Shi Xinxin, feeling as if these short two minutes were longer than his entire life.

After Yan Hao's thorough examination, he let out a sigh of relief. “It’s nothing serious, she seems to have been stimulated, which caused her to suddenly lose consciousness and faint.”

Sheng Chenjin’s tension eased slightly upon hearing the first part, but the latter half instantly agitated him. “What do you mean stimulated? What kind of stimulation, tell me specifically.”

Yan Hao shook his head. “I’m a doctor, not a mind reader. However, Xinxin has been with you recently, you should consider if you might have stimulated her.”

“I…” Sheng Chenjin subconsciously started to answer.

Of course, Sheng Chenjin hadn’t. How could he bear to stimulate Shi Xinxin? She was the only soft spot in his life, the one he cherished above all else.

But seeing Shi Xinxin’s deathly pale face, Sheng Chenjin couldn’t bring himself to say anything.

Yes, he had been by Xinxin’s side all along, supposedly the one who understood and cared for her the most, yet he hadn't even noticed she was unwell at the first instance.

Sheng Chenjin nodded. “It was my negligence that led to Xinxin being unconscious like this. Prescribe her the most effective medication based on her current condition. Her recovery is paramount.”

He added, “No matter how much the medicine costs, it must be the best and most effective.”

Yan Hao lowered his head and began writing the prescription. “Even if you didn’t say it, I would do the same.”

Sheng Chenjin averted his gaze, looking at Shi Xinxin’s still pale face, his heart aching.

Bang!

In the fourth-floor conference room of Su Corporation, a heavy bang echoed!

“What is the meaning of this? The best opportunity is right in front of us, and you’re all deserting? You refuse to invest?”

Standing before a projected PPT, Su Li looked displeased at the line of people at the table.

An elderly shareholder slowly stood up. “Ms. Su, we understand your eagerness, but you must also look at it from another perspective. Although WH is selling at a low price now, that company has a five-year cooperation agreement with CL.”

Upon hearing anything related to that lowly Shi Xinxin, Su Li’s expression turned even uglier.

But thinking of the consequences if this venture succeeded, she curved her lips slightly. “I am naturally aware of that, and my intention in acquiring this company is precisely for this five-year cooperation.”

A satisfied smile gradually spread across Su Li’s face. “If we can seize this opportunity and acquire WH, we will have inextricable ties with CL.”

The shareholders disagreed with her. “This is not a valid reason for your acquisition. Although WH is being sold at a low price, it is still a price we cannot afford. If this company incurs losses in the future, our invested capital will be doubled.”

The shareholder’s words were logical and aligned with the current situation. Many high-ranking officials nodded in agreement.

Seeing that more than half of the conference room held opinions contrary to hers, Su Li gritted her teeth in anger. “But think about it, how powerful is CL in the market? How many of their products have sales exceeding one hundred million! As long as we can attach ourselves to this connection, the sales volume of products under the Su brand will at least double!”

Su Li’s thoughts went beyond what she openly stated. She merely intended to use this name to drain CL dry, thereby siphoning off CL’s popularity and sales figures. Preferably, she’d poach some talent from there.

The mere thought of Shi Xinxin’s furious expression after all this made Su Li want to laugh triumphantly.

No matter how capable Shi Xinxin was, could she still lose in the end when outmaneuvered?

However, Su Li’s perfect fantasy was shattered by a shareholder. He spoke, “Although your idea can boost the group’s sales volume for a while, in the long run, our group will only be draining others and not innovating, and our popularity will only decline.”

Frustrated by the shareholders' successive arguments, Su Li was extremely displeased. But given his status and his long tenure in the company, she softened her tone. “Elder Fang, we cannot continue to remain in a state of low popularity, can we? We need something to break through. During this period, I will also intensify my efforts to find innovative designers. Isn’t this a win-win situation?”

Seeing that she was still fixated on CL’s popularity and reputation, Elder Fang shook his head helplessly.

In this industry, everything was extremely difficult. There was no way Su Li could gain so many benefits for nothing.

The greater the benefits gained now, the greater the disadvantages would be later. It would be better to firmly establish their own footing and focus on competing with other companies.

Su Li did not think that way. She had already made up her mind and was determined to acquire WH this time.
